Trunk made an interesting point that in the early days Gene and Paul would often trade off and harmonize on vocals and those were some of his favorite songs. They pretty much stopped doing that in the 80s.

You should have listened to Trunks show on the Volume channel the day after he put his list out. John 5, Tom Morello, Frank Bello, Corey Taylor, Chris Jerhico and a few others phoned in with their lists.

I firmly believe that Eddie would still blow Stanley Eisen if given the opportunity.

1) Creatures of the Night
2) Parasite
3) Deuce
4) Love Her All I Can
5) Calling Dr Love
6) Lick It Up
7) Shock Me
8) Black Diamond
9) A Million To One
10) Larger Than Life
11) Not For the Innocent
12) Detroit Rock City
13) Do You Love Me
14) I Stole Your Love
15) Thou Shall Not
16) Hotter Than Hell
17) Hide Your Heart
18) I Want You
19) Rock Bottom
20) Dance All Over Your Face

Some interesting choices. Makes me want to give a listen to some of their post classic era stuff. I provided a link to both shows in my first post. Definitely worth a listen if you'e a KISS fan.

Do any of you guys remember Wendy O Williams debut solo album? It's basically a lost KISS album. Gene, Paul, Ace and Eric Carr were all over it.

I vaguely remember Gene working with her after the Plasmatics but not the other guys. As I recall, she had a tragic end...suicide?

Genes greatest contribution outside Kiss was supporting VH to get a record deal.

Kiss comes up often enough, we should just name this thread the official Kiss thread for all things Kiss.

Solo albums. Everyone ranks Ace as the best but Pauls was pretty damn good, maybe even better, but its way over produced in comparison. Genes is bad with one decent song Radioactive. Peters was forgettable.

Ace songs:
1."Rip It Out" (Frehley, Larry Kelly, Sue Kelly)
2."Speedin' Back to My Baby" (Frehley, Jeanette Frehley)
3."Snow Blind"
4."Ozone"
5."What's on Your Mind?"
6."New York Groove" (Russ Ballard)
7."I'm In Need of Love"
8."Wiped-Out" (Frehley, Anton Fig)
9."Fractured Mirror"

Pauls songs:
1."Tonight You Belong to Me"
2."Move On"
3."Ain't Quite Right"
4."Wouldn't You Like to Know Me"
5."Take Me Away (Together as One)"
6."It's Alright"
7."Hold Me, Touch Me (Think of Me When We're Apart)"
8."Love in Chains"
9."Goodbye"

In fact, if you picked the best 5 songs off Ace and Pauls cds plus Gene's Radioactive, that would have been a hell of a good Kiss record.

I'd take it a step further and say Ace's album was so good it would easily rank among the top 3 or 5 KISS albums. Gene and Paul must have shit the first time they heard Ace's album.

Paul's album was solid and Gene's had its moments but Ace's album was unbelievably good.

I think their egos were so out of control they didn't even consider any of this at the time. Ace songs were solid, and would have been better with Gene and Paul singing. Pauls songs were better but his over production hurt it. Plus Ace co-wrote or covered songs and Paul wrote his. Again, combine Ace and Pauls records plus Radioactive and you have a hell of an album. And why did Peter suck so bad?

I can't even remember ever listening to Peter's album. I'm sure I have but I have no recollection of it. I'll have to give it a spin before critiquing it.

I know Peter was into jazz and was essentially a jazz drummer. His drumming gave early KISS a distinct flavor to their sound. He's still my favorite KISS drummer although I thought Eric Carr was amazing and Eric Singer is as solid as they come.
