Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

"Haaaaaah~!" Alessandra sighed in relief as she walked along the boardwalk, having just gotten off from work. It was late. The sky was still dark, but the first rays of the sun would soon be spreading along the horizon to signal the starting of a new day. As per usual, she was walking a ways back to her car, which had been parked a good distance down the boardwalk from the radio station she worked at.

Clad only in a yellow tank-top and tight blue jeans, Aless knew the dangers that waited for her in the night. Admittedly, it was less dangerous here than downtown, but walking alone at night was still an unwise choice. Just the other night she and the cop, Yui Iwasawa, had been attacked. This should have deterred her from ever walking long distances by herself. But the rush of getting into a street fight only served to egg the elemental on. One day, she would pay for playing with things no one ever should... But not today.

"Hey, lil' lady. You look so alone out here tonight."

A man, backed up by three others, approached her from behind. "Maybe you would like some company?" He gave her ass a small smack and grabber elbow with his other arm, pulling her to face hiss mall group.

"Hey, man!" Another one spoke up. "I don't want no sloppy seconds! Lemmie have her first!"

"No way." Chimed in a third. "What makes you so special? I went last last time, so I should go first this time!" The first one lifted his hand to silence the argument that was quickly starting. "Hold up a minute," he grumbled and leaned closer to get a better look at Alessandra. "Well hell! This is special. She's one of the two girls what got our boss in jail; she fits his description perfectly! We will have to give her the royal treatment!"

The brunette rolled her eyes. So these losers were part of that small time street gang she and Yui had run into? If that was so, then these guys would be easy to beat down. While the guys rekindled their argument over who went first, she punched the first man in the solar plexus causing him to release her as he bent over from pain. She followed up with an uppercut to his throat, flames gathering in her hand as she executed the movement. The blow landed him on his ass and the intense heat from her flames had seared into the flesh of his neck, melting it badly.

The remaining three reacted quickly, two grabbing her arms to restrain her while the fourth smirked. Speaking up for the first time, he leaned in close and whispered in her ear. "You made this easier on us; one less to share."

In an act of defiance, Alessandra reared her head back, and slammed it into the face of the man whispering, knocking him back. Spiking her body temperature to 250 degrees caused the other two to jump back, letting her go. She knew there was little time to think and there were so many ways for her to mess up, but she had to try. As all three rushed at her, she punched the ground, sending a shockwave of flames out and around her. The wave of flames washed over the men, burning them and sending them flying back.

The elemental knelt there for a moment, catching her breath. This had been the most she had to use her power in a while, and it left her winded.

"That was....fun?"

Amber, if given the option, preferred gliding rather than walking, especially at night around this cesspool of a city. Still, as grimy as its inhabitants tended to be, she always managed to find some form of entertainment, something interesting to watch or jump into. Maybe that was what kept her here, who knew. She sure as hell didn't, at any rate.

Still, even flying about as she was, the petite blonde should have been wearing more than a pair of black denim shorts (which half a glance would reveal that they were, at one point a full pair of pants - the edges of where the leg portions ha been were cut, sewn, then burnt, and were now frayed a bit, as if she hadn't been able to fully make up her mind about what to do with them), a pale blue t-shirt, and her baby-blue-and-white Converses. Granted, she didn't really care - even in the cool autumn air, she seemed comfortable enough.

She'd been lost in her thoughts, admittedly, for a few minutes there... Nathan was locked up because Lucien was an idiot, Markus had gone missing, she needed to fill out the slots for her squad... As if the thought had triggered a chain reaction, she caught sight of a spark of flame from the corner of her eye. Subconsciously, the blonde turned in its direction and sped up, coming onto the scene just in time to see the brunette send out her flame shockwave, and it was a good thing Amber hadn't walked up.

"Sure looked like fun," she laughed, hovering in the air just a few feet diagonal of the brunette. "Least the last bit did, I didn't get to see much else other than that, though. You look tired, did it take that much effort?" She questioned, head cocked slightly to the side. Maybe she'd just gotten her powers, or maybe she hadn't been using them much. Still, she certainly had grabbed Amber's attention, and while the blonde was going to be cautious, she certainly didn't appear it.

In fact, that's when she landed, literally about eight inches in front of the other girl, with a grin to mock the Cheshire Cat's on her lips.

She tore her blue eyes from the brunette long enough to survey the immediate area. She was alone, that was good. "So what're you doing out here by yourself then, huh? I mean, if it's hard using your powers or something you should have someone with you, just in case. Not every pack of idiots you run into is gonna be as easy as these four to screw over," she gestured loosely to the group of males strewn about the area watching their bodies for a brief moment in case one was stubborn and tried to get up.

Then she blinked, and almost laughed again, looking back to the other woman. "Sorry, I just kinda started rambling. My name's Amber. You alright?"

Hearing a voice above her, Alessandra lifted her eyes to meet a pair of deep blue eyes. The other girl hovered in the air not too far from where she stood. Her blonde hair, making her eyes all the more beautiful, flowed through the air like liquid gold. She had a very attractive figure and Aless found herself blushing softly as she took this new arrival in.

Standing up straight, she answered the blonde's question with a sigh. "It didn't take that much out of me, I am just a little done in from work. Although, it has been a while since I really got to use my power, so it's totally believable that it took more than I expected." Her hand moved to adjust a rogue strand of hair. Maybe she should train her power a bit more. At least exercise it about as much as she did her physical body.

While Alessandra was lost to her own thoughts, the other girl landed rather close; under a foot away. Seeing her this close made the elemental's heart beat a little faster, but she liked it. there was a certain playfulness about this girl that she felt akin to.

Her own mischievous smile spread across her face as she listened to the other's words. "Yeah, you're right. But I suppose I am drawn to the risk. It provides a certain..." Aless' brown eyes drifted over Amber once more before locking gazes again. "...Rush" She bit her bottom lip and smiled at the girl.

Realizing she was flirting with a girl whose name she didn't even know yet, Aless backed off. She didn't want to scare the poor girl....if she wasn't into that kind of thing...

The girl introduced herself as Amber and seemed to be mildly concerned with her well being. Chuckling sweetly, Alessandra introduced herself as well. "I'm Alessandra. Yeah I'm fine. It was a nice warm up."

Amber wasn't an idiot, at least not today and caught on to Alessandra's flirting rather easily, the subtle and not-so-subtle hints the brunette tossed out in her direction. Rush, indeed. Still, the other girl was rather attractive, herself, and it wasn't something Amber immediately ignored. But, she wasn't here to pick up a new date - no, no, no. She needed to stop mixing business with pleasure... Well, maybe she could make an exception... Technically, Alessandra wasn't business just yet.

But she would be.

"Well, I'd just hate to see that rush get the best of you, but the risks are fun, hm?" She grinned, moving and lacing her arm with one of Aless's, starting to walk along the beaten path in the direction she assumed the girl had been travelling prior to being surrounded by the small pack of imbeciles.

"You're like me, I like a little risk in the games I play, too. Ma told me not to play with fire, for instance," she grinned wolfishly, looking to the brunette with an odd sparkle in those blue eyes. "But, I'm not getting burned right now, am I? Then again, maybe there's not too much risk with you," she almost purred the last bit, releasing Alessandra's arm and floating again now, doing a quick lap around the brunette before settling in front of her again with a grin.

"But if you're interested, I might have an offer you might like." She paused for a moment, eyes locked with hers, before she beamed again. Like a child telling a secret they weren't supposed to. She couldn't tell it just yet, though. Landing again, she bounced back a couple feet. The wind in the area seemed to pick up whipping around the two.

"But, since I only caught a tiny preview of what you can do... Mind showin' me what you've got?"

After all, a group of four perverts was nothing compared to some of the things Aless might have to deal with in Cerberus.

Amber was a very intriguing girl. She took initiative, and that was always something good. Alessandra hated it when she had to make every move, so it was nice to meet someone who was just as bold, if not more so. She liked to be assertive, but every once in a while being submissive was just as fun. Especially with somebody who knew what they were doing...

The blonde's words snapped her back to the present. "That depends," Aless smiled as the other girl circled her. "A little burn in the right area can make all the difference." She had to admit, it was kind of exciting to be looked over by Amber. It gave her body tingles and made her want to live up to whatever standard with which she was compared to.

"An offer, huh? Well, I suppose I can indulge you some." As she spoke, her body became wrapped in flames from head to toe. The flames licked outward as they tried to extend their ambitious reach, their conquest contained only by Alessandra's will. Wreathed in her element, her body began to change. Her brunette hair grew from it's neck-length down her back to her butt, it's almond color shifting to a ruby red. The whites of her eyes were bleached black and the irises glowed a sparkling gold. Her clothes were fed to her fire's never ending hunger, replaced by a scale-like substance that covered only the bare essentials and even then, could grow or disappear according to Aless' instruction.

Standing fully transformed, she held up her right hand and gathered all the flames in her palm. Flashing Amber an energetic smile, she threw the flames at an old, derelict billboard that stood quite a ways away. The large ball of flames seared across the night sky and exploded into the side of the structure, leaving a gaping hole. Turning to face Amber, she blew the girl a kiss. As her fingers left her mouth, so did a jet of flames. The flames stretched forward and parted around the blonde, passing harmlessly by her head less than six inches away, only to meet up behind her and continue on for another couple of feet. Amber would find that even the heat barely made it to her person. The warmth that was brushing against her skin barely reached five degrees higher than the rest of the night air.

Still transformed, Alessandra leaned up against the metal railing and winked at the girl. "How's that? I do also have a flaming whip, buuuuut I left it in my car..." She looked visibly disappointed for a moment before returning to her normal self. "I can do more, of course. But as for right now, I don't even know what you're offering. So..." She leaned forward just a bit and stared into Amber's blue eyes. "How about you indulge me a little, and at least tell me what you are advertising? Don't make me beg for it~"

Amber was, to say the least, pleasantly impressed by Alessandra's little show, a bit of a smirk on her lips as the flames by-passed around her. The warmth felt good, especially considering the chilled autumn air that had taken over the city tonight, and even after the flames vanished, she manipulated the air quietly and kept the warmth with her for a bit. Those blue eyes of hers took in the fire elemental for a few moments, even after the presentation - the change in appearance was, to put it innocently, interesting.

"Very nice, although I'm debating spanking you for leaving your toys in your car," she laughed, grinning at the brunette. She stepped forward, closing the distance between the two again, an inch or so under a foot away from her, before she leaned against the railing beside the other woman, palms against the cool metal behind her before she effortlessly lifted herself up onto it with balance that might shame a cat. "And don't offer to beg, I might be inclined to take you up on that offer," she winked, laughing a bit.

"The offer, though, is this: I'm part of a group of people, we're not really a 'gang', exactly. We're not the Yakuza or anything. We're working to fix the city up, from the ground up if need be. Y'know Batman? We're kind of like that, in a group, with our own Bat Cave and cool gadgets and everything," she explained, a little clumsily, but she didn't sound unnerved in the slightest about it. She had her own way of explaining things, and it worked just fine as far as she was concerned. "Me, in particular, I'm on a strike team for a faction of this group. We're the ones you see news stories about - things getting blown up, gang leaders being taken out, raids on trap houses and weapon shipments... All of it, and the cops have little to no hand in what we do, and vice versa, though we have our connections. That's why we're still floating, y'know? There's more than my team in it, hell, we're still just starting out. There's one other girl on the elemental squad, specifically, but you'll meet her soon enough if you're interested..."

She paused, considering. Maybe she should take her to meet Sayuri now, hell if nothing else the adorable little turquoise-haired girl might convince the fire starter to stick around.

"My offer, if you haven't caught on, is that I'd like you to join us. Don't worry, there's not really any paperwork and there's not a member fee, so far as I know," she grinned, looking back to Alessandra. "But my team, specifically, is elemental-based. We use our powers more than the firearms we're provided, though we keep 'em just in case. You've got your whip, you're obviously more than welcome to use it, an' I can probably think of a couple of situations where I'd prefer that you did." She flashed a smirk, before her hands moved up off the railing and small whisps of wind started dancing through her fingers, visible only due to how concentrated the particles were, like watching a current through the water. Her eyes were down at what she was doing for only a moment, before the blonde looked back to the brunette with an almost childish grin.

"So how about it, Alessandra? Wanna be my little Phoenix?"

The transformed Alessandra watched as Amber displayed her prowess with a pole. She didn't let the blonde's actions distract her from what she was saying however. A group of people who fought against the gangs, but weren't constrained by the police... It was exactly the sort of chance she had been hoping for! And if this group was the cause of the stuff she had seen on the news, they were effective in addition to everything else.

She brought a hand up to her lip and bit the flesh of her knuckle as if in deep contemplation. In truth, her mind was made up, she was just trying to contain her excitement. Kicking ass, destroying gang scum, and training with other elementals like herself. She doubted very many could counter such an offer, and even if they could, chances were they didn't have such a physically convincing lady as their recruiter.

Finally deciding she could speak without randomly squealing, Alessandra turned to face the blonde with a seductive smile. "When you put it like that, I don't think anybody could refuse." Her golden eyes looked deep into Amber's blue ones. "Nothing would please me more than to be your Phoenix."

Amber had been watching the other female carefully, gauging the expression she held and her movements, watching as she appeared to be weighing the situation at hand. That was fine, Amber had time to spare for sure, and she knew damn well that sometimes the answer wasn't always a simple 'yes' or 'no'. Hell, sometimes Sayuri even still seemed a little nervous about the decision she'd made, but so far, things were working out with the small, otherwise energetic girl.

But then, she seemed to have come to a decision, and between the smile and the look in her eyes, Amber beamed with a bit of excitement that wasn't all necessarily just for the other girl agreeing to join up with them.

While Alessandra had contained her squealing, the blonde couldn't help but let the squeak of one leave her lips as she bounced up off the rail and hugged her. "Welcome to Strike Team Bravo, Phoenix~!" She practically laughed, grinning at the girl, though for the moment her face was half-hidden by the other female's hair. She released her and did a bit of an excited spin in the air, hovering for a minute and looking down at Alessandra, Cheshire grin still plastered on her face.

"You're gonna' love Hummingbird, she's adorable. I need to get a hold of Axel, too, to get your Bangle and gun..." She considered aloud, floating side to side for a minute as she thought, eyes up at the sky now, contemplating. She snapped her fingers after a moment, grinning again as she looked over to the fire elemental. "Give me your cell number, I'll give you a call within the next couple of days to meet up. Axel's probably at least a little busy, we've run into some issues just recently, but I'm sure he'll be able to make time for a new recruit," she winked, landing back infront of Alessandra.

She leaned over, though, and unclasped her Bangle from her ankle - hey, it was easy enough to hide it as some rediculous piece of jewelry, after all. She only slide it onto her wrist from there, though - she'd get a hold of Axel, or try to, on her way home to arrange something, as well as get in contact with Sayuri and inform her that they had a new addition to their little team. Her hand slipped into her pocket then, and produced her own phone, moving and offering it to Alessandra so she could program her number into it.

She was a little surprised at the other's sudden excitement, but when hugged, Alessandra wrapped her arms around the blonde as well. Seeing her this energetic gave Aless high hopes for this new progression. A strike team of elemental people? Hell yeah! And maybe they could get together for training exercises! Maybe even some other forms of 'exercise'...

The elemental shook her head to get rid of the lewd thoughts. Now wasn't the time.

She paid close attention to Amber as she talked about the other member of the team, calling her Hummingbird. Then she mentioned something about a gun and bangle...Alessandra just smiled as she took in all the information she was given. Cerberus, well, this strike team in particular seemed to be a tight knit group. She felt honored to be counted among them.

"Oh, yeah, sure!" The red-head said with a smile as she took the cell phone from her. She punched her number in and sent herself a text so she would have the number on hers as well. Handing the phone back to Amber, she smiled kindly.

"Thanks a lot for this, I really appreciate it. I have been hoping for a chance like this for a while now. If there is anyway you want me to repay you, just give he a shout."
