Azyimeth pranced into the Weyrling barracks like she owned the place, going right to an open bed that was going to be Hers's for the rest of their Weyrlinghood. :Finally! Bedtime! I am ditched, NisaariMine. You must get me to bed. Thank you for oiling me after you fed me so nicely. Now, let's go, please...: She let out a huge, theatrical yawn, and Nisaarii laughed. Not yet, Azy. We have to get moving to the feast.
She walked over to L'iam, Azyimeth following with exhagerated tiredness. Adonis chirped at her, and she picked up the pace a little. :But after is sleep, right?:[color] she asked. Yep! Nisaarii was feeling a little bushed herself. That was odd.

L'iam stood from his perch on the desk, and was about to address the group when a girl walked in, with her dragon not far behind. The little beauty looked almost dead with fatigue. L'iam walk to the rider and put his hand on her shoulder. "You can go settle her and come back. She looks like she needs to sleep!"
When the girl returned, without her dragon L'iam continued. "I know you all are expected a big speech, but I am as anxious to get to the feast as you! So I will keep this short and sweet. Now, First of all congratulations on Impressing! Every dragon and rider is vital to the weyr, and we are all very proud of you! Second, there will be wine and dancing and lots of fun to be had at the feast! But I warn you! Do not over indulge! Especially in the wine. Reth and I will be waking you all up nice and early to learn how to feed your dragons, and trust me the last thing you want is a hangover when your dealing with a keening, hungry dragon! Also, one more point I must stress. There is to be absoluetly no sex until your dragons are mature! I am sure most of you will not have a problem with that, but some might. So I will tell you why. Such activity can mentally harm your dragons! I know none of you want that! So be careful, because situations can get hot really quick! Now remember, its gather dress and dont go overboard! You will regret it! Go! Have fun!"
And with that, he dismissed them. L'iam wanted to be there before the new riders arrived, so he had Reth waiting to fly him to the caverns. Once inside, he took his place on the Dias, ready to hand out the knots.

Jandolyn lingered over Averyth, gently stroking her eye-ridges. Averyth had eaten, not so ravenously as the others, but enough to satisfy her rider's demands. The jade dragon was sleeping now, dosed heavily with fellis and numbweed, tucked away in her own corner of the weyrling's barracks.
Jandolyn stared at the stitches, black and leering, crisscrossing Averyth's wing. They were ugly tracks that would scar, leaving her beautiful dragon marred forever. The reminder of the enraged infant dragons fighting to the death would raise its ugly head every time Averyth spread her translucent wings.
A tear trickled down Jandolyn's cheek. A sob caught in her throat, and she let herself go, grateful that most of the weyrlings were long gone now. They would be joyfully celebrating their Impressions, eating and drinking and laughing together. Jandolyn tried not to let it get to her, but bitterness settled onto her like a blanket, and seeped into the cracks and crevices of her skin like a poisonous salve. A few minutes passed and Jandolyn tried to regain control of her emotions. Her Avi slept so deeply that the emotional storm didn't wake her.
Jandolyn wiped her face with the backs of her hands and stood shakily. She would be required to put in an appearance, she knew. Jandolyn sat on the edge of her cot, gazing at Averyth. A few more tears trickled down. Oh my Averyth, will you ever fly? came the whispered thought. Averyth twitched a little in her sleep and was still. Jandolyn sat, watching Averyth for a while, then made her way slowly to the feast.
Jandolyn's head was still reeling from her emotions and she did not realize she was supposed to be going to the classroom for a pre-feast meeting. Most of the Weyrlings were already there.
Jandolyn headed toward the lower caverns, thinking that all she really wanted to do was stay with Averyth. The world went wavy again as her eyes teared up. She had to get a grip. Jandolyn stopped and leaned against the wall in the shadows. She took a few deep breaths and told herself that everything was going to be fine.

Neryma had lingered in the barracks after the class left. She wanted another moment to fix her her. She hadnt been satisfied with the ringlets framing her face. When she headed out of the barricks, she saw Jandolyn leaning on the wall, looking odd. Neryma couldnt place if she was tired or sad. "Is everything alright?" Neryma asked as she put her arm around the girl. Suddenly she remember what some of the other weyrlings were talking about. A green had been injured. It must have been Jandolyn's. "She will be alright. I know it. Now come on, she would not want you to miss the feast. Besides, I'm starving! Arent you?"

A voice reached Jandolyn through the gloom. "Are you alright?" Jandolyn recognized Neryma and when the girl's arms came around her, she gave a hug back. The empathy almost did Jandolyn in. She had to choke back more tears. Neryma was blabbing on about the feast; by the time she said, "I'm starving, aren't you?" Jandolyn was able to nod and give a watery smile.
"I'm just worried about her, you know? I'm scared the wing won't heal properly and she won't fly. I'm afraid Avi being injured dragn is going to make us fall behind in Weyrling classes." Jandolyn sniffled and wiped her face again. "What's going to become of us if we fall behind?" Jandolyn pushed away from the wall and took a few tentative steps. She hoped Neryma would walk with her to the lower caverns.

Neryma sighed. She didnt know enough about healing or dragons to truely answer the girl. "Well, you just have to believe that she will be fine! And work at it. I am just sure she'll be flying like the rest of them! After all, didnt the Master Healer say should would be alright? Now cheer up!" Neryma kept her arm around the girl and started to lead her toward the caverns. Surely some wine and good food would lift her spirits!

Abella listened intently to the Weyrling Master and grinned when he mentioned wine and over indulgence. She sincerly hoped she would be able to control herself. After all, this was the first time she could truely enjoy a festivity of this magnitute! Abella vowed not to lift a single platter unless it was to get her own food! She was going to indulge! Tonight was all about her and her Atyith! After the class was dismissed, Abella quickly changed into her gown and combed her hair. She was used to having it pinned back because of her work in the kitchen. Tonight she would let it down, long and straight. She was always proud of her hair and wished she could show it off more. Well, now was a first class chance! Satisfied with her appearance, Abella slipped on her dress shoes and walked to the dinning caverns.
