This looks hilarious and getting great reviews. It centers on the fallout of Stalins death. Whats fantastic is the actors don't try to talk in Russian accents, they use American, British, etc... Steve Buscemi as Kruschev talking like Steve Buscemi.

It looks pretty awful to me. I don’t know how you pull off a comedy like this about Stalin and his murderous regime and the laziness of actors not even bothering to put on a Russian accent is a total put-off in any sort of period piece for me. It could have been a good historical drama. As a side note, it’s very likely Stalin was poisoned. I can’t remember the details off the top of my head but it’s all but certain he was murdered.

Dude, its comedy. Looks funny as hell to me. If you read some of the wacko real things that happened you would think this couldn't have happened but it did.

His dentist poisoned him right? It was rumored that he was planning another large scale holocaust type thing.

 yeah, it doesn't take a genius to figure out the fact that the actors not using ruskie accent is intentional and not out of laziness.

Beria is thought to have offed him. Here’s an article I found on the subject.

How is having everyone speak in their native accents funny? It’s distracting. It doesn’t matter that it’s a comedy.

I remember watching Operation Valkyrie, a movie starring Tom Cruise about the attempted assasination of Hitler. All of the actors spoke in their native accents. It was laughable.

Would you be happier if it was dubbed in Russian with subtitled emojis telling you when to laugh?

I'll take subs or dubs (or the wrong accent) any day.

My sixteen year old has been bugging me to see this, so we'll probably check it out tomorrow. I'll let you know how it is.
