Name: Ria Honjo リーア ホンジョ Gang Affiliation: NCPD Age: 27 Birth Date: April 3 Occupation: Patrol Officer Residence: The Waterfront Physique: Long, dark black pulled up into a neat ponytail with dark eyes contrasting against a light complexion. Spoiler: click to toggle Smoke and Mirrors: Ria tries her best to remain calm and composed despite the nature of her "gifts," which more oft than not leave her high strung and emotionally raw. She does her best to mask her pain and carry on, chin up. She is usually composed and perhaps a little too reserved, fearing she'd come off as bizarre if she spoke what was actually on her mind. When her friends are threatened, she tends to get real angry, real quick. She loses sight of herself and can be rather reckless. A Gift and a Curse: Daoine Sidhe- The blood rider. Ria is the only one of her bloodline alive, carrying the burden of her family's history solely on her shoulders. When she taste the blood of the dead, the blood tells her the story of the corpse, how he/she died, who the killer was if the victim saw him/her... Ria experiences the feelings of the person whose blood she tastes, up to and including their death. She sees what they saw, feels what they felt, all of the senses, sparing no small detail. The memories of the dead are easier for her to ride if the blood is freshly spilt. Hemomancy- {Blood lust} Ria is able to manipulate blood outside of the body to use offensively. While she still has yet to perfect this power, she is able to turn blood into a weapon (most commonly tiny needle-like structures) but this is vastly restricted to the amount of blood available to her. She is not able to heal anyone with this ability. Beauty in the Breakdown : When Ria was born, her parents feared for her life. She was the child of not one Daoine Sidhe, but two. Their kind was near extinct, at least the pure blooded ones. There were mixed blooded Daoine Sidhe offspring who could scarcely conjure anything from the blood of the dead. Ria's father was a master blood rider, capable of conjuring up the memories from blood that had long since spilt. Her mother, although pure blooded too, refused to tap into the gift of her blood. She hadn't the stomach for it. Ria's parents fought over whether to tell Ria of her gift or not. Their kind was not warmly welcomed to the public, especially among criminals of the murdering kind. Ria's father worked for the police, enlisting his gift to lock up serial killers to keep them off the streets and far away from ever harming his small family. His work was not pretty though. Even the police force he worked for feared him, hated him, even admired him. But for some, a crazed sort of jealousy took hold, as well. Ria's father was the key component in solving some of the biggest serial murder cases the Tokyo police force had ever had. Some years later, word of Ria's father's "gift" had leaked out though, and a serial murderer had purposely faked the scene where some hapless girl had been killed. The wrong man was convicted because the blood had misled him. Thinking to be safe, Ria's family had quieted down, assured (at least for a short while) that the serial killer was locked away, behind bars. The real serial killer, though, had found out where Ria and her family had lived. She was thirteen and had hidden away in her father's secret room while her parents were slaughtered just yards from where she hid. Not all of the people Ria's father worked with resented him. There were those that greatly admired him and the pain and grief he endured in the police's service. Reliving each kill couldn't have been easy for him, but he never complained, and never quit. Lieutenant Ryusuke Honjo, Ria's father's best friend, took Ria in and treated her with kindness. For her safety, she changed her last name, adopting his, and soon wished to pursue a career in the police force as her father had. He was apprehensive about it, of course, fearing she'd end up the way her father had... but when he had found her unconscious on the floor with a cup of blood spilled over at her side, he knew there was no stopping her. She'd stolen the blood and had tried to ride it to find whatever clues she could about the victim's death. She was inexperienced and the over exertion and stress her body had endured caused her to pass out. He had to relent. He was no daoine sidhe himself but he'd been around Ria's father enough to help her work out the kinks to her gift. When she was more experienced and had received the proper training, Ryusuke pulled some strings and Ria did the rest. She became a valuable asset to the Tokyo Police Department's murder unit. The past would come back to haunt her, however. Much like her father's troubles, Ria's gift was leaked to the wrong sort of people. Murders were being fabricated. Bodies and the pools of blood around them didn't match up. The murderer had killed two people, after torturing them in the most brutal ways Ria had ever felt. The blood she thought was from a gunshot wound or a stabbing was actually from a victim that had had her eyes gouged out before bit by bit, she was chopped up. The Switch Killer was what the media called him after the whole thing was leaked to the media. Although Ria's face was not revealed to the public, her safety was jeopardized. Ryusuke refused to allow her to live in Tokyo where she could possibly fall into the hands of the killer so desperately trying to send her a message. Items/Equipment: In a hidden panel behind Ria's bookshelf, there is a refrigerated storage room where Ria has vials of blood.
