  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Anael had contemplated for a long while if she should call the man named Dick, he did call the cops on her. Granted she stole his glasses and pinned him against the wall. The only reason she picked up the phone and dialed him, and told him to meet her for coffee, was because she wanted to know what happened to his neck. Even though the conversation could have been had over the phone, she felt it was more of an in person kind of thing. She wore her work clothes, because she had work that night. Her long sleeved black top was cupped just above her chest, not to much exposure. She did however, wear an extremely short white skirt and long thigh highs, her feet were wrapped in petite black heels and her hair was down. Her make up was done all nice, and honestly, she looked like a different person then before. Her body posture was very unladylike, she sat in her chair with her legs crossed but she was tilted back in the seat and slanted a bit. A server came out to the patio and handed her a cup that had tea in it.

She looked up at her and nodded her head, leaving the tea sitting in front of her she looked around. 'He may not even come...' She pondered to herself. Though why would he have given her his card if he didn't intend on following up with the requests she had.

"Anyways, someone else will be here, so come back in a second." She picked up her tea and took a sip. It was alright. Anael sighed and waited.

He thinks about the call and keeps his phone out, looking at the number as he headed to the location she set. He wore a simple white shirt and jeans. His sunglasses rested on the bridge of his nose. He looks about the place before noticing her. He was taken back by how she looked. He was under-dressed where as she seemed overdressed, even wearing make up. He frowns a bit. Did he read into the call wrong? Was this supposed to be a date?

He walks up and takes off his glasses, sliding them into his pocket as he sits across from her. "Sorry I'm late." He gives her a gentle smile and orders a coffee, black, from the barista.

Anael leaned back against the chair seeing Dick show up and sit across from her. He didn't look like he did the other day, not very dressed up this time. Running her fingers through her long red hair she picked up her drink and took a sip before responding to him. "You should be." She raised an eye brow, she was kidding, but her tone seemed serious. Putting her drink down on the table, she licked her lips, trying to think of how to start the conversation.

"I called you because I was curious about your scar, the one around your neck." This tone was different, it was a somber tone, one that had no real emotion behind it. Maybe a hint of curiosity. But she didn't sound angry, upset, happy or sad. It was just flat.

'I mean...how does one get something like that..and not die..' She thought.

He looked away and sat there quietly, hands resting on the arms of the chair. His gaze turns up, staring at the sky, thinking it over. He nods after a bit. "I can understand that. I got into a car accident a few years back. The.. metal of the car was wrapped and cut into my neck. The doctors said it was a miracle I survived at all considering how deep the metal was imbedded into my neck." He looks over to her, looking her in the eye. "From what they told me, the cut went up to my windpipe, yet the metal prevented me from suffocating at the same time."

He thinks about it. "And yours?" It was weird how it seemed that after the car accident he really couldn't be injured. Just this ugly scar to remind him how precious life was.

Anael listened, almost losing her breakfast as she listened to his story. Her hand reached up to her throat and she gripped on tightly. Just imagining something like that happening to her, made her not want to get behind the wheel ever again. Swallowing she nodded her head as he finished and asked her about her scar. Pressing her lips together she sat there and wondered if she should make up a bullshit story. Unfortunately, Anael couldn't bring herself to do it, especially after he had just told her that gruesome story. Telling him her story would bring up more questions, but hopefully he wasn't the curious type like she was.

"I was stuck on an Island for five years by myself. About the fourth year a group that was also stuck there, I guess.." She shrugged her shoulders, never really knowing exactly how they got there. "Came at me and ..." She thought about what to say next, still talking about it really didn't sit well with her. "Basically they wanted my supplies and other things they couldn't get between just the men." She hinted, if he didn't get it that was his fault. "They slit my throat after they were done with me. I don't know who saved me. Because I should have been dead."

She leaned forward and put her elbows to the table, and set her head in her hands, waiting for a response.

He shifts a bit and just watched her reaction as he had told his story. His fingers holding onto his hands and wringing a bit as he listens to her. He heard her story and remained silent, staring at the table and thanked the waitress when his coffee arrived. He leans back a bit and holds the cup in his hand, looking down into the dark liquid. He sets it down and looks at her. He understood. He reached his hand forward and lightly taps her head. "Hey.."

He was silent for a second and changed the topic. "So why all prettied up? Was this a date that I didn't know about?"

Anael shifted her body and sighed, odd that he was like a mirrored male version of her. Maybe he just knew she wouldn't want his sympathy. This guy was starting to remind her of someone, and she didn't like it.

"Huh.." She looked down at herself and raised an eye brow. I guess her appearance would have anyone questioning. She was dressed up, which wasn't like her. Clearing her throat she shook her head. "Not a date. I have work later. I'm the bartender at the Sky Lounge." Her eyes wondered back to him and she questioned. "Why aren't you dressed to impress like you were the other day?" She picked her drink up and took another sip.

Not like she was looking, but she liked the way he looked right now. None of that fancy crap he was wearing last time she saw him.

He smiles a bit and leans forward, taking his coffee, sipping at it slowly. He stops after a bit at her question, reversed to him, it was the same he asked. He leans his head back a bit, looking up at the sky once more. "Hmm.. I guess you seemed pretty fixated on how I looked the other day. I figured something simpler would bring me to a more acceptable standard for you." He takes another gulp of the coffee. "If it makes you feel any better." He pulls his glasses out, setting them on the table. "I did wear these to here."

He was teasing her. He looks to the side and sets his coffee down and folds his arms. "Dressing this simply also allows me to avoid the paparazzi." He smiles playfully. "But you work at the Sky Lounge? I might have to come visit."

Anael had some conflict in her. She was trying to be simple towards the man, not being mean but it was difficult as he teased her with the glasses. Her eye twitched and she clinched her hands into a fist. She was about to yell out when he continued, he was very perceptive that was for sure. Turning her head quickly she spoke. "You look better like that anyways, you don't look like such a prick." That was her form of a compliment. Take it as he will. As he continued, the statement he made about going to the sky lounge made her flustered.

"W-why?" If he was so afraid of the paparazzi, heaven forbid he go to the Sky Lounge. That would be just asking for camera's and people going crazy over him. She shook her head and looked back at him. Obviously, she knew what he was hinting at but didn't want to admit it to herself or to him that she knew.

"Anyways, so who exactly are you? Why are you so...important that you've got to avoid the paparazzi?"

He couldn't help but laugh at her comment. "Prick.. Clever." He wondered if she even got the obscure joke she accidentally made. Dick. Prick. He shakes his head slowly. "For someone who works at the Sky Lounge, you don't seem to listen to the gossip. Surely you heard of the American Business Tycoon who recently arrived here? Richard Kingsley?" He remained silent to see if she could put two and two together to come out with what he was referring to.

"When you're a multibillionaire you generally have to avoid paparazzi because they're so... invasive." He shifts in his chair a bit, looking off to the side. "I came looking to invest and get even more business. Not much of reason, but the scent of profit is good enough for me."
