Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Yui needed a night to just take a break from the rush of the city. She had been taking mission after mission for the NCPD and needed a break. When she heard that there was a Night Club that was popular in the city, she couldn't pass up the opportunity to check it out. Yui stepped through the security at the front door after showing her ID to them, and went straight to the dance floor. She didn't need to get liquored up to have a good time, and she needed to get into that mosh pit of sweat and energy. She wore a tight red dress that hugged her hips, flowing down her thighs and stopping just about mid thigh. The problem with her was that she was extremely tall, so any dress she bought was already immediately to short. Her hair was down tonight, nice and curled as it bounced along side her arms and down her back, her make up simple not to crazy. She didn't need to put it on like that, she felt she had natural beauty, not to be covered up by the mess of cosmetics. Her nails were done along with her toes, which could be seen through her opened toed flats.

The music was already blasting by the time she entered the nightclub, the beat already sending her body into motion as she made it to the dance floor. 'Just one song..then the bar..' Yui made it to the dance floor, and instantly being grabbed in different directions. She loved to dance, so being pulled into a close proximity to someone to dance was no problem for her. Her hips swayed with the music, and her shoulders roll with her movements. Yui's legs spread apart as she bent her knees very slightly, her back rolling around with the sound of each beat hitting the air. Her back was pressed tightly against the man behind her, her arm raising and curling around his neck. Swaying her hips from side to side, she danced to the song like no other. It wasn't long before more people joined in to dance with her, but once the song was over she pushed aside from them and headed towards the bar.

Yui finally made it to the bar and took a stand, her hand raising to get the bartenders attention she spoke with a laugh. "Vodka cranberry please, with the good stuff!" Her smile was wide across her face, that was something never seen on the job. She was having a great time, even if she was alone. Yui always prided herself that she didn't need anyone to have a good time, as long as she had music, a dance floor, and alcohol she was good to go!

Daichi made it in without a problem, which was something else considering usually problems followed him wherever he went. Daichi already had a few drinks in him at this point, not enough to bring out his inner drunkard, but it was enough to get him to feeling like his old self again. Shutting his eyes for a second, Daichi let the darkness and the loud pulsating music take over his senses. It was almost overwhelming, but nothing that could stop him from getting himself lost in a crowd full of twenty-somethings where he stood as the odd man out. All of these kids were probably in college or something else along those lines, which made him feel (only for a second) like he was the oldest living person on the planet.

"Vodka, straight."

Daichi didn't mess around with drinks, nothing needed to be concocted for him to taste good. Daichi liked the burn just fine, and he loved it even more when he knocked back the straight shot. Just as he was finishing up, however, he noticed a young lady who looked like nobody else in this club. The young lady wore a red dress with a beautiful head of blonde hair, reminding him of his time back in the United States. Daichi couldn't help but vacantly nod as the bartender poured him another shot, his attention squarely focused on the lady who turned to also reveal a very bright and beautiful smile.

So, aside from feeling like an old man, he also felt under dressed in his white collared shirt and dark slacks. His dress shoes didn't help either, but the sight of the young woman was enough of a distraction from that.

Yui watched as the bartender slid her drink across the bar to her, she slide her card to him and spoke with energy. "Keep it open!" Tonight was a night for her to let loose, she didn't have work scheduled tomorrow and she was ready to drink herself to a nice sleep. Yui, was by no means an alcoholic, she just loved to have a good time, and she knew when to do it and when not too. Bringing the drink to her lips, she took it down like it was nothing. She wasn't a pansy about drinking vodka straight, but she wanted to last at least a few hours without someone having to carry her to a taxi. It was by accident that she made eye contact with a man at the bar, his eyes had already been on hers, and by the look of it he had been for a while. He was a bit older then her, but not by many years, and for an older guy he was handsome. "Bartender.." she called out to him, and put her hand to the bar. "Give me two shots of your best vodka. Me and the gentlemen over there." She gestured her head towards the man starring at her.

Swinging her body towards him, she made her way through the crowd of people and leaned up against the bar next to him. A smile crossing her face, she spoke "Hey, mind taking a shot with lil ol' me?" The bartender brought the shots to them, and she handed him his and held hers up. "Names after we take them down!" If this man knew her on the job, he would be shocked at the difference in attitude she had. It was as if she were a completely different person.

Well, this was an interesting development.

The second the young lady looked over at him, and made eye contact with him, he had turned his attention outwards to the rest of the club. It was time for him to remain casual, and not come off as too much of a creep. Only a few more seconds had passed before he turned his attention back towards the direction of the young lady when, suddenly, she was a lot closer to him than he was before. In fact, she had gotten so close to him that he could actually hear her voice when she spoke. She seemed very outgoing, positive, something that Daichi smiled at before he took the shot she had to offer him.

"No complaints here!"

And with that, Daichi took back his shot without any complaints. Daichi was surprised that he felt no burning kick from the shot, something that he usually expected from a shot like this. Was this Vodka distilled from something other than grain? More on that later, but first he had to introduce himself to this young lady.

"Daichi Otsuka."

Yui grinned happily, seeing him take the shot she downed it with him. Her teeth bare as she hissed softly as it went down her throat. Shaking her head, she laughed and put the shot glass down. Leaning against the bar she put her hand out and introduced herself. "Yui. Yui Iwasawa, its a pleasure to meet you Daichi." The man was bigger then she original had thought, his body was much bigger then hers. She could see the muscles through his t-shirt and even in his legs. In Japan that was very uncommon to see a guy like him, you'd see them in America, but not here. He reminded her of a football player from the states. It was a good thing, don't get her wrong, just a sight that she missed.

"I know its more of a guy thing." She leaned forward a bit so he could hear her over the loud music. "But I saw you across the bar and I couldn't help myself but to come over" She teased, letting out a small giggle. Yui had no restraint when it came to something she wanted, or to do. Even if it wasn't a 'lady' thing, she found herself doing it anyways.

"Just teasing. But, are you from America by any chance?" She questioned because of his body build.

Daichi smiled at the young woman's name, Yui. She was definitely Japanese, but the way her blonde hair rests along her body looked nothing but natural on her. Her name was familiar to him, somehow he figured he'd heard it somewhere before but he couldn't place it anywhere. Either way, even if he hadn't heard it before anywhere else, it was still nice to hear it and be in her company all the same. The fact that she was this forward about getting to know him was a real change from some of the other ladies he's met, and even managed to bring back good memories of meeting Elizabeth (his ex-wife) for the first time.

"I spent some time over there, but I'm originally from Tokyo. How about you?"

This was definitely going to be one of the more enjoyable evenings Daichi has had in a long time.

Ah, she didn't hit it on the head exactly, but that was alright. Yui smiled and nodded her head. "I'm from America. Grew up in New York, I just recently moved here to Niwa after serving for six years." She had lived in Queens her entire life, up until she graduated from high school and instantly joined the Military. Her life was thrown for a loop during the nine eleven attacks, and she vowed that she would do all she could do to defend her country from any kind of threat that there was.

Still, Yui couldn't help but look him up and down, it made her curious. Though she wouldn't push the topic, that would make her seem very perverted. Which she wasn't in the slightest. Yui was a very proud person, who was a very independent and strong woman.

"Let me take a stab at your career."
She leaned back against the seat behind her, and crossed her long legs. Her foot swung a bit, and her hand rose to her face were her finger tapped against her cheek. "You either are a professional wrestler or a cop. Because.." She teasingly reached out and grasped onto his upper arm and squeezed it gently. "I may run away if you were coming after me." Yui chuckled.

"No shit, seriously?"

Another New Yorker? Here in a night club in Niwa? Daichi couldn't believe the odds of this happening, particularly with a woman like Yui. Everything just seemed to be going right, as evidenced by the fact that Daichi's lips were curled into what could only be described as a sincere albeit somewhat dopey smile. Daichi couldn't help but smile, particularly because Yui had been excellent at flattery, particularly with his appearance. And it seemed as if she hit the nail on the head about him being a cop, maybe something from her own experience with them? Either way, he leaned in a little closer to her and spoke in a more hushed tone.

"Funny you should mention it, I'm actually a detective here in the city. I tend not to advertise it, particularly in a place like this, because it stops people from opening up. You know?"

She laughed at his 'no shit' response, and she nodded her head with a bright smile. Her white teeth baring to him with how excited she was. This conversation was very odd for people to have at a nightclub, but hell, who cared right? "Way serious." She responded. As he continued, she couldn't believe that she had gotten it right about him being a cop! Completely understanding why someone wouldn't want to bring it up, she nodded her head and leaned forward, her cheek almost brushing against his.

"I don't blame you, but -- you know what." Turning towards the bar she told the bartender to keep her tab open and that they were going to move. "Lets go somewhere just a bit quieter." She stood up off the chair and put her hand for him to take it. If he would, she'd move across the group of people that were standing around talking and dancing around the bar. There were some booths that were around the entire nightclub, and finding one would be a challenge. Yui and Daichi were in luck though, there was one that had just opened up in the corner, and Yui quickened her step and sat down in the rounded booth. She slid over a bit and leaned her back against the cushioned booth and smiled.

Looking at Daichi, wherever he decided to sit, she smiled. "Alright, now that I'm not yelling at you to talk." Her voice was a lot lower now, he'd be able to hear the complete American accent in her voice. The low, sweet sound in her tone. "I'm also a cop, I work for the NCPD, I'm special unit though. Sniper, to be more precises."

"...no shit..."

Daichi can now place the name to where he had heard it before. Daichi heard rumors about a new hot-shot sniper being recruited by the police, but Daichi always figured the person they recruited was a guy. But seeing the slender and flattering figure of Yui and imagining her taking out targets from far distances with a big ass rifle seemed kind of...fitting. It would figure that she'd be a member of the armed forces as well, particularly in the United States. Did she see any action in the Middle East? That would explain quite a bit.

"I spent quite some time in New York as well, Manhattan mostly. I went to John Jay College, up by Columbus Circle and the south entrances of Central Park. Beautiful area, but it wasn't really the same after September 11th."
