| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? [JIN TSUI] (link) [Time: 16:27] [Location: Gazebo in Yuki Corp. Park] [Temperature: 65*F] [Weather: Thunderstorms] "Well damn." Jin spat out, running beneath the gazebo's modest wood roof. The man with scars over his face was drenched in rain--his large khaki trench coat was now a darker shade of the color due to the rain. Jin wasn't the type of guy to check the weather before going out, and he paid for it today. His hands ruffled his hair, splashing away as much water as he could from his jet black hair. Luckily, though, Jin had found the safety of the gazebo shortly, so his black slacks and black suit had yet to be soaked thoroughly. Jin was wondering why the park was empty, and this explained it. Who would've thought that the normal denizens of Niwa were more prepared than the chairman of the Tai Yeung. The thought caused Jin to chuckle at his lapse of judgement. There was nothing else for him to do now. He sat himself down on the edge of the gazebo, then he pulled out a cigarette. Jin lit up, then pulled a drag. The soothing feeling of nicotine rushing through his body was enough to let the man crack a smile. For a city like Niwa, even the sight of Yuki Corp. Park wasn't enough to provide a natural break in the urban life. This place was always so packed with people. However, perhaps just for today, the low clouds and heavy rain were potent enough to mask the sound of cars strolling through and of the towering skyscrapers in the distance. For once, Jin felt like he was alone in this city. But that moment did not last for long. |

Today had been fairly decent in Akane's book. She had slept in late (she had just woken three hours ago, in fact), everything for the week was already handled, and it was her day off to boot. Even the dreary weather that had been going on today was welcome, as Akane's mood was always better suited for "gray" weather. Having just eaten at one of her favorite restaurants, she was now headed home through the Yuki Corp Park, a usual shortcut. On any other day, what she wore wouldn't have truly mattered, being surrounded by too much color and the stink of a mass of people. It was nice that today was so different, especially since this was one of her nicer looking dresses. It fell to her knees and was a beautiful powder blue. It was tied about her waist with a wide white ribbon, put into a fancy bow in the back. Over that she wore a simple, darker blue, mini jacket made of heavy cotton. Elegant, bleach white, Roman-style sandals adorned her tiny feet with the straps tied about her calves and simply knotted a few inches before reaching her knees. As for her long silver locks, she just let it flow naturally today. When she reached the Park, it had begun to rain. Luckily, she had armed herself with an umbrella before leaving in case it started to rain before she got home (where she planned to sleep some more). With it now up and covering her from the vast majority of the water falling from the sky, she had walked into the park. Sadly, she wasn't motivated to go very far when the rain made her feet get cold. Looking down and stopping for a brief moment, she sighed. Why is it something always tries to ruin my day off. I don't want cold feet.....God, that sounds like it should come from a damned bride... Shaking her head, she glanced about and found that the gazebo wasn't all that far away. She couldn't see all of it, but it would make fine shelter until her toes regained some feeling, so she immediately headed for it. A few minutes later, it was almost a rude awakening to find someone else there - and a man to boot. It was awkward for a moment, as she stopped in her tracks and just stared at him. A few suspicions immediately popped into mind. He could be a rival assassin and had been tracking her for a while. It was possible. More than possible, but less than likely. Akane was always careful. Not as careful as I could be though, she thought. With that major suspicion out-ruling all the others, the only other possibility was pure coincidence. It did happen. Not often, and certainly not often to her, but it was possible....and fairly likely. Sighing again, she closing her eyes for a moment, she walked up to the gazebo and stepped under the protective canopy. She had hoped to be alone. Obviously, fate (the only thing she believed in) had other plans. After a few moments of silence with the strange man, she looked back at him, studying his appearance more than just rudely staring. The thing that interested her the most was his eyes. It was rare to see gold eyes, and while the rest of him was rugged and scarred, his eyes made him quite a site to behold in Akane's eyes. Turning her attention from the man to the sky, Akane said absently, "I wish it would lighten soon...." |

Jin's eyes of pure gold shifted upon hearing the voice of another--a young female. His head soon followed his eyes to get a better view of the girl. An elegant blue dress was what caught Jin's eyes. Simple and clean, never once giving off the vibe that this girl was one of the others who were deemed fussy. She seemed calm, free, and beautiful. Most of all, she was the one to break the silence. Jin smirked at himself when he turned to her. For a man with as many scars on his face as Jin, this kind of attention was not very common. "Can't say I agree with you, little Miss." Jin replied, lacing his statement with a sarcastic and playful tone. "This city needs some more rain." He reached into his coat pocket and retrieved a pack of cigarettes. Like clockwork, Jin tapped the carton--a strange habit of his--and pulled out a cigarette. He extended his hand to the girl, offering her a cigarette. He didn't think she'd be the type. However, if there's anything that Jin had learned about Niwa, it was that nobody was ever what they seemed to be. "The name's Chen. Billy Chen." |
