| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Ah yes… her first lunch as a cop. This meal was going to be glorious, delicious, even. Lyn D. Keell had just started her first day as a police officer. She had her police uniform on, and gawd did she love how it made her look and feel. This was the meaning of power. The morning was rather uneventful. She and other rookies did some training exercises and Lyn might`ve accidentally sent one of the new recruits in the hospital. Really, the guy was asking for it, pushing her into throwing her best punch. Little did he know that this woman was not to be trifled with; to give an idea; she was taller than the average Japanese male and worked out regularly to keep herself in shape. After all, how could someone meek ever think to properly defend someone? The incident quickly made its way around the precinct and it did earn her the respect of some of her colleagues, especially those that witnessed it. Lyn was a meta-human. Her power was to shift that body of hers into metal and the punch she gave was one mean metal punch. Lyn was happy; however, as she began eating the cafeteria food, though one bite was enough to turn her blue. She swallowed it down though… She expected the taste of victory to be less… disgusting… She sighed as she begrudgingly ate her lunch |

Lyn nodded about Niwa being in bad shape. “Aye! Niwa is in a lousy shape, but considering… it`s not really all bad, the thing that makes it bad is that even regular low-key criminals can be very dangerous for normies and cops. Sometimes you never know if the person you’re chasing is just a juvenile delinquent or a humanoid creature that feasts on human flesh” She knew about the stories that were told; they apparently lost a few cops to this young delinquent. They even have some few graphic police video. He`d literally scratch them to death, and you could see him feast on their flesh. It hasn`t happened for some moths, but they`re still looking for him. He is reported being in the wilderness or in the park. The wilderness also has some big animals, and the park houses many lowlifes. Lyn slapped her fist in her palm. “Yush! I joined the cops to give the police force a fighting chance!” She said proudly with a fire to her eyes. Lyn hadn`t caught on the past tense of the word lived, and had assumed that her current partner and her squad member were one in the same. Lyn couldn`t help but smile about her words: Niwa being her home. She was so cool… She snapped back from her pensive state as she was asked about herself. She blushed a bit. “Actually… My first dream was to be a wrestler…” She said embarrassed. “A real life super heroine that they could look up to. I was good at it; in high school I could out wrestle most of the guys!” She said flexing her bicep. “But… my parents threatened to disown me, so I became a cop instead” She said sticking out her tongue. Lyn`s eyes brightened up as she opened her lunch box. She even let out a delighted squeal. “Really, I can?! Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!” She said repeatedly. She clapped her hands together and gave her a bow. Her eyes matched those of a kid, she loved sweets. Who didn't? “Are you sure?! I`ll have to treat you next time Yui!” Lyn said happily. This was a great first day, punch out a jerk, and now she had a friend. She waited for her to have the first bite, it was the polite thing to do. |

Lyn was to adorable for words. Yui couldn't help but feel like an older sister in a way, feeding her because the food from school was crap. Even though they were the same age, she couldn't help but feel that sense they would be great friends. "Go ahead, take whichever one you want." She turned it and let Lyn pick first, then turned it back around and pulled out on for herself and sat it down on the top of her bento box lid. She adjusted herself in her seat and took the first bite as Lyn had been waiting for. "Very delicious." She said with her mouth full, she giggled and put her hand up to her mouth, and swallowing. "Sorry." Licking her lips, she spoke out to Lyn as she began eating the dessert. "Wrestler huh? That does sound pretty bad ass. I'm sorry your family didn't approve, but I understand completely. Both my moms were hesitant to let me sign up for the military." Yui nodded her head very lightly, thinking back to when she first got the letter in the mail that she was accepted and when she was to be shipped to boot camp. "I excelled very quickly in boot camp, and wasn't long before I was shipped over seas. My moms were very afraid for me, they made it very clear that they didn't think it was right for me to risk my life. But.." She smiled and looked up at Lyn. "They saw the dedication in my eyes, and that is when they knew to let me go, and they did." Yui took another bite, giving it a second before she spoke again. "Though, I'm glad you decided to join the police force, now I have a friend to share my delicious lunch with!" She teased; there was more reasons for her being excited about Lyn joining the force. |

Lyn looked so starve. Welp, she clearly wasn`t going to eat her cafeteria meal; She slid it aside as she decided on which one to pick. She noticed the strawberries… Lyn loved strawberries. She picked the strawberry cake. It looked so pretty. She kind of didn`t want to eat it, but her stomach won out, as she picked a strawberry and ate it whole. She let out a satisfied moan. “It`s alright” Lyn said with the strawberry still in her mouth, and giggled with Yui. This was nice. Lyn didn`t really have too many female friends in high school. She was into sports, and mainly befriended guys. But this was nice, she really lucked out today. She wondered what else this day was going to bring, but might as well enjoy this moment now. She was glad at least SOMEONE thought her dreams of becoming a wrestler was cool. She even had her name all figured out. She listened as she spoke. Yui was so great. She didn`t let her mothers get in the way of her dreams, though… Lyn herself, wasn`t too sure about the wrestler business; they did convince her to think more rationally and less impulsive, that was in the best though. “Indeed!” She said wholeheartedly. “It`s very delicious! Next time, i`ll bring in the lunch, and we can share it. I can cook too.” She said proudly. “It`s pretty awesome you enlisted. I thought of it too, but my parents are very… old fashioned. If it were up to them, I’d already have two children and be married already. I had to fight my way into convincing them I could be a cop.” She had a nostalgic smile as she thought about it. “My brothers actually stepped up for once and helped their big sister” She then blushed a bit embarrassed at the sudden memory. “So how long did it take before they paired you up with someone? I`ve yet to meet or hear about my partner.” Lyn sighed. |

Yui watched in delight as she enjoyed the dessert, it was pleasant to see someone enjoy her cooking as much as she did. As she continued eating, she listened in on Lyn talk about her brothers, and it made Yui a bit envious. She grew up a single child, which was weird considering her moms wanted a big family. Yui always questioned that it was her fault they decided not to have another child, because she was born with a difficult gift to grow up with. When she was young, she would take things around the house and throw them at her moms for fun, and never missing, got a bit old. Then again, it could have been worse, she could have had the ability to ignite fire to anything. That would have been...interesting to say the least. "I lost a few people in the nine eleven attack, so it hit home for me and my moms. So...even though they didn't agree with me going, they felt what I was feeling when I enlisted. You know?" She nodded her head and smiled a bit. As the next question came up, she raised her hand and rubbed her shoulder, pondering. It was repetitively quick now that she thought about it. "Well now that you ask, it was pretty quick. I was partnered with someone almost instantly coming to Niwa. Which is fine, Peter who is my partner, is an awesome guy." Yui brought her plastic fork that she had brought just for the dessert, down to the cake and brought up a bite, thinking for a second. "You know.." She swallowed and smiled. "If you ever need someone to go out on a mission with you, and you haven't got a partner, you can always request me to be your partner for the assignment." Yui smiled sweetly. It was her duty to keep the city of Niwa protected, so she would take any opportunity to do just that. Adjusting her top, and looked around. "They are always getting new recruits in, you'll get a partner in no time." |

« God… I remember the attack. Saw it on the News. Those poor people” Lyn said trying to sympathize. She reached for her hand and squeezed it. It happened when she was 12; the 9/11 attack, but also earlier in the year her elder brother vanished… It was a horrible year; but her elder brother was a very touchy subject, and one she didn't want to bring up right now. She listened as she mentioned the partners. She groaned loudly as she rested her shoulder on the table, and her head on her hand. “Ooooh, so lucky. I wasn`t assigned anyone yet… and I might have scared a few off earlier this morning” she sighed wearily. “But ah well, if they were frightened by that I wouldn’t want them as partners anyways!” She perked up nearly instantly especially when she offered to be a temporary partner. She had such a wide smile. To be partnered up with a trained soldier and super hero, that would be the best! Lyn was still very much a rookie, and only learned to shoot a gun a while back, but to be around a real sniper….Lyn grabbed her hands and shook them. “It`s a promise! If I ever need someone, I`ll ask for you… Hey” Lyn suddenly realized. She rummaged through her pockets and took out her phone. She went in the settings, add contact and handed her the phone. “Here! I promised you a free lunch too, ya know. Wouldn't want to bring it when you`re busy on a mission, and we can keep in touch” She said happily. |

Noticing Lyn grabbing her hand, Yui's cheeks flushed a bit, she really do physical contact. It was a bit embarrassing for her, especially when Lyn grabbed BOTH her hands and told her she'd love to have her as at least a temporary partner. She cleared her throat and smiled, her cheeks bright red she nodded her head. "I'd love that Lyn, we would make a good team, you and I." As Lyn released her hands, she let out a sigh of relief, and watched as she pulled out her phone and handed to Yui. Taking it, she nodded, and began entering her information into the phone. Giving her, her cell phone number and her email address. "I rarely use my email address, but I put it there just in case you can't get a hold of me by phone for a long period of time or something." Handing her back her phone she smiled. "Go ahead and shoot me a text message with your name so I know its you." It was nice to have new friends here in Niwa, at first Yui felt that her being to serious on the job would prevent her from having friends within the police force. She wondered, if she should warn her about that... "Hey Lyn.." Yui brought her hands up to her chin, her elbows resting against the table as she looked at her from across the table. Yui's blue eyes mirroring Lyn's. "When I'm on the job, I'll have to let you know now I'm very professional. Sometimes people consider me to be a bit cold, but its only because I care. I wont dilly dally around and be friendly with my partner or fellow cop friends while working. It is distracting and could end up getting me or my friends killed." Her tone was stern, but her face was still in a state of calming array. "I don't want you thinking when and if we do take an assignment together, that you've done something wrong if I seem different towards you. It's the military in me. You understand, right?" She hoped not to freak her out and scare her away from wanting to do assignments together, Yui was a good partner. She was protective and professional, she just was very good in separating her social life from work. |

Lyn nodded at her initial comment, already fantasizing about what it would be like. She took another bite of her dessert. So delicious, she wanted to squeal with each bite, she was actually savoring every second of it. Lyn took back the phone and looked at it. She quickly altered the name to add “-kins” at the end. It was something she used to do as a little girl, to add kins, instead of kun when referring to her little brothers, and her close friends. She quickly typed her message. “Pew! =^-^=” Lyn listened as she spoke about being professional. She thought about it a bit… The meaning of her words, no doubt a hero from Afghanistan would also be a hard ass soldier that only let herself go during down times, but Lyn was similar, but she really didn’t have much experience. If anything, it was making her look forward to it, to see her so serious. She nodded. “Don`t worry Yui! Unless you call me names, there`s really nothing that can piss me off” She said sweetly her face kind of changed though to doubt… “Well.. .actually not true… I have a bad temper.” She said scratching the back of her head. “I just punched a guy straight to the hospital because he was being a jerk this morning.” She said embarrassingly. She looked around. “Probably why nobody sat at my table except for you” she said sticking out her tongue. “But I don`t regret it. He was a jerk! I can`t stand the macho type. I had to grow up with four of them, another one is the last thing I need” She ranted a bit. “But… yeah, back to what you said. I`ll defintly behave. You`re like my Sempai. If we go out together, then I`ll try my best to follow your orders, Ma`am!” Lyn said as she saluted her. |

Yui smiled sweetly as she got a text message almost instantly. Pulling out her iPhone she smiled and responded to the text back. "Tehee~ ^///^" She added her to her contacts and looked back up at Lyn as she spoke. A temper was alright, as long as someone learned to control it. Yui had use to have a temper, but found herself cooling down after an incident in Iraq, right when she arrived for the first time. Nodding her head she spoke. "At least you can take care of your own. If people avoid you for that, then they aren't worth your company Lyn. You're a great person." Yui leaned her head to the side slightly, and smile brightly. It was odd to have a girl friend, she was around so many men while in the service. Don't get her wrong, there were women, but not in her line of work. Snipers were not the best of career choices when joining the Military. They were extremely lonely, and even when there were other snipers with you, and even a spotter...they would never talk. It was odd that Yui had such good communication skills. Very odd indeed. When Lyn called Yui her Sempai, and saluted her she couldn't help but giggle. Saluting her back she straightened her back and put her hand to her forehead and nodded her head. "Thank you, private. I'd be honored to have you by my side!" She dropped her hand and bit down on her lip and smiled, letting out a sigh of joy. If she ended up having to go back to war, leaving the people she had met...would be hard to say goodbye too. |

Lyn blushed at her compliment. It was true though, Lyn discovered that long ago. If they didn`t like her for who she was, then ignore them. She gave Yui a smile. “Thank you, it means a lot” She said with a nod. Lyn giggled as she did her salute. It was so proper, unlike Lyn`s. Yes, this was definitely someone to look up to. “Heh, Private Keell, huh?” She said pensively. There was no way her parents could ever allow her to join the army. Lyn looked at her watch. She was to report in for practice shooting after lunch. “Oh! I have to go. I`m doing standard firearm practice. Because this is my first day, and they can`t seem to find a partner for me, they have me train the entire day today.” She let out a sigh, as she got herself up. She pocketed her phone as she spoke to Yui. “Oy, If you`re up to it, you want to hang out after work? Since you’re new, I could show you around the city. I was born and raised, ya know. Nearly know it like the back of my hand!” she said proudly as she bowed to her. She grabbed her tray of inedible food. “It was a pleasure! Send me a text if you’re up for it!” And like that Lyn was walking away with her tray in hand, about to throw the food out and run off for shooting practice. |

Yui smiled sweetly and nodded her head at Lyn. "Of course, just shoot me a text and we can hang out." As Lyn left, Yui continued sitting and finishing up her dessert, thinking of the night ahead. --end thread-- |
