POKéMON LEAGUE CHAMPION

I would like to know about the current progress of the POKéMON NETBATTLE SUPREMACY update spoken of by DJ Fury before, who claimed that the update would be released more than two months ago. |

The recoil problem has been fixed in 1.1.0. As for the second problem, I've been unable to replicate it. Test it in the new version and let me know if it still happens, along with logs, if possible. |

POKéMON LEAGUE CHAMPION

Thank you. Also, BAYLEEF, because the situation has changed due to the most recent update of POKéMON NETBATTLE SUPREMACY, you no longer need to fix the second problem if you do not wish to, but in case you are interested, here are two battle logs of the same battle demonstrating what I was talking about. Because these two battle logs show the same battle, one would expect that they are completely identical, yet there are clear differences between them, with these differences being the bug itself. Before reading these logs, be aware that: 1. Ultimate Champion's AERODACTYL has MAGIC GUARD as its ABILITY due to the use of Database modifications 2. This battle took place in a server known as "Ultimate Arena". 3. The "Mod" file that Ultimate Champion's team utilizes is "Mod: Ultimate Arena", which is the Mod file of the server in which he is battling. 4. TESTING's "Mod" file is "Mod: Drill Peck Arena", a Mod file in which AERODACTYL cannot have MAGIC GUARD as its ABILITY. Here is the first battle log, taken from the perspective of TESTING: Battle Log: Battle Mode: Diamond/Pearl Rule: Sleep Clause Rule: Freeze Clause Rule: Self-KO Clause Rule: Apply PP Ups Rule: Battle Timeout Rule: Unrated Rule: Evasion Clause TESTING vs Ultimate Champion. Begin! TESTING sent out Infernape (Lv.100 Infernape)! Ultimate Champion sent out Charizard (Lv.100 Charizard)! Begin Turn #1 Ultimate Champion withdrew Charizard! Ultimate Champion sent out Dragonite (Lv.100 Dragonite)! --------------------------------- Infernape used Stealth Rock! Pointed stones float in the air around Ultimate Champion's team! --------------------------------- End of turn #1 TESTING's Infernape: 293 HP Ultimate Champion's Dragonite: 100% HP Begin Turn #2 TESTING withdrew Infernape! TESTING sent out Swampert (Lv.100 Swampert)! --------------------------------- Ultimate Champion withdrew Dragonite! Ultimate Champion sent out Aerodactyl (Lv.100 Aerodactyl)! Pointed stones dug into Aerodactyl! --------------------------------- End of turn #2 TESTING's Swampert: 362 HP Ultimate Champion's Aerodactyl: 75% HP Begin Turn #3 Aerodactyl used Earthquake! (99 damage) --------------------------------- Swampert used Tackle! (8% damage) It's not very effective... --------------------------------- End of turn #3 TESTING's Swampert: 263 HP Ultimate Champion's Aerodactyl: 67% HP Begin Turn #4 Aerodactyl used Earthquake! (108 damage) --------------------------------- Swampert used Surf! (67% damage) It's super effective! Aerodactyl fainted! --------------------------------- NetBattle v1.1.0 Log saved 14/02/2010 at 2:53:53 PM And here is the second battle log, taken from the perspective of Ultimate Champion: Battle Log: Battle Mode: Diamond/Pearl Rule: Sleep Clause Rule: Freeze Clause Rule: Self-KO Clause Rule: Apply PP Ups Rule: Battle Timeout Rule: Unrated Rule: Evasion Clause TESTING vs Ultimate Champion. Begin! TESTING sent out Infernape (Lv.100 Infernape)! Ultimate Champion sent out Charizard (Lv.100 Charizard)! Begin Turn #1 Ultimate Champion withdrew Charizard! Ultimate Champion sent out Dragonite (Lv.100 Dragonite)! --------------------------------- Infernape used Stealth Rock! Pointed stones float in the air around Ultimate Champion's team! --------------------------------- End of turn #1 TESTING's Infernape: 100% HP Ultimate Champion's Dragonite: 323 HP Begin Turn #2 TESTING withdrew Infernape! TESTING sent out Swampert (Lv.100 Swampert)! --------------------------------- Ultimate Champion withdrew Dragonite! Ultimate Champion sent out Aerodactyl (Lv.100 Aerodactyl)! --------------------------------- End of turn #2 TESTING's Swampert: 100% HP Ultimate Champion's Aerodactyl: 302 HP Begin Turn #3 Aerodactyl used Earthquake! (27% damage) --------------------------------- Swampert used Tackle! (25 damage) It's not very effective... --------------------------------- End of turn #3 TESTING's Swampert: 73% HP Ultimate Champion's Aerodactyl: 277 HP Begin Turn #4 Aerodactyl used Earthquake! (30% damage) --------------------------------- Swampert used Surf! (258 damage) It's super effective! --------------------------------- End of turn #4 TESTING's Swampert: 43% HP Ultimate Champion's Aerodactyl: 19 HP NetBattle v1.1.0 Log saved 14/02/2010 at 2:53:55 PM In both of the above two logs, the differences between them are bolded and colored red. As you can see, AERODACTYL was damaged by STEALTH ROCK from TESTING's perspective, but not from Ultimate Champion's perspective, which is the way it should be as MAGIC GUARD prevents STEALTH ROCK damage. As a result, after AERODACTYL was sent into battle, AERODACTYL only had 75% of its health remaining from TESTING's point of view, while from Ultimate Champion's point of view, it had 100% of its health intact. As a consequence of AERODACTYL's lower HP from TESTING's perspective, a TACKLE combined with a SURF was able to knock it out from his point of view, while the same did not happen from Ultimate Champion's point of view. This is the bug I spoke of, but it does not end here. One of the most major problems this bug presents is that after AERODACTYL was supposedly knocked out from TESTING's point of view, he could select neither the "Attack!" nor the "Switch" button, and had no choice but to wait for Ultimate Champion to send out his next POKéMON. On the other hand, Ultimate Champion was able to either order his AERODACTYL to use an attack, or switch to another POKéMON. However, the battle could not proceed at that point until TESTING made a move by either attacking or switching to a different POKéMON, but since he was unable to perform either of these moves, the battle was stuck at that point, and cannot proceed until BATTLE TIMEOUT takes effect, and deems Ultimate Champion the winner as he was the one who made a move on that turn. Please note that this bug only occured under the condition that TESTING's team utilizes a Mod file according to which AERODACTYL cannot have MAGIC GUARD. Had he used the Ultimate Arena server Mod file, or even battled without any Mod files at all, this bug would not have occured. As a result, although fixing this bug would be a step closer towards making POKéMON NETBATTLE SUPREMACY a perfect program, the problems this bug currently presents is a lot more minor than before, and thus I no longer mind if it is not fixed, as with the advent of moves from POKéMON PLATINUM, HEARTGOLD and SOULSILVER, people no longer have a reason to use Database modifications anymore, so I would imagine that it would now be quite rare to encounter this problem in my server, since anyone who enters my server will most likely use either the Mods from my server, or no Mods at all. But thank you for attempting to address this problem though, and I appreciate it, as well as the fixing of the recoil problem. Because the first bug I spoke of when creating this topic has been fixed, and because the second bug is no longer a problem, I would say that all the problems in this topic have been solved, unless BAYLEEF wishes to fix the second bug as well. |
