Calistra stood in the weyrbowl looking at the grey sky. It was cold. Bitterly cold and the Weyrwoman was wrapped in thick furs. She held the furs around her, her eyes searching the sky above her. "Theres snow coming in" she said to those standing around her. There ahd been a strange vision from the flitters, another Weyr in trouble, but it wasnt a Weyr any recognised.
"So, any ideas who they are?" She asked, looking from one to another, her eyes taking in all as equals. "We need to find out, they were in trouble" she told them. But the weather was too risky, they couldnt send a dragon up yet.
"What can we do?" she asked, fear creeping into her voice.

"Maybe we should send a small group of riders to seek them out? Find out what is going on with them?" Savvi asked. She stood closest to the Weyrwoman. She would definitely like to help, especially if they needed help with food or the like. She looked around her at the other people gathered around. She didn't like the cold, or snow all that much and didn't like the idea of more on the way. But that was the way of the world they lived in.

I'wyn stood bundled in his warmest coat, scarf, and gloves. Lyre perched on his shoulder, the little bronze's eyes whirling red with distress. He kept sending vague images of a storm and a place that looked like a Weyr. It was making I'wyn anxious, and he was glad that others had seen the images too.
He nodded at the kitchen worker's suggestion. That seemed like the logical thing. It wasn't like they could just ignore the distress calls. "Maybe if the flitts work together, they can create an image that's clear enough for the dragons to go between with."

Freyja stood by the others watching the discussion. She knew how upset Livia was, and hoped that she would calm down soon. The little gold was getting more and more anxious as time went on. "Its a good idea. Livia is sending me small pictures, water, caverns, people who look scared. And then lots of scared feelings. She is so upset that I'm surprised she hasn't gone off on her own. We could also try to send a flit with a message. Maybe see if one of them can come here to lead us back to help."
Livia was flying around Freyja's head, squawking in distress. Freyja knew if she didn't calm her down soon, well it wouldn't be pretty. She was glad the others were having the same images.
C'ton's flip was much calmer than the other flits, but was still distressed. C'ton could tell that they needed to do something to help this other weyr. He hoped that they could agree on one plan, and quickly. He had a feeling that this was only going to get worse.

T'lon laid an arm around Cali's shoulders and gave her a reassuring squeeze. He was dressed in a thick riding jacket and heavy pants. It was getting sharding cold, almost as cold as between it felt. He looked around at the Riders and others who were gathered around. It was time to step up and start making some official decisions. He was the Weyrleader officially and it was time to go to work in that capacity. He was no longer a stand in, these people were his responsibility now.
"The weather's getting worse. For that reason I'm hesitant to ask some of you to help in the matter. I won't ask for volunteers, I know all of you too well. Every last one of you would offer to go. For right now I want only Browns and bronzes in the sky. We need endurance in this kind of weather."
He paused and looked around. he knew Cali wasn't going to like the next part of what he had to say. Considering the weather though he wouldn't risk any more Riders than he absolutely had to.
"I want all of you to work with Calistra. try and make some sense of these images. Charanuth and I will go out and try to locate this Weyr. Calistra and Xiliath can give us directions from here. I won't risk any of you right now. I probably shouldn't even be risking myself right now, but we don't know when this weather is going to break. We don't know how bad the situation in this Weyr really is, so I don't think we can wait. Make things happen everyone."

Looking at Savvi Cali smiled at the girl. "Savvi, can you work with CIena and see what weyrs and rooms we have for any who need a place to stay. If what we are being shown is true these folks will need our help. See what provisions we have, find blankets, get the Weyr as warm as you can." She told her, nodding at her to run and find the Headwoman, "ask Ciena to come find me when she has seen what we have." She told her.
Then Cali looked at the young green rider, I'wyn, "Greenrider I'wyn, see if you can get your Bronze flitter to give us more details of this Weyr. Would he be able to get there?" She asked him, reaching to stroke the headknobs on the little bronze, maybe she should think about getting a flitter, they seemed like worthy pets.
"Freyja, see if your little Queen will work with I'wyn's Lyre, if we can get a location of this mystery Weyr we can offer them some help." She told the Weyrling, thankful that everyone was wanting to help in this time of need.
T'lon's presence was always a welcome releif to her. He had strength that she relied on. "I wont argue with you T'lon, I will remain here, but please, take another bronze rider with you. Maybe G'rick and Tiroath." She suggested, "he would be willing. I'll have things ready here to aid you when you let us know whats happening."

Savvie beamed at Calistra with the brightness of the sun. "Consider it done, Weyrwoman," and then she was off to find the Headwoman. She had a good idea at where she thought Ciena might be. She headed for the Lower Caverns and then to the Kitchens. "Headwoman?" She called as she headed for the Kitchens next, since she didn't see the woman in the Lower Caverns. ~~~ Aravire stood shaking in her boots. She hated the cold! Why did anyone stand out in the cold, especially when it was soon announced that snow was coming and it would be getting colder? She would rather be in the Barracks with her beloved Raeth, to be warm.
If you don't want to be out there, then come back here!
I will in a few minutes, love. I want to find out what is going on. And to help in any way I can.
Then it's true? There is another Weyr? In trouble?
Yes, according to the firelizards. Hopefully, there won't be any injured that will be arriving, should we rescue them. Aravire was dubious about that thought. ~~~ Mine! More snow is coming?
Apparently so, love. Danei replied. She didn't like the snow, or any kind of cold weather. Though she'd make it through. She had her beloved Dsirth, after all.
Your shaking, DaneiMine! Come back and I'll help get you warm.
Danei chuckled at her lifemate's enthusiasm. No, love. I'm going to stay and help. You stay in the Barracks. I don't want anything to happen to you. Danei turned back to the Weyrwoman. "I can help, if you need an extra pair of hands," she offered.

Freyja nodded to the weyrwoman, "Of course Weyrwoman." She then turned to I'wyn and looked at him and his bronze.
"We should see if we can get a good enough image from the pair of them to send someone or something there." Livia chirped in response sending the images faster now showing quickly falling rain.
The gold flit took off from her pet's shoulder and squawked at the bronze sitting on I'wyn's.
Freyja hoped their plans worked and they achieved their goals. She could tell this weyr needed help, and that their time was running out.

I'wyn nodded, his face pale with worry. "I'll try, Weyrwoman." Lyre chirped as the Weyrwoman scratched his head knobs, then creeled at Livia. The attention from the gold calmed him down a little, but he was still sending images to I'wyn. The Greenrider closed his eyes and concentrated on the things the little bronze was trying to tell him.
He saw mountains...typical enough for a Weyr. He shook his head, hoping for something more specific. Then there was a flash of something..."Go back to that, Lyre," he murmured urgently.
Opening his eyes again, he focused on the Weyrwoman. "It looks like there's a river through the center of the Weyrbowl. Freyja, is Livia seeing the same thing?"

Freyja focused on the images her gold was sending, the flashes were more numerous now and fragmented. But as she focused she was able to put together a picture of something.
"It looks like it. She is sending me images so quickly its hard to get one thing but it does appear to have a river down its center. And there are weyrs ringing the bowl. And the rain is extremely heavy there now. Heavier than anything I've seen."
Livia fluttered around agitated from the fear she was feeling. She was beginning to make Freyja agitated as well.

G'rick had heard of the upcoming snow, but he and Tiroath were warm in their quarters, oblivious to the strange behavior of the flitts. Slowly, Tiroath roused. G'rick, Mine? The other dragons are worried and the Weyrleader and Weyrwoman are outside. Why would they be outside in that cold? G'rick woke quickly and stood. He ran out to the ledge and saw the crowd standing outside. Shards, but I miss everything! I should never sleep! No, you shouldnt sleep so much! You sleep nearly as much as I do! And why should I be awake when your not? But G'rick was already dressing. As soon as he stuffed his feet into his boots, he was out of the room, pulling on a long fur lined coat and round cap that covered his ears. On his way through the kitchen he met Ciena and Savvi, but didnt take time to stop. The Bronzerider made it outside in just enough time to hear the Weyrleader volunteer to go out in this wretched cold! And with snow coming! Then the air of fear and distress begame evident. G'rick stepped forward after the Weyrwoman suggested him and spoke. "Weyrleader, I am not sure what is going on, but I agree with Calistra. You should not got out there alone. Why are you going out there at all?"

Neryma had been torn between her calm, sleeping dragon, and distressed frantic flitt. Eventually, the flitt won, but only because Auith woke long enough to insist Neryma go and comfort 'their' pet. So Neryma was in the Hatching Grounds curled up with a thick blanket and trying desperately to get Ryn to calm down. All she could get were images of a storm. Dark clouds and rain. And all of it was over what had to be another weyr. Neryma had only been over Lellinias once, but still she knew the flitt's vision wasnt of this weyr. But when would she have seen another weyr? The goldrider had heard of the firelizards colective memory, but wasnt sure just how much it entailed. So there she was, isolated from the rest of the weyr. Her Ryn was distressed and Neryma knew she couldnt leave or get Ryn from her clutch. From were they were in the caverns, she couldnt see outside. Not that anyone would be out in this cold! Neryma had thought many times of joining Ryn on the sands! Still, she had to see. Maybe she would catch someone walking the bowl. So Neryma wrapped the blanket tighter and braved her way to the edge of the 'Grounds. She was amazed at what she saw. Both weyrleaders and a small crowd were standing outside. Neryma looked back at Ryn. The need to turn her eggs had temporarily distracted her, and Neryma took the opportunity. She dashed out to the crowd as quickly as she could, knowing the rush of blood would temporarily warm her.
"Weyrwoman! Have all the firelizards gone mad? What are they telling us? Ryn has never seen another weyr?" It was only then that Neryma spotted Freyja and I'win dealing with their flitts. She looked back to the Weyrwoman politely waiting for her response, but anxious to ask those that actually had flitts.

Ciena had three feet deep in one of the storage closets when Ander came shrieking out of between, flashing images Ciena didnt have time to decipher. Knowing how cold it was outside, and the possibility of snow, Ciena decided to just send Ander to Neryma. The girl had offered to look after him when Ciena proved too busy. But when she looked at Ander she saw the distress was real. It took the hefty Headwoman 10 minutes to work her way out of the closet without undoing all she had done. Once out, she assigned a 'guard' in the form of a drudge ordered to keep all would be helpers out of that closet until Ciena returned. "Were is the Weyrwoman, Ander." Ciena was trying to be patient, and was rewarded with an almost clear image of Calistra, T'lon and many other standing out in the bitter cold! Quickly she began arranged as many mugs as would fit on two trays, for surely she could find someone to help her. Luckily there was a full pot of klah on. Ciena deftly filled each mug, empting the pot. She was about to search for a helper and for someone to start some more Klah when Savvi came looking for her. "Oh good. Take this tray." The Headwoman then grabbed the nearest person to restart the klah pot, took the other tray and set a brisk pace for Savvi to keep up with. Sooner than she knew it, her and Savvi were serving the klah to the people outside. When they got to Calistra, Ciena saw the worry on her old friends face. As she put the mug in her cold hand, she asked. "What is it? Is it the same thing that has my Ander all ralled up?"

"We are going out there G'rick." T'lon said. "Wherever this Weyr is, they need help. Their Weyr is flooding apparantly, so they are somehwere in the south, otherwise they'd be buried in snow."
Dart was still bombarding him with images, but was at least sitting still on his shoulder. T'lon reached up and stroked his headknobs. "Easy little guy." He said soothingly. "Dart, i need you to get the harness for me. The flying harness from the weyr and bring it here. Bring it back to me."
The blue crooned and disappeared. Lon looked up towards his weyr.
He is here Mine. We will come down.
T'lon looked around again and an idea came to him. It wasn't an idea he particularly liked though. It had been known to happen before and he certainly didnt want to risk himself and another rider of it, but it was possible.
"There is another option. We all know flits have a shared memory. they've demonstrated it in the past. Is it possible this is just one of those memories and not actually happening now?"

Cali nodded at Ciena and was about to answer her when T'lon spoke. She frowned, "We cant do nothing. It might be a past memory, but I dont think so, it just feels different. As if it is really happening. " She paused, wishing there was another way to do this, but there wasn't, T'lon and G'rick had to go and see if they could find the Weyr, it was the only way to help them.
"Ciena, we might be getting some very wet and cold people, make sure there are clean, dry clothes and blankets for them. Open one of the drudges dorms to put them in for now, any riders can use the empty weyrs, we have enough." She directed the Headwoman, "take any weyrlings to help you"
