My cousin's son was 12weeks early and was really poorly :( He was on antibiotics for 4yrs of his life but is now 6 and doing well :) My friends daughter was 10weeks early and weighed 3lbs10 and was also rather poorly but is now no different to any other 8yr old although she has a hernia in her bellybutton caused by tubes that went through it into tummy. They keep an eye on it through doctors and when/if it gets bigger and painful they will remove it. Oh and she also had problems with swollowing and with her ears which is meant to be a common thing with prem kids but she just had to blow a balloon up with her nose lol |
