Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

The odd thing may have been that she hadn't cried. Not once. There were no tear stains on her cheeks, her eyes were glossed over but not red with the usual puffiness that comes with the expected reaction when a tragedy happens. She hadn't said a word all day, not to anyone, and she hadn't been answering her cell phone or her Bangle. She had given one-word responses to the police, simple yes or no answers to some much more complicated questions, but they couldn't blame her, it couldn't be helped.

She'd received the call at school, the director had interrupted her class and called her out. She knew it wasn't good news, not from her powers in the slightest (which was odd... she knew she'd had a bad feeling in the morning when she first woke up, but she simply attributed that to the fact that she hadn't slept well because her grandfather had needed medication throughout the night, and kept forgetting where it was or what it was, so she was frequently up to help him), but simply by his tone, and he wouldn't look her in the eye. Normally, he had no problem with that. He told her to grab her things, and follow him to the administration office. It was odd, as well, that they were the only two in there - not even the secretaries had stuck around to gossip as they normally did. He told her, and dismissed her home, or what was left of it, rather. She left without saying a word - no asking how, no why, no hysterics of any sort. She had just looked shocked for a moment, before silently nodding and leaving the campus. When she arrived at the apartment, only her grandparent's apartment had caught fire, there was no evidence of anything, and there was barely enough left of their bodies to determine if they were dead when the fires started, or if they were alive and burned to death.

If anything, Aislin was somewhat glad for that much - she wanted to be ignorant of someone murdering her caretakers, but she also didn't want to imagine them burning alive and unable to flee or call for help, for the sake of both of them being bedridden for the last three days or so.

And now she was standing on the street corner, staring down at a slip of paper, but not really seeing it. This was the address, but she wasn't sure what she was expecting. This was the only place she figured she could go, though, at least for the time being, at least until she got her head back on straight and had time to think. Time to figure out where she'd go or what she'd do, what there was to even do about it all.

She shifted the backpack on her shoulders uneasily, chewing her lip a bit. All she'd taken out of the apartment today was her books and an extra jacket, it was cold today, especially with the setting sun. Oddly enough, however, she wasn't wearing it - it was still folded in her bag, waiting for its purpose to be fulfilled, but she was too numb to care about it all. The bite of the cold evening breeze didn't hinder her much, if at all, and if it did, she certainly didn't show it. Hell, she didn't show much of anything right now, her face was eerily blank, distant. She didn't even realize she'd started walking toward the house, but suddenly she was there, at the door, and she tore her eyes from the paper long enough to stare at the door. She hesitated, then brought a shaking hand to it, tapped three times. She didn't have the strength right now to make an audible noise - the doorbell met her fingertip the next moment in the day's waning sunlight.

It was times like these that she was glad that red hair of hers fell haphazardly and whipped freely around in the wind - she wouldn't have to look him dead-on, and if she started losing it, started crying, he wouldn't see it.

The numbness was starting to fade away, just a bit, and she felt a pain in her chest.

She should've stayed home today, maybe then her grandparents wouldn't be...

"Yeh, but I put some weird combinations on mine, so a' least gi--" she stopped, pretty much dead in her tracks, blinking a bit. And for a few moments, she said absolutely nothing, just staring at him wide-eyed like a deer in the headlights.

"Uhm... Er, Shinji... Ye'r...Ye'r not wearin' any..clothes..." She pointed out, rather obviously at that. The redhead was fairly certain her face was on fire, but no, nothing that simple. No, she was just blushing a shade that rivalled her hair color and made her freckles practically invisible on her cheeks.

"Ri-right...Sorry, uhm... I'm gonna' go an' order the...yeh..." She was stammering a little, looking pretty much anywhere off of him once she got her senses back, and eventually turning, after nearly bumping into a wall. First she invaded his room, now she saw him naked...

Today was certainly interesting. If things kept up at this rate, he'd kill her by the end of the week, she knew it.

"...No. No I'm not."

Shinji had almost completely forgotten that this would be something new for her, the economics of living with a roommate instead of parental figures. Shinji watched as Aislin's face lit up like a bright light, almost immediately followed by the act of her running out. But she stood there for a little, looking him over...was it possible that she actually liked what she saw? Gently walking across the floor, Shinji stood in front of her again, this time looking her dead in the eyes.

"Does this...frighten you?"

Aislin blinked, staring him in the eye for a moment as he asked his question. She could look away again, but at the same time she was almost concerned that she might start staring again, but at a completely different part of him.

"N-no, not...No' exactly." She answered, though her voice was a little shaken off its norm. To be honest, she'd simply never taken a complete look at the male anatomy. She was old enough to have had the chance at some point, certainly, but she'd just never had a huge interest in it and had, until moving to Niwa, kept herself readily busy. So while most people her age had had a run-in with the opposite sex in this form, she had remained exceptionally naive.

"It's just... um..." And there she was getting distracted, her eyes starting to wander, before she squeezed them shut a moment, mentally scolding herself. This was her boss, for crying out loud. Well, at least the guy she took orders from. "S-sorry, um... Are ye mad?" Stupid question, probably. Hell, she figured she'd probably be mad and embarassed if someone just wandered in on her being naked, too. Hell, but it's not like he'd been somewhere particularly private, right?

"Of course not. It's to be expected, really."

Shinji smiled and nodded, watching as Aislin stood there and tried not to freak the fuck out and faint on seeing his naked body up close. Shinji was more surprised that she didn't ask about the scars, but he figured she may not have noticed them in the heat of the moment. Stepping back away from her a little bit, Shinji decided to give the young woman some breathing room as he spoke to her, his penis just sort of flapping and now probably within her regular view of him.

"I invited you into my home to stay with me, so I figured something like this was bound to happen at one point or another. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, after all...we are just two people. But why does this make you so nervous?"

Okay, that was good, he wasn't mad, and he wasn't going to rip her head off or anything. That was good. That allowed her to relax, if only a very little amount, before he backed up and spoke again. He sounded almost too calm about all of this, which was odd in itself, but that was something else she couldn't wrap her head around just now.

"Wh-what? Me? Nervous? No, no...Erm... Maybe a little..." She was still blushing, looking up to his face again and swearing at herself mentally to keep herself focused on anywhere above the belt. Well, the belt wasn't there... No, that wasn't an excuse!

"I just... It's kin'a weird, I guess... Ye'r my faction leader, after all, aye? An' it's no' like I'm sleepin' with ye, s'far as I un'nerstand it, tha's th' only time ye'r supposed ta' see someone naked, yeh?"

"I'm a faction leader, yes. But my title as a faction leader is also a made up title for somebody like me in an organization where a hierarchy is necessary. But in this house, right now, I'm just Shinji Ito."

Shinji had a bit of a soft smile on his face as he looked down at his naked body, not so much paying attention to his penis but rather to the scars he still had. Shinji had never thought he'd be able to wear this scars as a mark of pride, but here he was, proudly displaying himself to a young woman who didn't gasp or turn away out of disgust at first. This was the kind of reaction that money could never buy, a real first time experience with someone like Aislin.

"I'm surprised you haven't asked about the scars yet."

What he said, oddly enough, had made sense. He didn't wear the title all of the time, just when it was convenient or necessary for his work with the organization. While she was evidently embarassed enough for the both of them, she calmed down a little bit. Okay, so at home, he wasn't her boss, so much as a room mate. Or, well, the guy letting her crash at his house until she figured her own shit out. Okay, she could handle that scenario now.

And then he mentioned the scars, and she blinked a little. Truth be told, she'd been so worked up and nervous and embarassed about looking anywhere else, she hadn't immediately noticed the scars. But when she glanced down at him, and actually looked at him without blushing and immediately averting her eyes (granted, the blush remained pasted on her cheeks), she saw them.

"D'ye wan'ta tell me what 'appened...?" She asked, a little quietly, though the blush was fading and her eyes were locked on the various scars across him. And then without even thinking, she'd reclaimed the distance between them, started to reach over, then hesitated, suddenly blushing a little and bringing her hand back, taking a step back once more. "S-sorry.. Can I..?" An odd request, to be sure, but so far just going on a whim had gotten her in nothing but what should have been a lot of trouble.

"Of course."

But Shinji never waited for her to take her own intiative, instead taking her hand gently and letting the tips of her fingers trace over his hip, where the end of one of the scars began. Shinji removed his hand from hers, and he let his muscles tense up a little. She was very innocent, and obviously didn't have much in the way of experience when it came to being in a psuedo-sexual position. For now, Shinji treated this casually, letting her touch his scars as much as she wanted.

"My abilities were never something I asked for. Instead, my father had taken the opportunity he had to test something he had developed on me, after what I originally thought was a lapse in sanity. He cut me open while I was strapped to a table, took my insides out and put me back together in his image. Everything he put inside me, as well as the device in the cabinet over there help me take on another person's appearance."

Shinji nodded towards one of small cabinets in the kitchen, standing still in order for Aislin to continue tracing her fingers on his scars.

Aislin's eyes carefully followed along each scar, then settled on the one he held her fingers to, a little nervous again, though he seemed to be insisting. Recovering the step she'd taken back from before, she stood a bit closer, running her fingertips along his scars, and having felt him tense up a bit after a moment, she deemed that she'd be extra careful with them. Maybe they were, somehow, still sensitive? She wasn't sure, but didn't ask, letting him speak.

"So, ye' weren't born a meta... Yer dad made ye' inta' one?" The question was asked slowly, quietly... Almost carefully, really, more than anything. It wasn't that she was confused, more like she was bewildered. Metas could be created? That was new to her, to her knowledge all of the metas she had met, including herself, were born and developed the powers naturally from there. After all, she'd never had brain surgery.

"So tha's why ye' said ye' canna' go back to California... Ye' doona' know wha' he put in ye'..." she murmured, continuing to run her fingers carefully along his scars, apparently completely ignoring the fact that he was still naked infront of her.

"Wha's in teh cabinet, exactly..?" She asked, looking back up to his face to look him in the eyes. It was odd, she had an almost blank curiosity. She did feel bad for what had happened to him, that much was apparent in how she spoke and how careful she was being with him. The curiosity was more of how someone could butcher their child for their own gain, and more than that, what Shinji had done to his father once he was released off that operating table. But she didn't want to ask. She wasn't sure why, but she just didn't want to ask, maybe because she feared the worst. Granted, his old man would have thoroughly deserved it.

"Correct."

"That's right."

"The device interacts with my target and myself, allowing me to take on the attributes of the person I want to turn into."

Shinji had answered all of her questions in the order she asked them, his body still reacting to her very gentle and curious touch. Shinji didn't want to tell her how exactly the device worked, mostly because he wanted to preserve her the way she was in this very moment. Almost on an involuntary note, however, Shinji's body was reacting to her touch. Shinji was becoming hard because of her, and the more she just stood there and looked over him, the more he ended up wanting her. Shinji took the opportunity to reach out and let his fingers run through her natural red hair.

"I'm glad you came to me tonight."
