We lost one of the greatest character actors out there. So many memorable roles from Repo Man, Red Dawn, Escape from New York, Twin Peaks, Alien, The Missouri Breaks, Paris Texas, Rancho Deluxe, Pretty in Pink and way too many more to mention. He was 91 and a WWII veteran. He led quite the life . RIP. http://variety.com/2017/film/news/harry-dean-stanton-dead-dies-big-love-twin-peaks-1202560703/ |

I didn't recognize the name but as soon as I clicked the link, I knew who he was. He was one of those actors that you saw all the time in film. He had a long and successful life. RIP |

There was a time when character actors were higjly valued in Hollywood and some wete legends in their own right. Strother Martin, Warren Oates, Ernie Borgnine, jason Robards, Edgar Buchanon. Stanton was every bit as good. |

Talking to my brother over the weekend about HDS death and he reminded me of this classic death scene in The Missouri Breaks. Hard to beat getting killed by Marlon Brando in a dress and bonnet 😎 The movie is worth watching for Brando's over the top performance and also Jack Nicholson, Randy Quaid and of course Harry Dean Stanton. |

RIP to one of the very best. Every movie he was in was better for it. My personal favorites of his must have been the stuff he did with David Lynch and starring roles for Repo Man and Paris, Texas. However there are too many mention |
