They didn't take so much from the original Death Wish as they did the later crappy sequels. The original is a dark, gritty character study which Bronson and producers were never able to recreate as they threw in more and more action. Willis has skipped the darkness to turn it into a big action movie. Walken would have been great in the role--to bring the proper gravitas. If you want someone younger, get the guy who played Magneto; he would keep it serious. Death Wish should be a "small" movie, not an action blockbuster.
Making it into some psuedo super hero movie.

You want some Death Wish, watch fucking Man on Fire!!
Man on Fire is overrated :crap:

The Equalizer is underrated :shovel:
Sorry the Equalizer was dog :crap:

Never even watched to end.

and you are so wrong on Man on Fire, but i'll forgive you Bestie!!

i enjoyed equalizer, but it was more of a superhero-ish movie than a dark action/drama like man on fire was. man on fire is the better movie. not even close. forgive bestie's IQ from being so diminished from watching all those transformer movies. :p

Nothing in Man on Fire compares to Denzel taking out all those dudes in the club and when he went crazy in the Home Depot type store

Equalizer was great!!!!

BUT WHY

If it's nothing like the original it's going to be yet another useless remake. Love the first few Death Wish films, the third one though is completely bonkers but in a great way.

Really worried about Bruce Willis especially, who has been phoning it in on his performances for the past...20 years? Almost, Unbreakable was probably the last one I enjoyed.

Right? My son and I recently rewatched Death Wish 3. I remember it being a completely unwatchable pile of shit, but now it's an amazingly entertaining piece of exploitation cheese! I wish Arrow would give this one the blu-ray treatment. :)

Jeff Goldblum was one of the rapers in Death Wish. What a fantastic movie with some of the worst sequels ever.

Yes, it's great :p I do have it on blu ray, but it is just a standard release. Something like Arrow should definitely release the 1-3. They've done some incredible releases for this year already and there's more coming by the end.
