Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

A new partnership (Yui)

Peter's car rolled up to the meeting point where he was supposed to be meeting his new partner for a mission. They were heading to investigate a rumored human trafficking ring in one of the warehouse districts. Normally this wouldn't be something they would send a small team in to break up but those being trafficked were young children.

When he saw a woman with a sniper rifle, he knew exactly who to pull up to. She would be watching his back as he moved in on the ring and she would cover him if he needed to make a quick escape. He had gotten used to driving with one eye, and his aim had gotten mostly back to what it was. He only needed one eye to aim down the sights. "Yui?" He called out to her.

If every serial killer is someone we least expect, are we safest around those we expect will kill us?

Yui had arrived just a bit earlier then the point of meeting was supposed to occur. She had been told she was partnering up with someone who had recently lost his old partner. Of course, it couldn't be more of an awkward situation for her to come into. He could be one of those people that felt that he lost one partner, he may lose another. Yui wasn't emotionally equipped to deal with that kind of thing. She lean against her dark blue motorcycle, her helmet pressed under her arm resting against her slender waist. The details about the stakeout where vague to say the least, but she got the premiss of the mission. Yui was supposed to watch this guys back, and make sure that if anything happened she would make sure to keep him safe. That was what Yui was trained for, to keep people safe and take anyone down in her line of sight that threatened the people she needed to protect. Her pitch black sniper lay against her leg, the barrel coming up just to about her elbow. Yui's hands wrapped around the base of the weapon as she noticed a car approaching.

She leaned off her bike and put her hand into the air when she heard her name being called. Yui had heard about Peter, that he had a patch and only used one eye. At first she was skeptical about how helpful he would be as a cop, but that thought passed her as she noticed he had drove to the location himself.

"That's me. Peter?" She responded, her voice very direct. She turned and sat down her helmet on top of her bike and she lifted the large sniper up into her arm and then spoke again. "I've only been given the bare minimum of what the assignment is. Anything else you can tell me before we start?"

So this was his new partner? She seemed at first glance like she was the serious type, one he could at least trust to watch his back. It was a good start. "That's me, do you want to ride with me or will you be following to the site?" She seemed to have her own ride, so if things went south they could split up and meet later.

"Get in, best not discuss in public." If she obeyed, he would roll up the window and lock the doors before continuing. "As far as I know, it is a child trafficking ring for the extra sick fucks of Niwa. Usually we leave human trafficking to the groups assigned to it, but this is a black op. If possible, we are to completely eliminate all participants of this ring and get the children out safely. A bus will be nearby to get them out discreetly should everything be successful, and then we go home and pretend it never happened. There will be no paper work, no reporting to the chief. Get in, do the job, go home, don't speak of it. Understood?"

Yui wouldn't mind riding in his car in the slightest. Leaving her motorcycle in a well lit, decent part of town wouldn't be any skin of her back. She retrieved her helmet and followed him into his car, once inside she slammed the door shut and threw her helmet into the back seat. Her legs were covered with black jeggings and she wore a black jacket that she unzipped once she sat into the car. Under was a skin tight white tank top, around her neck was a chain that had a dog tag attached to it. Moving her hair back behind her shoulders she leaned her head against the headrest and listened in on Peter talk about the assignment. This sounded like her last assignment in Iraq, something that she couldn't speak of out loud, but it sounded familiar with the whole: No paperwork, no nothing. Just get the job done and go. Nodding her head, Yui looked across from her at Peter and spoke.

"I'll keep you covered, Peter."
She took a deep breath in and rested her hands into her lap. "Let's not waste anymore time." Her hands gripped around her rifle, letting it rest between her legs. This assignment sounded big, it surprised her that they would send a newbie out on something like this. Whatever the reason they decided to stick her with Peter, and put her on the case, she would do what needed to be done.

He nodded, putting the car in gear. "Good to hear, let's go." He drove off, heading toward the mission site. She may have been a newbie by rank standards, but she had a history that made her perfect for the job. Being new to the force made her a good candidate for black ops, an ideal partner for Peter.

As they pulled into the warehouse district, he parked the car, moving to get out and grabbing the G36C assault rifle in the back seat as well as his ammo pack. "Find a good vantage point for warehouse 18. Radio me when you are in position, and then we will engage radio silence."

Nodding her head, Yui was quick to judge this guy. He was very professional like she was, she need not worry about anything emotionally occurring. As the car stopped, she opened the door and swung her legs out. Her hands gripping her weapon as she made her way out of the car and listened in on Peter. She nodded. It was good to give her an advantage point in advance, she figured that he has worked with a few snipers before. Yui made her way up the ladder that headed up on to a storage unit. Adjusting herself before she lay her body against the cold metal until, and propped up the stand for her baby. Moving her hair across her body and letting it drift in the wind she looked down the scoop, adjusting it to look straight at Peter's head.

She put her hand up to her ear and spoke into the headset. Her voice at just the right tone for him to hear, but still quiet enough so it wouldn't echo. "Confirmed. You are clear to move in." Yui moved her hand back down and began looking around the area. She didn't notice anyone yet, everything seemed to be pretty quiet. Like they say, its always quietest before the storm.

Knowing that she likely had him in her sights, he simply gave a thumbs up and motioned that he was moving. It was dark, dark enough for his other eye to come out. He lifted the patch, his eye immediately giving him better night vision due to the light sensitivity. His depth perception returned now that both eyes were giving input, and he moved forward.

He was swat trained, and had even been approached by the military for his skills, but the life of a cop was what he knew. In this city, it had enough action to it to feel like being a soldier anyway. He could hear voices inside, and a large truck pulled up with the latest batch of children for processing. He would need to take a prisoner...

He beat his chest with his fist, signaling an order. Holding up one finger he patted his leg, signaling to shoot one in the leg for questioning. Would she understand? He could only hope so. He closed his left eye, cracking open the door. No kids inside, three guards inside, the rest were standing outside. He needed to act before the children were loaded off the truck and put into harms way. He pulled a flashbang off his belt and tossed it into the circle of men making a deal, pulling on his eye patch again as it went of, scattering the men. He opened fire on the three guards inside, making it an outside battle. Good, his sniper would be able to fully cover him.

Yui took a deep breath and steadied her hands as she began to focus on the task ahead of her. Watching as everything unfolded through her scope she aimed at the first man and shot straight for the heart, hitting the target easily. She knew to keep one alive for questioning, but for the other scumbags, they didn't need to see another day. Yui's arms moved the sniper slightly to the left watched as Peter came back out of the warehouse, a couple men coming out after him. Taking sight, her ability kicked in, a dotted line focused straight at a man pulling his gun up to shoot at Peter. Yui pulled the trigger, sending a bullet straight through the mans head, splattering the brains against the ground. There were a lot more men then Peter had originally seen, either that or he vastly over estimated her abilities. She scoped down a few more zooms and saw a stock pile of men with guns heading in his direction; about eight of them. She bare her teeth and moved her hand up.

"Peter! Get to cover now!" She quickly put her hand back to the sniper and aimed down rage. If she could just take out the front one's, it would become a domino effect. Taking a deep breath, she lay her finger again on the trigger, and tapped it down. Sending the caliber through the air, past Peter and the other guard heading out of the warehouse. Another shot was fired. And another. All three hit the targets in front, sending the men to the ground. Just as she thought, they began falling all over themselves. Hitting the ground hard. Yui set her sights to the one that had just exited the building and focused in on his knee. Her hyperkinesis kicked in once more and she shot, blowing his knee out.

All Peter would have to do is execute the five guys quickly that just tripped over each other.

Peter grinned as she seemed to panic about the large number of enemies. He knew full well that they were there, but ti seemed she had not been briefed on his abilities.

As more men came around the building and opened fire, Peter stood calmly as a barrier appeared in front of him. The barrier was 8 feet tall, 4 feet wide, and nearly indestructible as bullets hit it, lost their momentum, and just fell to the ground. As all these men reloaded, he raised his rifle and opened up, performing a downright massacre. How many rounds did one magazine in that rifle hold? He was actually impressed. The barrier fell as he moved behind a metal crate before leaning out with a handgun to put a bullet in the leg of the fleeing truck driver.

He put a hand to his ear, cuing the radio. "All clear on sight, keep an overwatch."

Yui let out a sigh and scratched her forehead a bit before heading back down her scope. She wasn't used to people having special abilities, and if something like that occurred without them having that barrier ability...it wouldn't have ended so nicely. She did as Peter instructed, kept an eye out. She knew what was about to go down, interrogations were the best part of the job if done correctly, and done to the appropriate people. The bullets were sure to give off what was going on, Peter needed to work quickly. She made sure not to bother him during this time.
