Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Ao Arashi
A daily routine is often pacing back and forth along the same path. As such, Ao is often seen in a particular China shop, looking over the small figurines. His daughter had wanted one. A small dog made from China. It was an adorable thing. It hadn't sold in the past few months, being able to tell because him and his daughter put a black dot on the bottom. He rotates the small thing in his hands, looking it over with his tired eyes. Bags hung underneath them, showing he didn't sleep often. Setting it down he walked around, hands in his pockets, looking at the various other merchandise.

A sigh escapes Ao's chapped lips. His clothes were unkempt, creased and looking worn several times. He was a mess. So much, that one could probably identify him as a homeless person just from how haggard he looked. A small, but messy beard crossed his face, grown short, but obvious in the fact he hadn't shaven in a month or two. He shuffled aimlessly about the shop for just a little bit longer. He was going to leave soon to head to the next place that gave him good memories of his poor little girl. Shoulders slumped as he returned to gaze longingly at the small dog made of fine china.

Ao wasn't so benevolent. He walks over to the first one and lifts his arm up and slams the blade into the man, bringing him back to his senses before gasping out a bloody farewell, choking on blood. He pulls the blade out of him and turns to where she had moved. She knocked out the one missing his arm. It wouldn't be long, but if he was helped now.. No. He begins to walk forward, that hate still in his eyes. He was a wreck, yet something about him seemed strong and violent now. He looked like a beaten dog earlier and now he was like a raging tiger. Such a difference in presence was enough to throw most people off. He retracts most of his crystals, leaving a long single one to end the man's life. He'd have to walk past Alice to get to him.

Alice may have qualms killing someone herself, but the rage and need in his eyes gave her no reason to stay his hand. He needed this kill, she wouldn't get in the way of it. That was just asking for death. She stepped out of his way, letting him finish him off. Meanwhile, she grabbed out her phone, and rung up Jin. If this was how this guy reacted to Yakuza, he could be a valuable asset. In either case, he protected her and deserved protection from the retribution the older gang would bring upon him.

The line picked up, and Alice didn't bother with greetings. <Jin, we have a situation. We'll need a body clean up crew, and one man here will likely need our protection. I think he could help us. I was attacked by Yakuza. In our territory.> She left it at that, and waited for any obvious questions. She eyed the man, unsure what he would do once his enemy was dead.

“Ayaaaaa!” the shop door swung open, and the shopkeeper came out.

Come to Japan, she said.
It was safer, she said.
No longer have to deal with Chinese thug, she said.

“What you doing?!” He demanded to know. Not believable. How could they fight like this? This no butcher shop! This no fight club! This figurine shop! Very Fragile! They threaten stock, they threaten business. These Japanese were disrespectful!

“You no kill in front of shop! Bad for business! You see tiny figurin….?” The old man trailed as he showed the cheerleader the cute neko figurine. “Very fragile! You try to ruin me? Clean up mess! This no butcher shop!” He then turned to the windows stained with blood.

“Ayaaaa! I just clean window! Nobody come to bloody shop! I no pay!” He said crossing his arms.

Clenching his teeth, a smirk crosses his lips at the noise of the shopkeeper. "Oh? Allow me to fix that window for you." He grabs the front of the Yakuza thug and lifts him up off his feet. He drags him over to the window, a dark look on his face. With a crash, the Yakuza thug's face went through the glass, shattering it. At least the blood was gone. He moves and drops the thug onto the edge, letting the glass cut into him. If he survived, it'd be an impressive feat. He moves away, his hand turning back to normal and he dusts his hands off against each other.

Go with Triad, she said
They efficient, she said
They worth price, she said.

Lies!

What was this stinky man allowed to throw man through his shop window?! Fragile figurines on the other side; very expensive! Why was girl talking on phone?! Not professional! Chang is displeased.

« You! Cheerleader! What you doing? Stop him! He destroying my shop!” Chang said as he yelled at
Alice for failing to prevent Ao from throwing a man through his shop window.

“I pay to avoid this! I no pay! Replace window, clean up mess, buy broken figurine and then I consider paying!” the stubborn old man said as he crossed his arms.

Alice nearly dropped her phone, jaw open in shock. "A...a....ah...Jin, hurry over here. Please!" She shut the phone without delay, dropping it in her bag. She walked up to Ao and grabbed his arm, pulling him back from the scene. Her grip was vice tight, and she shoved him against the wall. "You, stay here, don't do anything. Be still for a moment." Her red eyes were sharp on him for a minute, before she turned to the angrily shouting shop keeper.

"I apologize for the inconvenience but I recommend you shut the fuck up, and clean your window. You know the drill. We'll fix it. Don't cause trouble, and we will clean up this spat." She was relentless in her glowing red gaze. A huge part of her wanted to yell at this man for calling her down here for no reason, essentially creating this havoc.

Ao breathes out a bit as he feels his back hit the wall. He was thinking on his actions, pleased with himself. He didn't care what the shopkeeper or anyone else said, he loved seeing the look of terror on Yakuza. He retracts his crystals, leaving him unguarded. He folds his arms across his chest and turns to look at Alice as she takes control of the situation. "Tch.." He shrugs a bit and closes his eyes, leaning his head back a bit, touching the wall.

Chang`s eye twitched. His eye wasn`t meant to twitch, only when he was truly pissed did his eye show such action.

“Clean up Window?! What Window?! Idiot cheerleader! Stinky man break window! Can no CLEEEAN Window!” He yelled as he pointed at the broken window and the severely cut and bleeding man inside was groaning and twitching in pain.

“Ay-Ya! You people meant to protect from stinky man! You people meant to protect store! I gave money for protection! Didn`t get protection, you no get money!” Chang said furiously. He tried to contain his anger.

“Triad are efficient, she said.
They will live in prosperity, she said.
NOTHING WILL HAPPEN, she said”

Lies!

All of it! Lies, and more lies! This was no different than China! This was it! He was going to move out.

“You fix, like he fixed window?! No! Go, leave! And take useless bodies with oyu! No more! Chang is out! No more fake protection, no more money from me!” He said in a huff.

The calm footsteps of fine dress shoes brushing against the concrete of the sidewalk ticked and tacked into the scene of all the commotion. Smooth black round-toe shoes glowed beneath the street lights. The smooth fabric of black pleated slacks fell on top of the shoes. Fine clothes from a supposedly refined man--not this man. JIN TSUI.

"Uncle Chang!" A friendly tone tugged closely to Jin's words, endearing and respectful. Chang was not Jin's uncle, obviously--nobody would think this bitter old man to have reproduced (everyone knew he had a wife, yes, but from the rants the old man gave out, she was nothing less than a demoness from the darkest reaches of the pits of Hell. A child from her would've resulted in the death of several sacrificial lambs). The chairman of the Tai Yeung walked onto the scene, with a small detachment of his tough and gruff guards. Alice was out answering this same call, so Jin's protection would go back to full capacity upon his arrival.

He wore dark sunglasses which disallowed anyone to see his eyes and some of his scars.

"Alice." Jin stopped right before the damaged storefront. "What happened?"

He turned around to see that a crowd of onlookers had already gathered--this wasn't exactly a good advertisement to the other businesses for the Tai Yeung business. Jin turned to the man beside him--Steve Butts--and gave a nod towards the crowd.

"Mr. Butts. Please disperse the crowd. We don't need any bad publicity here." His voice was more casual than commanding--making it seem more like a suggestion than an order. His eyes averted back to the storefront, where he expected a quick report from his trusty aide.

Craze
Steve accompanied Jin as his bodyguard. He probably should've listened to Jin when Jin explained the situation. But oh well, Steve was there to guard Jin; the task should be fairly simple. No explanation needed. To give off the same badassery as Jin, Steve also wore sunglasses to obscure his eyes and face.

Unfortunately, Steve felt a familiar sensation in his nostrils. Oh shit! They were clogged with boogers. To make matters worse, he didn't feel the clogging until he walked in behind Jin. There he was, stuck with a bunch of people and needing to pick his nose really bad. And Steve couldn't wait. Even the knowledge of boogers in his nose made him unconsciously want to poke inside. Hmmm... Maybe if he was quick, no one would notice, especially with Jin's presence dominating the room.

Steve got behind Jin's coat and started picking, but he was quickly interrupted by Jin, ordering him to disperse the crowd. He shot back from behind Jin, a long yellow stream of snot hanging from his nostrils. (Since he had sunglasses, the boogey was more apparent because people were not able to see his eyes.) Steve nodded to Jin and faced the crowd, pointing behind them.

"Crowd! Fuck off!" he yelled.
