Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

It had been a few days since her last run, and it was certainly something she needed. Badly. Stress had been making her rather agitated lately, on-edge with everyone, including her brother. Her poor co-workers...One of the girls had left Fresh last night in hysterical tears over some of Aishe's cut-throat commentary. Normally, she tried not to play too roughly with the emotions of some of the scum she worked with, but in the end, it would toughen them up and hopefully eventually push them to do something better. Besides, she got more stage time when they left in tears, and she liked easy money.

Normally, she'd work tonight, too, but she was out here, all the way out of the city, just within range to catch the scent of the cool waters of the waterfall, even now. Donning a pair of slightly-baggy jeans and a t-shirt, any normal human might be cold right then, but the petite woman was hardly normal. Her bloodline, overall, kept her insides burning all the time, constantly, and as she got further out, her heart pumped more in anticipation.

It wasn't until she got to the water's edge, though, that she humored it at all.

She found herself sitting at the water's edge for a moment, looking down into it. For a second, she considered her primary option - stripping to nothing and letting herself transform into her lycan state, and sprinking through the wilderness, maybe finding something to snack on... But she didn't want to leave her clothes out in the open, and beyond that, you never knew who was out here, and she certainly wasn't walking back home naked.

Weighing the options, she took in the serenity of the place for a few minutes, looking over her reflection in the water, watching the gold flecks in her green eyes become more profound. She needed the run, regardless of how she got it. Her hands moved to remove her shirt, but she caught a familiar scent... Not familiar as in someone she'd met before, but familiar of the species, of the type of smell that accompanied one's own scent, like a genetic cologne.

She hadn't caught it any time before, but then again, it had been a few days. She hesitated and returned her shirt to its original resting place, an agitated look on her face and a low, feral sound emitted from her throat. She wouldn't turn just yet - maybe she was mistaken, though she doubted that highly.

There was another lycan out here, and Aishe wasn't one who particularly enjoyed sharing.

A soft chuckle leaves the male's throat. His golden eye watching her from where he was. "Ah.. No need to stop the show on my behalf." He could smell it. Feral, toxic, she was everything he was. It was a relief to know there were others in the city like him, but at the same time, others like him could run wild and expose others. He clenched his hand a bit and pushes off the tree he had been leaning on. He strode out, his usual coat resting over his shoulders, giving him a much more defining look. The patch over his eye was something one didn't see to often as well.

Opening his hand, he moves it out, giving a rather polite bow, his golden eye never left it's sight of her. "Greetings. I'm Takashi.. As you've probably already guessed, we're very much alike.." He wouldn't reveal the exact nature of himself yet. He loved the shocked expression on others faces when he shifted. He knew she knew what he is, but he was sure she didn't know what type he was. Coming up from the bow, he crosses his arms over his chest, staring at her coldly. "Perhaps it'd be best if you introduce yourself as well, instead of growling towards me." He teased her openly, waiting for a response.

"I don't have all day, pup."

"Oh, I do quite disagree. After all, mother always told me not to trust the wolf alone in the wood. It's often the hungriest of them all." She spoke calmly enough, despite the growls from earlier and the continued skeptical and guarded visage. She watched his bow carefully, noting the different features of this one. The eye patch caught her, certainly, but she didn't care to inquire about it too much.

Then he was speaking again, and her eyes narrowed slightly once more.

"Just who do you think you're calling a pup, hm?" The inquiry was rather cutting, her temper seemed short today. This little set back was costing her valuable hours, minutes, seconds.

She stood up, a pop sounding from the base of her neck. She wasn't turning, it was simply stiff and the sudden movement caused the noise. Still, she seemed rather defensive - she didn't need to know what type of wolf he was to know he was one, and gauging him even now in this state, she was on guard. She wasn't stupid, she wasn't going to test her luck, but if a fight started, she already had a handful of ideas on what to do to get back out of the situation.

"My name is Aishe, and I can practically guarantee we're nothing alike." It was said with an odd precision, a clear defiance. He was clearly bigger, but that didn't always mean stronger or faster. Still, she made no move to step closer, wary of other wolves for the most part as it was, and then this one caught her off-guard...

Today was not her day.

He smirks at her open anger. The animosity was a bit annoying, yet he'd ignore it for the most part. His gaze turns back to her as he had been distracted on what to say. "Aishe, huh? An interesting name.. given the region. I'm Takashi. Are you from around here?" He inquired as he walks forward a bit from his tree. He was clothed in what could only be assumed normal clothing. His coat seemed large and heavy as the bottom of it hardly moved despite him walking. He closes his eyes after reaching a distance. "You are a wolf, correct? If so then Pup remains the nickname, Miss Aishe." He teased her as he folds his arms back over his chest.

There was a small hiss of a 'tsk' under her breath as he insisted on calling her Pup - that was irritating, she was no child, that was for certain. She watched his movements still, wary of him. This was her place, what the hell was another wolf doing here? Granted, it wasn't hers, property-wise, but she frequented the area more than enough.

"I live in Niwa, yes. But no, I was born somewhere in Germany, as I understand it." She'd adapted well to hiding her accent a bit within the city's confines, however here her accent wasn't nearly as subtle, a hint of German and influenced by the accent of her Rrom caravan. Her tone, however, had become slightly more mild the closer he got, which in and of itself was odd. She remained suspicious of him - hell, she remained suspicious of everyone aside from her own brother who was not even her own, but she had simmered down some, rethinking the situation. Perhaps another wolf in the immediate area might not prove to be trouble at all, it might even prove beneficial down the line, once she was better aquainted.

With that in mind, she seemed to smirk some herself now.

"If that's the logic you're using, though, as basis for your little pet name, then you are a Whelp in my eyes, Takashi. Granted," she shifted on her feet a little, before sitting herself back down, not entirely dropping her guard, but she was an excellent actress in the fact of how relaxed she could make herself appear, and progressively since he'd last spoken she'd had time to think, rationalize, and relax - the fact that only the first two were accomplished was hardly a problem, and her mind was still racing.

She continued, "I am still curious just why you're all the way out here, in the middle of nowhere, and in a place I frequent. Surely you had to have picked up the scent as soon as you got out here. You aren't trying to snatch away my little paradise here for yourself, are you? Or perhaps your motives were different than even that. Hell, maybe there was no motive at all, perhaps we're just having a misunderstanding, hm?" The questions weren't posed in an interrogative fashion, really, simply shifting the conversation. Still, the clock was ticking, and her not having her run or her hunt after a few days seemed to be causing some hellish mood swings with her, certainly worse than any she'd had previously.

"You'll have to excuse my hostility, I've been a bit on-edge lately, and this is cutting quite a bit into my personal time. Although, if you aren't planning to pose a threat, perhaps you'd like to join me?"

"German, huh... I've been there recently." He made the small comment while gazing at the water. His thoughts relaxed. He could almost smell the trepidation in the air about her. His gaze turned to look back at her, listening as she spoke and smiles a bit, chuckling. "Whelp, huh... Better than being called a pup~" He continued to tease her with the name. He was relaxed as far as she could see. His shoulders slightly slumped and his posture just indicating that he was standing. Mulling over her information she poured out to him, she questioned him about his presence.

"So that smell was you then? I haven't really encountered other wolves before, so I'm still getting used to this whole thing. I never would have thought creatures like us could exist until I was attacked. Funny how irony works though, considering my family." He toys with the idea in his mind. "Frankly the scent smelled more like something natural and pleasant. Berries? Hmm.. I was really heading to the falls here.. It's been almost four years since I was last in Niwa, figured I'd take a look at some familiar sights."

He tilts his head quizzically at her question about joining her. "Oh? What did you have in mind, gorgeous?"

"Ah-hah, I see..." The light laugh at the beginning of her words indicated that she was mildly amused by something he'd said. So he'd been turned, not born into it... She knew she'd never been bitten, though she had only started showing her signs as she got older. She knew she was born with the blood of a lycan. Still, the way he spoke and moved the general presence of him... He was meant to be one, despite the difference of how he came into it.

Still, she moved again, the first time she'd taken her eyes off him since she'd realized he was there. "I'm going for a run, normally I go every day, but things have been rather hectic lately." She explained with a shrug, kicking off her shoes then and setting them aside carefully, before getting to her feet and turning her back to him to remove her shirt. After all, she got paid to take her clothes off for people, he wasn't getting a free show like that.

"Or you could stay and guard my clothes like a good little puppy, just don't chew on them." She smirked, teasing.

He heard the laugh and smiled. "Ah.. It's a nice laugh you have." He was pleased by the slight smile behind them, even if it was at his expense. He turns his gaze to the side and moves a bit to the side, as if thinking. "A run..." He smiles. "So do you strip naked to.." He was cut off as he turned to look, catching the side of her breast with his gaze. She was still half hidden from being turned around. He blushed a bit and thinks it over. "Well.. I might join you.. But I can't promise anything." He smirks and takes his coat off, tossing it to a nearby rock, the grass shooting away from it as it slams hard into the ground, like dropping a heavy bag.

He takes off his shirt and begins to remove his shoes and pants. "Just try to keep up then."

"Well there's no point in ruining a new set of clothes every night, is there?" She asked lightly, shrugging a bit and glancing over as she heard the shift of clothes and his jacket hitting the ground. Well, it seemed she certainly had her answer. "I think you'll have more trouble keeping up with me, sweetheart." It was a playful jab - he was larger than she was, certainly, but she was petite and surprisingly agile, and it was only enhanced when she shifted.

In the moments following, she'd removed her pants, socks, and underwear, stretching a little for a moment and glancing up to the sky hidden by the trees. After that, things changed, quickly. Cartilage was snapped and molded to accommodate her changing form, bones readjusting themselves and muscles tensing and pulsating. Her hair changed, turning to a rustic brown shade, and covering her body. Her eyes were purely that golden color now, her green faded to rings just along the edge of her irises. She was taller, notably, or just a moment while she was still standing upright, but then she dropped to all four paws, tail whipping behind her as her teeth grew and her nails turned to claws. It took about a minute and a half, in all, for the transformation to complete, and she was whining a little for a moment after, her tail whipping in frustration. How it still hurt after all this time was beyond her.

She turned to face Takashi a bit, ears perked up as she licked her muzzle a bit. Then the wolf seemed to almost grin, and she didn't wait, instead taking off into the wilderness with a surprising speed.

After undressing, he kept a watchful eye on her body, staring her over. A soft smile crosses his lips and watches her shift. He stares for a moment and watches her dash off. The scents and smells he got, this presence. He grips his chest and kneels down, roaring out in pain as he begins to shift, growing larger and warping. He grips his claws into the ground and bolts after her, following her scent. She was a wolf, yet he was a hunter. His eye patch remained stuck to his head, the band stretching but not coming off. The scar underneath became apparent with his wolfish-head.
