What follows are a few simple rules for your conduct on this forum. Break them and you will be warned. Break them again and you may be banned temporarily or permanently, depending on the severity of your transgression.

Rule 1: No offensive content: While there are several "mature" topics dealt with here (drugs, sex, violence), do not go into details. In general this means that the mention of sex and violence is okay, but describing both, or either, in detail is not. No fountains of gore and blood - please - and no detailed sex scenes. If you are uncertain what constitutes "offensive content" get in touch with the admin before posting, or just err on the side of caution. Strong language is okay - if, and only if, appropriate to the situation. It's quite okay to spell out a few choice curses if your character has a good reason to use expletives, but don't have your character cussing and cursing all the time.

Rule 2: Post as much or as little as necessary. There is no minimum word count or post length enforced here, but try to give your fellow posters something to work with.

Rule 3: Write in third person - and past tense - when posting in character. The only possible exceptions are flashbacks and other threads that don't involve any other player character but your own. "Sira walked down the street and waved at her friend waiting at the bar" is okay. "I walk down the street and wave at my friend" is not okay under most circumstances.

Rule 3.5: Feel free to break Rule 3 when using your character's blog, as long as you keep blog entires in-character. (Yes, there is a blog feature here. :) Select Preferences -> Update Profile and then look in the Profile Options box.)

Rule 4: The language of this forum is English. L33t spe4k isn't English, as far as the admin is concerned. A few honest mistakes in spelling and punctuation won't ruffle any feathers, but at least try to make an effort, please.

Rule 5: Don't kill other characters without their player's consent. Unnamed NPCs (non-player characters) are - of course - an exception to this rule.

Rule 6: When in doubt ask the Admin by PM before posting. He's not that bad a person... Well, you would expect me to say that, wouldn't you. ;)

Rule 7: If you want to advertise a place you like you can add that information to your profile, but do not spread it all across the board. The OCC threads are a good place for advertisements too, but just post and leave it at that. No bumping of advertisements or multiple ads for the same place, please.

Rule 8: One account per character. You are welcome to play as many characters as you like - provided they all see some activity. There are good arguments for, and against, both account-per-player, and account-per-character, but here it's acount-per-character.

Avatars and signatures:

Avatars should be (at maximum) 100x100px. Please link to an avatar. No telling when the forum will run out of space for uploaded avatars, so I won't allow them.

Signature images/banners are welcome, but by no means neccessary. If you use one, please keep it within 600x300px or smaller. Also consider file size. Even in this day and age not everyone is on a fast broadband connection, and a little file compression can go a long way to reduce image size without a noticeable loss in image quality.
One thing you might want to add to your signature - even if you don't make any other use of it - is a link to your character profile.

In general: No hotlinking to images you don't host yourself. First of all it's rude to the owner of the image, and second there is no way of knowing how long an image will be where you linked to.
