WELCOME

Here at Lellinias Weyr the weather is turning cold. Winter is around the corner and there is a threat of snow in the air. The wind whips through the Weyr and the riders and weyrfolk are dressing up warm.

LAAIYRA & BLENDATH

Laaiyra scowled as she stood outside the Weyrling Barracks, Blendath not far away near the walls, curled up with only one eye half open. It paid to keep an eye on her bonded when in a new place, and when she was annoyed. The woman had gotten more questions about where she'd come from in the past day then she had ever wanted to hear. It didn't help that there were even more questions about her dragon. It was a touchy subject, one that had caused Laaiyra to snap on more then one occasion and send Weyrbrats and Candidates from her in floods of tears because she'd snarled ot yelled at them so much. You ought not to be so hard on people! They're just curious! Why, I met a Brown today that didn't stop asking me questions! He was quite odd, I have to tell you. Laaiyra turned, ehr eyes narrowed on her dragon. "And you told him nothing, I hope. They have no right to ask anything of us," she snapped, jaw clenching once she'd finished. They have every right, and you know it, Laaiyra. We're new, we could mean danger, especially now Thread has returned. Blendath laughed in her mind. She knew she'd made a mistake as soon as she'd said it.

Laaiyra turned, glaring at her dragon. Great, something the Weyrwoman had...forgetten to tell her. What did that mean for them exactly? She didn't know how to use a flamethrower, and Blendath woduln't chew firestone! Did she want them dead? Laaiyra that's unfair, Blendath cautioned, opening her eyes but staying relaxed. BY now, she was more then used to her rider's outbursts. Laaiyra glared. "Don't you dare take her side," she spat, hands clenching on her arms, "And if you seem to know sharding everything about this place, when did Thread come back? How long ago and is the Weyr sharding prepared for it?" Laaiyra was not one to curse often, when she did it was usually because she was incredibly tense. New places would do that to you.
