| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Wade was getting himself ready. There was a new member of the Hotel Tachibana and Wade was going to meet him. It was making Wade a bit nervous to have him around though, a feeling of dread behind this meeting. From what he was told; he was a medical student and the rest wasn`t really important. Wade had dropped out of medical school, but calls himself Doctor, and so does every one of his patients for that matter. To have an actual medical student do what he failed… was hurting his pride. He shook his head. No time for that… Wade was setting up a medical table with a bunch of drugs on them. This medical student, Wade was told, was interested in the special meta-drugs that are specialized for Niwa. He had to use several contacts to get some free samples. They were all marked: looking glass, red eyes, Silver Bear, PEX, Soma and Love. Wade checked his watch. The lad was probably going to show up soon. Wade was set up in his abandoned bakery in West Jinsei; the so-called neutral zone in the ghetto that was heavily guarded by Hotel Tachibana; although they remained unseen. His entire block was a neutral zone. None of the gangs, or anybody was allowed to start anything. No deaths, no injuries were to be administered, this was a place of healing and nothing else. In order to access his office, one had to go to the side of the bakery into a well light alleyway, and knock on the metal door that led to his office. |

« I concur that you control water, but it has no effect on cellular reconstruction, at least I don`t think. You could prevent someone from bleeding to death by making the blood inside the body, but even then that won`t heal the wound.” Wade said without much though, it simply blurted out. He pushed back his glasses on the rim of his nose. He failed to see the correlation, but… he did have a point on the human body containing a lot of liquids, let it be blood, the digestive fluids, and muscle fluids. He could control someone`s body should they evolve further… how… dangerous. “The Phoenix?” Wade pondered as he put down the aerosol back to its place. What a coincidence, that was the next item. Or rather “Phorbol Ester Xypinephrine” He said each syllable slowly, not to show off, but because they were hard to say. “Or PEX, or phoenix as you called it” He gently picked up the vial, and showed it to Elliot. The red liquid with gold untethered at the bottom; Wade then shook it to mix it. It was beautiful to see the gold mesh with the red liquid. Golden tentacles seemed to form as if it was alive. “To be injected in the back of the neck, near the spinal cord, perfect blood vessel for the drug to work its magic more efficiently” Wade said with a nod. “It basically does what I do. It regenerates wounds. Increases cell regeneration, makes your body more efficient, without causing any damage… The damage happens after the effect wears off.” Wade sighed. “It`s a very beautiful drug, nearly poetic. It grants you wings, allows you to fly, and when you reach the sun you crash down, and the higher you go, the more you take in…. The bigger the fall. From feeling bad and weakfish for three days to falling in a coma for three weeks; more than triple dose, and you die after you time is up. ” Wade sighed. “It does have practical medical uses. Used it on a bunch of burnt victims, my hands offset the damage of the drug, which is kind of easier than treating burns” |

"It seems I found the last piece of the puzzle, where would I be able to find this miracle drug then?" This time he had nearly wrenched the vial from the man's hands, gripping the bottle more than tightly with his fingers, he found that the drug flecked with gold and red had caught his eye in the same way as a man who had just unearthed a jewel; it was a mystic gaze, and it intrigued him. The forefront of his research would delve into the practical uses and marketization of this PEX, he thought of weakening the dose in order to lessen the possibility of addiction, but there was something he needed to test first. Staring deeply into the vial of Phoenix, he willed the water with all but a compelling stare, calling out to it, hoping to in some way affect the liquid like he had tried with the others. For what seemed like an eternity, the liquid inside had not changed shape despite his manipulations, until, for all but a brief second, the concoction moved, floating up for a brief moment in a spectacle that only H. J. could see. Hiding his excitement, he handed the vial back to Wade, and made a unique decision. " It seems that, with your experience, expertise, and ability, you are the exact person I need to be working with in HT, would you mind if I become something or an, apprentice perhaps?" In the past few days, H. J. had not lived the ideal image of a college exchange student; after his near tragic death at the hands of a ill-controlled car, he had delved further into the live of meta-humans. In the process, he had been mugged, attacked and nearly killed at least 6 or 7 times before making his way to Hotel Tachibana. If he was to survive long enough to complete his research paper on meta-drugs, he would need a system, a teacher, and a plan. "Don't worry, I've been tested on the streets of Niwa, and you'll find that I'm pretty useful to have in a sticky situation" Edited by H. J. Elliot, Nov 2 2012, 01:40 AM.

Wade crossed his arms as he leaned back on his desk. He couldn`t really believe what Elliot was suggesting. Become his apprentice? Wade just used his hands on the wounded and addicted; there was nothing to teach. He could show him how he uses his hands, but there`s nothing really to offer. On the other hand, Wade could use some help with controlling the occasional rush, but even then… He was a medical student; so maybe he`ll be able to keep them from dying too fast before Wade can use his hands on them. He couldn’t accept. Wade shook his head. “I don`t understand what you need. I`m a meta-healer. There`s nothing here. I live in near poverty. Working with me would have you cooped in here as I bring in patient after patient, and you get to see my hands in action.” He sighed. “But… back to the drug. PEX is actually not that expensive. You can recreate it if you have the necessary ingredients such as phorbol ester adhesive bandage or PEAB, and I have some supplies of that for treatments. I lack the lab the make it, but I`m not interested in making drugs. If I started doing that, I would lose my neutrality in Niwa. You probably noticed, didn`t you? When you came here? This area is very well defended, and that`s only because all the shadow factions came to an agreement about this place. I even had to personally ask every leader about giving you this demonstration, and pull some favors and all I have is some samples.” Wade looked at the rest of the drugs. He looked back at Elliot. “I can help you. I`m a phone call away, but other then that, to make you my apprentice… I don`t think it`ll be what you`re looking for.” |

(Sorry I was gone for so long. I'll just finish it with this last post) "I'll make sure to keep you on the rolodex." His life in Niwa, though it had been previously been a hum-drum group of meetings, classes, hospital work and street fights, he found that he had felt an unnatural comfort in the city and its activities. Even this doctor, holed up in a back alley, was someone he could gain a wealth of experience from. He was quickly on his way to making a name for himself in Niwa, whether it be through the people he saved when he became a doctor, or through the use of his skills in Hotel Tachibana. Things seemed limitless in Niwa, and that's what excited him the most. But he had to start small, he could not get anywhere in the city with the skills he had now, but the doctor made it clear that he was at least trustworthy enough to help him along the way. His business would be information, enough to gain control of the drug trade in Niwa and study the effects in the most upfront and uncensored way possible, but he would need to start building from the ground up. But H. J. was happy to at least meet someone on the same level as him, a meta with skills and the information needed to understand them. Returning the drugs to Wade, H. J. grabbed his backpack and shook it once, hearing the rattle of it's contents, comforted by the sound of glass clinking against itself inside. He waved his goodbye to Wade, heading back out the same door he had entered in, his heart embolden and his mind reeling from the possibility he had. There was one thing he had known for sure, that he was one his way to making something of himself in Niwa. "If you ever need anything, remember to come talk to me" Edited by H. J. Elliot, Dec 21 2012, 02:39 AM.
