Like Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC and Van Halen, both eras were great.
I hear you, but ACDC and VH really didn't change, they just changed singers. Genesis changed from a prog band to a pop band. To me, a closer comparison would be YES that went from prog inventors under Steve Howe to top of the charts pop-prog with Trevor Rabin. Even then, Genesis change was much more profound. OK, a better example of a profound style change would be Fleetwood Mac that went from a blues super group with Peter Green/Jeremy Spencer to a FM rock supergroup with Lindsey/Nicks. Mac and Genesis were completely different bands once their lead guitarists & lead singers changed

Point taken (though I'd argue that Van Halen changed substantially - AC/DC not so much).
