|They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. |
Can you survive it?

Okay, so since my idea to make a more visual device of the story I keep starting, stopping, and restarting/rewriting (it's my obsession at times) using RPG maker 2 is bust, I'm restarting the story (again) and would like some opinions. This first post all I'm going to ask is about my current description of "Pierce" Black, and you'll see why he's nicknamed that way. Posting it now.
Note: Raiju is the name of a nearby town, he lives in a country called Satyr with his wife and two adopted daughters in a world of demons called Moondane. Demons (not actually demons, you don't need to know what they really are right now) can live for up to 200 years and stop aging in their late teens, early twenties. That should be all the info needed so far to understand the below description, I think.
Pierce Black was not at tall man; he stood at five foot three and looked like a scrawny teenager, but in truth he had a lot of muscle and could move very quickly. There were rumors he had once been a professional thief; he ignored these accusations and chose to live his life in privacy. For the past forty-nine years, almost fifty now, he had been running a store in Raiju for the hobbyists of the city; in the back, he admittedly ran an (almost) illegal ‘magical’ artifact shop. More specifically, weapons, armor, and various devices infused with other things in order to allow them the same properties and powers some demons had, among a variety of other odds and ends. It wasn’t a very common trade, with shops like his intentionally difficult to find, but some of the objects he had were worth fortunes, and he knew his business well.
Pierce himself looked a bit like a criminal, many said; others said he stood out too much to be involved in such black market dealings. However, one thing was true: Pierce knew the good places for a party, and last night, on Miranda’s twenty-fifth birthday, he had definitely showed off his connections.
Pierce, a man with Caucasian skin, looking in appearance perhaps twenty years of age, with pure black eyes that were always half closed and cropped, close-cut spiky white hair, had the general appearance of one who is usually high. This was bolstered by his facial “artwork”; he had long since shaved off his eyebrows and replaced them with four thick metal studs to each eye, a nose piercing on either side of his nose, three small hoop earrings, four studs, and a dangling silver skull in his right ear; the same in his left save the skull was a pentacle; a chin lined with seven hoop earrings in a v-formation starting in the direct middle of his chin, a tongue stud, and three lip piercings. All of these, however, paled in comparison to his arms.
Pierce was notably interested in the twelve signs of the animal zodiac, as he had twelve of them embossed upon twelve separate amulets, each the size of his palm and each with its zodiac sign placed in a background circle of a different precious gemstone, such as sapphire, emerald, or ruby. These amulets hung from rings embedded through his bone and out underneath the skin, so it appeared as if the rings hung from little metal rings poking through his flesh. He had three per each of his upper and lower arms, though he could take the amulets off his arms. Many had asked him if getting any of these piercings had been painful. None had received a straight answer. As Pierce only seemed to wear black pants and an zipped blue hooded sweater with the sleeves cut off, every one of these twelve zodiac sign amulets were visible whenever he went out in public.
