Nisaarii was anxious for the Hatching to arrive. If she was too late to do much but get in the way, but too early to be there just in the nick of time, why was she here at all? She knew why, of course. It was because the alternative was to go back, or never have left at all. She did not feel like doing that. She would stay, and she would try to enjoy herself.

That, however, depends on your definiton of an “enjoyable” activity. Most people, for instance, do not like eating legumes or cleaning. Nisaarii likes doing both. In this case, however, she was simply cleaning. Upon moving in to the candidates’ lodgings, she took up an empty cot and got to work. She unrolled her bedding, and on top of this layed out her clothes, not before hanging the special robe she was given (special only in purpose, not intricacy or value) on a hook.

It was a cascade of organization. Clothing was folded and stacked by color, taken out and matched with other items, and then folded again. Nisaarii wondered how this would look to someone walking in. Some things were better left unseen.

Fallon was bored. That was never a good thing. True, she could always go off and play a prank, but she doubt that would be well received, especially considering the fact she was so new here. So the older candidate had to make do with other things at her disposal.

Originally, she had hoped to maybe help her foster-mother in the kitchens, but the woman had quickly chased her out, accusing her of getting underfoot and in the way. Disgruntled about that, the candidate had gone to the weyr stables, looking for her father. She had been informed by the other staff that he had left on an errand and wouldn't be back until later that evening. So, bored and now a tad bit annoyed, she left, trying to think of things to do to entertain herself with.

What she came up with was what she was doing now, which was practicing walking on her hands. She was using the hallway in the candidate barracks, since not many people were there. Sure, her hands were now a tad dirty, but she could always wash them later. However, she soon came to an open doorway, activity sounding within. Peeking her head around the corner, she grinned slightly. "Oh, hello there!"

Nisaarii started. That was not good, as she was carrying a stack of folded clothes at the time. They tumbled out of her hands and fell, some onto the cot and others onto the floor. The reason she did so soon became clear, when she saw a girl's grinning face outside the door.

Adonis saw her too. He scaled His and sat, on top of her head, where he coud look menacing and awesome at the same time. He chirruped at his, reassuring her that he would protect her, but then fell off of her head. She had beant over to pick up the fallen clothing.

Nisaarii wasn;t about to admit her nerves were on edge to anyone, but she recovered quickly. "Helloo! Come on in! You might as well. Adonis the Fierce has already seen you." Adonis, however, did not look so fierce clinging to his mistress's hair.

When the girl dropped the clothes she was carrying, Fallon's eyes got very wide and apologetic. "Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to startle you." she said, standing up off the floor from where she was kneeling. She couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the girl's mention of Adonis ' the fierce.' The bronze had been trying to look menacing, but Fallon was used to that look, considering her foster-mother gave it to her all the time.

What was funny, though, was when the bronze fell and simply hung on to his mistress by her hair. Yes, very scary. Thinking she might be rude, she clapped her hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter. However, she recovered quickly, seeing as how this girl seemed so friendly.

"Uh, well, yeah. Sorry about dropping in like this. I'm Fallon. What's your name?" she asked, green gaze starting to drift around the small room, noting how neat everything was. It made her grimace because it reminded her of her own room, which was...not nearly so neat. In fact, it was downright messy. She was confident that even her robe was mussed, because she thought the last place she had seen it was under her bed, wadded in a ball. Oh well, she'd dust it off later.

"Need some help?" she randomly asked out of the blue, looking back towards the girl.

Adonis creeled angrily. He dare laugh at him? Did she not know that he was a beautiful specimen, one that had there been any females around his mistress's home, would have caught them all? Nisaarii felt his claws tightening on her sclap and plucked him off of her head before he drew blood. She stroked him reassuringly and muttered, "I'm sure she has never seen one such as yourself, Adonis." He settled down a little after that.

Nisaarii then turned her attention to the other girl, satisfied that Adonis wouldn't lunge at her and attack to defend his "honor." She smiled and set him down on her pillow. He was now asleep. "You sould be careful of how you act around him," she warned. "He is vicious when it comes to his appearance. I've found that it is best to just play along."

She started picking up the dropped clothes again, now that her hands were free. "And your apology is accepted. What were you doing around here anyways? You are a candidate, though, right?" She ask. She was now re-folding the clothing. It wouldn't take that long, she hoped.

Watching the situation with interest, she shrugged. "I wasn't trying to make fun of him, honest. But he looked so cute and funny hanging from your hair like that. I'm sorry, I'm a naturally giddy person and tend to laugh a lot." she admitted with a small, amused sigh. Most people who met her realized she tended to be cheerful and prone to laughter. "Next time I'll be more careful, I promise." she said, watching the girl fold her clothing.

No name had been offered, but she assumed she'd find it out sooner or later. At her question, Fallon nodded. "Yes, I am a candidate, but I'm new to the weyr. I originally came from Telgar Weyr. And as for what I was doing, well...not much of anything. I was just practicing walking on my hands for lack of anything better to do." she explained, airily motioning with her hands.

"I would go running, I like running, but I've found no one to run with. I don't like exercising alone, really, but I'll do it. Just...not in the mood now." she added quickly.

Adonis's head, curled to the base of his tail before, now shot straight up intothe air. Did he hear her make up for her laughter. Or even justify her laughter. He thought so, as she had said she laughed because she thought he was cute. True, "cute" wasn't as impressive as "awe-inspiring or "perfect," but it would do. He cirped approvingly and nestled back into his tight, sleepy nap ball.

Nisaarii was glad. At least she wouldn't make a load of enemies at the Weyr just because they looked at Adonis funny. She hoped that her dragon was a little more friendly, as she intended to be.

The girl had more experiance with weyrs and hatchings and dragons than she did, then. That was unfortunate. With the mention of walking on hands, though, Nisaarii's face brightened. Her demeanor did, too. "I love walking on my hands! I can't usually find a good, clear area to do it though... at the Hold they didn't have many placed for a girl to practice." She flipped, putting both hands firmly on the ground, and hefted herself up...

...only to fall back down. "I am a little out of practice," she explained. "But I can never not find a place to run." She realized that the girl did not know her name, and it was probably the same the other way around. She scrambled to her feet. "I'm Nisaarii. What's your name?"

It was obvious that Fallon was very delighted by her little find. "You do it too?!" she exclaimed happily. "I've never found anyone who'd do it with me. Everyone always gives me these funny looks, but I always ignore them normally." she babbled, then quickly shut up, an embarrassed blush covering her face. "Ick, sorry, I tend to talk too much." she said sheepishly.

She avidly watched the girl, grinning, only to have to choke back a laugh when she fell. "Sorry! Sorry! Are you okay?" she managed to get out, trying not to crack up. Seeing she was okay, she let out a breath, calming herself down. "Woo, okay then. Yeah, there are places to run, of course, I just like running with someone. It's awful lonely by yourself." she explained, nodding.

And finally! She was given a name. "Nissaari, I'm Fallon. I guess you didn't hear me earlier when I introduce myself. No matter, it isn't important." Idly messing with one of the small braids in her loose hair, she considered the girl. "I could help you practice, if you want. After you finish putting your things away. I can help!" she offered enthusiastically.

Fallon seemed overjoyed. It was obvious that Fallon was very delighted by her little find. "You do it too?!" she had said, the excitement in her voice tangible. She told nisaarii about the funny looks, and she totally got that. "Yeah, people looked at me funny, too, and my sister always knocked me over when I did it." She grinned wickedly. "Or at least, she did until I was ten, when I Impressed Adonis over there. And I don't mind your talking. I happen to very much enjoy the talking of people."

Nisaarii rubbed her head gingerly, searching for any bumps. "Nah, nothing major. I need to practice that more. I haven't had much time lately. Being alone tends to be lonesome, yes," she agreed. "And your laughing doesn't offend me. I would have done it myself. Just let it out before you burst a blood vessel. Trust me, I've seen it happen."

"Ah, hello Fallon. That fall must have addled me a little worse than I thought. Thank you for that offer. I think I shall take you up on it. As for the folding, thank you for the offer but please, do not touch anything." She started folding again. By this time, she was about halfway done. She started making idle conversation. "Well, are you excited for the hatching? That is he big question around here, nowadays, isn't it?" She folded the last item and tucked it away. As much as she liked Fallon, people could not clean up the possesions of another person properly, for some reason. She then stood back from her bed. "Are you ready?" she asked.
