| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Oh what a muscly arm Mr. Strongman had! Yang watched their current chairman dangle precariously from it with a hidden scowl. Drunken men always irked her. There was just no point in arguing with them. Every well thought out burn would be easily deflected by shit that made no sense. Besides, they would just forget about it the next morning, and at the end of the day, leave their poor sober friends with all the burden carrying this undue stress. What kind of example is this? Shame on you, Mr Chairman! But.... if she had to admit it, Yang was feeling a pretty good buzz from the whiskey earlier. She looked up at Steve, marching away like a man on a mission and felt... 'lost for words,' is one way to put it. And Alice, well, she seemed to be handling herself okay. Occasionally needing the gentle push in the right direction and not plastered to the floor. Yang found that easy to work with. She didn't know if it was a good idea for those two to stay together, but it seemed like the easiest thing to do right now so that's why a drunken Alice came along for the journey. In the tiny hours of the morning, a mismatching group of foreigners hobbled on the scummy streets of chinatown. Their voices resonating through the old-timey buildings as they figured out how to get to Jin Tsui's house. ![]()

"Gardens are for flowers," Steve protested. "And Jin ain't no flower. I can't speak for Alice." Steve is still unsure why Yang keeps on insisting that they go to the garden. Their fearless chairman was no hobo; he had to have some sort of mansion or something. A way to show off his power and influence. They followed Jin's slurred direction into Chinatown, walking the late-night streets. Jin still hung over Steve's shoulder, unable to walk since they left the club. Although Steve knew Jin could probably handle his liquor, he wondered how much of a killer hangover Jin was going to have in the morning. Maybe Steve could stop by and give him something to help it, like bacon. That'd give him more brownie points. "How are you holding up back there, buddy?" he asked Jin. |

Incoherent mumbling. A burp. Jin was still much too drunk to function properly. All he knew was that he was feeling weightlessness. His eyes slowly slid open to take in the view of something more familiar. Beautiful calligraphy of Chinese characters. Dragons dancing around bright red lanterns. Short, stout, silent men with more wrinkles on their faces than hair on their head. These were the streets of Niwa's Chinatown. An all-too-familiar place for Jin Tsui. Chairman or not, the man had spent much of his years in this part of the city, either breaking bones for money or "campaigning". Or... this was a magical land. That made more sense. He felt ethereal at this point, his body was weightless, and he felt as though the whole world was a vibrant kind of blurred beauty. The lights shone like Gods coming down from heaven, and the disgusting smell of runoff water from fish markets was blunted. In Jin's mind, he was a wuxia. He had somehow managed to find himself into a dream world of WuXia heroes of an Ancient China. Even his friends were by his side--Alice, Yang, and the newly met Steve Butts. Were they heroes on an adventure? Were they trying to apprehend a renegade officer who contained important documents of China? Jin knew what they must do. They had to locate the Sword of Twin Destinies in the mountain of--- ---mumble mumble. Grumble mumble. Moooaaaaannnnnn. Jin was still drunk and heavy. He wouldn't be disclosing his residence anytime soon. Hopefully Steve Butts wasn't getting too tired. |

Thankfully, Steve wasn't getting tired anytime soon because all Jin could do was babble incoherently. "Shhh, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, it's okay, Jin. You're drunk." Steve was patted him on the back -- only, it wasn't Jin's back. Steve forgot that Jin was draped over his shoulder, therefor his back was much higher up on the shoulder. What Steve really patted his Jin's butt. Steve immediately realized his error and shot his hand down to his side, hoping no one noticed. The fact that almost every sign was in Chinese didn't help in finding their way through Chinatown. It was really starting to frustrate Steve. Was there nothing in English?! "Has no one been to his place?" he asked. "Or know what it looks like?" |
