| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? There was a first time for everything. Police Officer Kintaro Kugayama, currently off duty, had come into the library in his regular clothing because today he was not on any official police business. This would be his first time at the library since he moved into Niwa not too long ago, and his first time around the City Hall area in general since his move here. It only took a brief look around the outside of the library to really take in what was so different between his old home and his new one: the attitude. Here in Niwa, it may have been dangerous, but what it lacked was the air of pompousness that came from those who have been endowed with special abilities like himself. This wasn't a city that hindered strictly on super powered people for survival, something that his old home town could take a lesson or two from. Passing through the doors of the library, Kintaro admired the layout of the library of the main lobby as he continued to walk in, not really sure of where he would go from there. |

"...I'm not too familiar with where to get good chocolate around here, but I'd be more than happy to come with you." This was definitely a strange turn of events. Kintaro watched as the young woman started to tear up, obviously emotional over the whole ordeal of his remark, but it just as soon turned from sadness into a craving for something chocolate-y. The suggestion wasn't a bad one, however, since the young woman's remarks about chocolate was starting to give him a little bit of a craving as well. But what was left unanswered, however, was Fanny's previous question about who he was and what he was doing in a library. "Oh, and to answer your previous question, I am no a book worm. This is the first time I've been in a library in about...four years, actually. I never had a lot of time to get into the library because of work." |

The urge for chocolate was almost taking over her. Where did this come from? It's like her body, in all the panic and emotion, automatically decided a bar of chocolate or -- Oh my god, a fucking chocolate sundae. With whipped cream on top and a cherry. Hot chocolate sauce dripping off the edges. And a brownie the size of her head underneath it all. She could practically taste it. "Please tell me you work in a chocolate factory and you're going to take me there now," she asked. Immediately, she tried to overcome her immediate hunger, acting like she's shrugging it off. But her efforts are futile. "Sorry, I'm not normally like this," she apologized. This true statement was very true. And every time she tried to act normally, her body and the situations never allow her to escape. She wanted this meeting to peacefully end but, in the back her mind, she subconsciously wanted ice cream and felt like this man could probably fulfill that need, maybe even pay for it too. She needed to get the hell out of there before she made herself even more uncomfortable. Or worse, started doing things that she'd later regret. Quickly, trying to act against all these confusing feelings, she turns around starts running away through the aisles of books. Unfortunately, a trail of water from her dripping clothes is left behind her steps. |

Kintaro was by all means considered a very patient man, but there was something really bizarre and off-putting about Fanny's extremely strange behavior that had him both anxious to hear what she had to say and nervous about what could possibly happen to this girl next. And just as she apologized for her strange behavior, she turned around and bolted off into the aisles of books like a soaking wet bat out of hell. Kintaro followed the young woman almost immediately, basically ignoring the water he'd been stepping over as he tried to catch up with her. "Hey!" Kintaro said in a slightly annoyed whisper, chasing after the young woman into the aisles. "Hold up a second! What's going on?" |

After running in a clear circle, Fanny approached the corner she first took and, when her foot landed on the puddles she left amidst her escape, she slipped and slid up against a bookshelf, knocking a few hardbacks down on top of her. She let out a yelp! when they bounced off her head. She grabbed her scalp, shielding it from any more falling books. The pain was horrible! Tears welled up in her eyes: her luck was never any good. The more she tried to escape situations, the more situations clung to her. Now, an action she never performed -- at least not publicly -- she could no longer stop, her eyes unable to cease the flow of tears down her face. She felt pathetic. By now, Kintaro probably made his way over to her. "H-h-have you ev-ever..." she stammered, "... felt like e-everything is-is-is beyon-ond your c-c-control?" |
