Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

"Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit!" A man dressed in a black suit cursed at himself while quickly making his way along the path of the bridge.

"What the fuck was that!?" he thought aloud, wincing with each step. His strides were short and his left arm wrapped with a bloody necktie. He was clearly stressed and scared, but adrenaline made him a man of the moment. His body was in flight-or-fight mode, and the man made the better decision of choosing flight. There was no way he'd stand a chance against that... thing. However, the blood loss was already starting to make its mark on the man. His face was drenched in cold sweat and his lips had long since lost their reddish hue. He kept turning to his back to see if something was behind him.

Something was chasing after him.

His cell phone was lost in the waters below, and for that he blamed his own stupidity. He had to find a pay phone. He had to find help. Cars whizzed by without providing a single glance of concern. Never had a man felt so alone in such a crowded place. The few people that he bumped into on the bridge knew better than to get themselves involved. They merely looked at him--judged him as a gangster by the kanji characters tattooed on his forearm--and went on about their lives. He didn't stop. He kept on moving, frantically pacing his way across the bridge...

"Fuck fuck fuck!" he cursed out again, feeling the stinging sensation of the cut on his arm burn with every single movement he made.

Yui couldn't wait for the man to respond to her question as the white haired girl came at her again. Wasting no time, she shoved the man away and braced herself for impact from the girl. Though Yui was strong, she wasn't inhumanly strong. She could do some good hand to hand combat with a human and have a decent chance of winning, but this thing didn't seem human. It was obvious that she needed to use some kind of strategic tactic to bring her down. Bullets weren't doing anything to subdue the girl, and that was the only weapons at least she had. Yui took a deep breath and let it out slowly...

The girl brought her long sword straight at Yui, her hyperkinetics kicked in and she moved her body swiftly to the left, barely missing the sharp blade across her face. Yui stuck her leg out and tripped up the girl, her momentum would send the white haired girl into a stumble, though she didn't go down. Yui took the opportunity to attack her from behind, grabbing the white haired girl around her neck and pulling her tightly into a chock hold. Yui, was no fool, her other arm wrapped around the arm that had the blade and locked it into a immobile position.

The white haired girl was strong, giving Yui a run for her money as she tried to hold onto her. What the hell was this thing? Yui out sized her two to one, and she was barely being able to hold onto her. "Ahh! Nnnn!" She grunted, trying to hold onto the girl, she turned her head towards the guy that was first there to help and spoke loudly.

"Shoot her!" She spoke loudly, normally a cop would not give the order for a civilian to shoot, but in this case, it was necessary. If she got loose from Yui's grasp, she may swing that long blade and slice her head off. It was a very dangerous position Yui was in, but it had to be done. Locking the white haired girl into place was the only option to put her down. "Hurry!"

Hopefully he would shoot her, if not, Yui would attempt to roll away the first chance she got.

Being shoved out of the way likely had the opposite effect she intended. John WAS inhumanly strong, and would have been better to grapple with the girl. They wound up on the ground together, fighting and struggling as he reloaded. He had one additional magazine after this, so hopefully it would be enough. On the officer's command he aimed the barrel at the strange girl's forehead and put three rounds in it.

He backed away, giving her room to get away if it didn't work.

If every serial killer is someone we least expect, are we safest around those we expect will kill us?

The shots whizzed into the thick skull of the white haired girl. Her head, along with her long white silken hair, jerked back with a fierce stumble. Her screaming subsided, and her body fell backwards lifelessly from the female officer. The howling stopped, and the golden glow of the girl's eyes faded slightly. Not that they looked very much alive before, but they were no longer shining brightly. The three shots in succession put the girl down effectively. And just like that, the tension disappeared. The still body plopped onto the hard concrete--it sounded like a sack of potatoes. Strangely, though, her blade remained firmly gripped in her hand.

For the man already accepting of death, he felt something else within him disappear. That nagging fear that pressed him closer and closer to taking his own life, to frantically searching for some sort of remedy to this menacing little girl; it all faded. His strange infatuation with the acceptance of death was gone, as the man spat out his cigarette and opened his eyes wide. He was wounded and bleeding! He could feel the pain of life surge through his veins.

"What... what the fuck just happened?" Hayate called out to the two people in front of him. His hand reached out to them, grasping nothing but air. He was in disbelief. Did these two somehow manage to fend off the beast?

"Is she... is she dead?"

Yui watched as the man came up to her and pointed the gun right at the white haired girls head, and shot. The sounds of the bullets rang throughout her head as she tossed the girl lifeless to the ground. Yui picked herself up off her knee's and put her hands to her head where she attempted to compose herself. Taking a deep breath and letting it out, she turned towards the lifeless girl. There was no way someone could survive that kind of attack, even if she wasn't human, the brain was what kept the body running. Even zombies died from being shot in the head. Come on now.

"Good job." Rolling her eyes, still trying to get the ringing out of her head she walked towards the injured man. Finally, the sounds of sirens could be heard coming around the corner. Bending down onto one knee, she looked at the wrapped up wound and then nodded her head. "You'll be alright. As far as that thing, I'm only hoping."

The ambulance came around, along with a few back up cop cars. Yui stood up and turned from him and headed over towards the white haired girl, which she noticed was still holding onto her blade. Squinting her eyes, Yui cautiously walked over towards her. Holding her gun in her hand she bent down, and put her hand up to the girls throat to check for a pulse.

John put his gun away, seeing the girl cease to be a threat. He heard sirens in the distance, and the cop was already tending to the injured man. By time the ambulance and the cop cars turned the corner, John had vanished from sight.

Yui would feel a subtle vibration. A low hum churning from within the hollow body gave signs of... life? It was hard to truly tell, but the body that the officer had helped put down truly seemed dead. Yet, somehow, the low humming persisted. The white-haired girl remained still, but her body began to glow. A faint white glow that made the crazed knife-weilding howling girl seem like a sleeping angel by the way she lied.

Suddenly, the glow brightened. It wrapped around the girl's body and began to fade like luminous pure-white sand being swept away by the wind. The girl soon disappeared. Every single strand of hair faded into the dark, as well as her heavy dark blade. Just like that, she had disappeared without a trace. But where? Where would she return?

"Fuck." Hayate cursed, gripping at his side. The ambulance arrived, and the strange man who fought beside the officer disappeared. Everything was happening so quickly, and Hayate's loss of blood was hindering his capability to comprehend the situation before him. The paramedics were swift to tend to the man, but his eyes remained steadied on the young female officer who saved his life.

"Hey, Officer." he called out to her, trying futilely to stall the paramedics from tossing the man into the ambulance.

Yui was in shock as the white haired girl flashed a bright light, and disappeared. Covering her eyes with her arm she let out a grunt and backed up. Now, not only was there ringing in her ears, now she was seeing a bright ball of light in her immediate vision. Trying to not let the fact the girl got away get to her, she tucked her gun into the back of her pants and turned towards the ambulance where the man was trying to get her attention. Yui raised her hands to the paramedics and yelled out. "I'll accompany him. So hold on." She moved towards an officer that was writing something down on a pad of paper, and she began speaking to him. "I'm going to go with that man. I'll need another officer to take my bike back to the station." She pulled out her keys and pointed over towards her motorcycle and gave the man a stern look. "It better be there exactly how it is right now." With that, she turned from the officer and headed off towards the ambulance where she bent over and pulled herself in. Sitting to the side, she watched as the paramedic attended to the man.

While she waited for a second, she rubbed her eyes with her thumb and index finger. Leaning forward she let out a sigh, rested her elbows on her knees. Looking at the man, she gave him that look for him to wait before he began talking. Once he was set up to the IV and he was stabilizing, the paramedic hoped into the front and the back door shut. Yui pushed the plastic sliding door to the back of the ambulance shut so that their conversation would be private.

With one last sigh, she leaned up and began talking. "I'm not a regular police officer, and whatever you say to me here will not be used against you in court." All Yui cared about at that moment, was getting to the bottom of what had occurred minutes before she found the man running for his life. "I want to know what happened prior to me arriving at the scene with you. Also, who was that, and why was she attacking you?" Her voice was stern, and straight forward. No emotion could be read on her face.
