Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

It was near 10pm when Shinji's phone went off.

If that wasn't enough to make his heart stop, the second half of the message didn't arrive for another few minutes.

Odd. But worse yet, was when it went off two minutes later.

Feel free to bring back up. Hell,
I'd think less of you if you came

Shinji's phone did not go off again after that. The random number did not respond to any messages afterwards. If called, it would go to voicemail - which Shinji would find, was not set up yet.

Several miles away, a middle aged man took another pull off his cigar, letting the cell phone drop down into the waters slapping against the docks.
He smirked, turned; collar up against the wind.

This was interesting.

Shinji figured something like this would happen some day, but as soon as the group was coming into the biggest shit storm of theirs so far? This was probably going to be a nightmarish meeting with somebody who is either going to end up blackmailing them or, worse off, sending some people off to their death. Shinji figured if the person contacting him, this "Captain" could reach him by his cell phone, then it stood to reason that he probably had access to his home address as well. Setting the messages he received aside for now, he needed to make contact with a few more people before this meeting took place. He knew two people he needed to contact immediately, those being Axel and Liam. But a little more backup would probably be necessary, probably somebody from Gavin's faction. Shinji sent out the messages to Liam and Axel without hesistation, urging them to rendezvous with Shinji as soon as they possibly could at Cerberus HQ.

Getting himself put together and getting in his car, he left his home and drove down to headquarters.

SOS. Cerberus HQ. ASAP.

Axel was in the middle of a deal with some rookie cop who thought a big revolver would save his life. Axel didn't give a fuck, money was money and Gavin had him not selling to anyone but cops and lower thugs. When he received the text he unlocked his android phone and read it. With a frown he looked up at the fresh faced cop. "Alright, lad. Buy it and get teh fok out or don't buy it and get teh fok out, either way Ah got business teh attend to and yer holdin' me up."

The kid promptly paid and was on his way, and Axel went into action. His two guards would hold down the fort while he was out, but he needed some ordinance. The text seemed short and urgent, a possible distress call. He grabbed his XM8 and the pack of attachments as well as a loaded MP5 in case Shinji was unarmed when he got there. A high powered revolver at his hip and his taurus judge tucked into his boot, he walked into the wall before walking out of the wall at cerb HQ and coming out gun raised and ready for action to find... jack shit. Axel looked at Shinji with a confused look and a short "Teh foks happenin'?"

"We've been made."

Before Shinji said anything else, he took out his own cell phone and opened up the messages for Axel to browse through and read. Leaving his phone on the table for Axel to see, Shinji took a step back in order to try and evaluate everything that had come his way thus far. Most of the possibilities either had them sitting in prison or dead in their homes, and the furthest possibility (that this guy actually wanted to help) only registered for a minute in Shinji's head. Shinji explained everything he could to Axel, as calmly as he could, but his voice betrayed only a slight hint of worry.

"It's more than likely not the police, because if they really knew who we were, they wouldn't stop to text us to come to them. Otherwise, it could be anybody else that we could have crossed paths with. I tried tracing the cell phone, but got nothing except a bunch of dead ends. But either way, somebody got to us and probably has more on us than our phone numbers."

"It ain't teh police, mate. D'ere me best customers. Do yeh tink it's t'at group we been pissin' off lately? Con't remember t'ere fookin' name though." He read through the messages, somewhat curious. It didn't sound like a straight up hit, but Axel wasn't going in half cocked. "Ah ken bring along Antony 'nd Toshi if yeh want teh lads along. Udderwise Ah'm packing enough ordinance to take teh fooker with us."

Axel was the type to try to be as prepared weapon wise as possible, though it tended to get him into trouble sometimes. He shows up with enough firepower to bring down fort knox and people automatically start shooting. "So what's teh plan? Should Ah be right at yer side or off on some tower wit' a dragonov?"

"Gentleman..." he sighed. "If this isn't life or death, I'm going to be mildly perturbed; I've got half a bottle of red wine and a lingerie model at home, with two of her friends."

Perks of being a world prodigy and philanthropist. Helps if you're foreign in another country. Can pull the 'hey, I'm famous' card, and women's clothes just start falling off. Walking down the steps into the basement, Liam didn't look his usual self; his slacks were wrinkled, his shirt untucked on one side. He'd driven here fast; apparently, eager to get back as well.

Seeing the two of them there, and no one else, his lips pursed. With the two of them talking about texts coming to Shinji's phone, he groaned, coming within a dozen feet of the table, the phone turned on by itself; but didn't move again. Liam's knuckles pressed to the table, looking up to the other two men.

"Alright, so some guy figured us out; smart enough to tag Shinji's number. Probably has mine, Axel's; knows where we are, and what we're doing. But I don't think this is Umbra," he said it with emphasis to politely answer Axel's earlier query. "If anything, Axel, you should be on the ground with Shinji and I; if anything does go wrong, you can grab us and get us out of there. Grab one of our sharpshooters from Three to cover us. We go in hot, that'll just increase our risk of putting people on edge. Traps can't stop you, if they've got anything there with a moving part, they can't stop me, and Shinji here's a smooth enough talker he could convince the Jews the holocaust probably was a good idea, in hind-sight."

He sighed, rubbing his forehead; his triforce tattoo taking precendence. "Either, A; it's a trap, and we're prepared, or B, by some random-ass stroke of luck, there's someone out there in a position to help us out. I mean, c'mon... is it that far-fetched? Even with our limited resources, we're capable of great things. Given the right tools, we could do more. Maybe this Captain fella see's that we've got potential? Or he's just a dick and we have Axel put a bullet in his brain. Either way... we're compromised, here. We gotta start packing shit up."

...the holocaust?

Not much could distract Shinji when he was on a roll with an objective, but hearing Liam's comment after his introduction was able to cause Shinji's face to curl into a question. Shrugging it off a second later, Shinji snapped his head back into the game, where the three of them continued to talk about what to do about this so called 'Captain.' The options that were valuable to them seemed few and far between, and it seemed the most logical thing to do in this situation was to go and meet with this Captain after all.

"Well now...let's sort everything out here first, then let's pay this captain a visit."

"Well, Liam, sooner we get dis over wit' teh sooner you ken get back teh yer bitches. Though if yeh manage teh mess it up, yeh ken give them Shinji's number. Got teh wonder when the last time dis fucker got laid, if ever." Axel teased, standing up and sliding the hammer back on his rifle again. "Let's go meet us a captain."

Boom

The sound was like thunder to Johnathans ears. It sent tendrils of electricity through his body as he heard it. The hard kick of the weapon made his hart beat fast as he looked down the scope of his weapon. He loved the thrill of shooting. It was like sex and almost better. He didn't know why but it was a damn good feeling every time he pulled the trigger. Only combat gave him a bigger rush.

Boom ....

Boom ....

Boom ....

Click

"Fucking damn it. Son of a fucking bitch." He said under his breath. He slowly got up and rested his rifle on his shoulder as he inspected the damage done to the target. He regretted that he didn't have more rounds left to finish carving the smiley face into the targets head. He was about half way finished with the mouth when he ran out of ammunition. He stood a little longer until the person behind him came up and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Yeah, Yeah I know. It's all yours buddy didn't mean to keep you waitin' " He said nonchalantly turning around before strolling off the firing line. He head towards the meeting room that he had stored his gear in. There he would spend the rest of his time cleaning his weapon and making sure that nothing new was going on that needed his attention before heading home.

"Anyone here?" he said as he opened the door to the room as he walked in before realizing people were actually there. "Ah fuck.... " His voice trailed off as he realized he was probably walking in on something he probably should be. "Yeah I'll just get my stuff and be on my way."
