I may. When it comes out on dvd. I'm not going to flu infested theatres. Now, gimme the damn spoiler on what the hell Korea has to do with Wakanda. I can only assume DHK's people are trying to steal the vibranium.

Wolfie steals some vibranium and tries to sell it at DHK's black market in Pyeongchang

Realistic plot in a superhero movie? Where is the alien invasion, robots and demons?

Still not going to see it in the theater, but reviews from real people, not shills trying to make it out to be somehow historic or MCU fanboys, have been all over the map. Purely anecdotal, but I've heard from some that it was crap, some say it's meh, some say enjoyable but overhyped, and some way it's great. Not exactly well researched, but I'm going to assume it's probably somewhere between the extremes. I may go see it when it drops to second run, or I may wait until it streams. Way too tired of MCU hype to feed into it right now.

Marvel hit the lotto on this one by having the movie taken up as a social cause. They don't even have to spend money promoting it. People see it as their civic duty to see this movie. Its a one of a kind marketing lesson.

Critics are overhyping the movie. It's a good movie. It's not perfect it has flaws.

Pros

Best Antagonist in the MCU: The best villains are the one with a legitimate motivation. Black Panthers antagonist has this. He has a legitimate reason to be the way he is. His methods are what make him the villain.

Strong story: The overall story for the movie is good. The motivations for the cast make sense. You don't have to take huge leaps in logic to understand why the characters do what they do. The sibling relationship between T'Challa and Shuri is great for example.

Well acted: The acting in the movie strong. There isn't really a poor performance. Although DHK says the Korean actresses Korean was worst than Lupita Nyong'o's Korean.

Cons

Spotty CGI: The Special effects are inconsistent. It's not is bad as Justice League, but with ILM's pedigree they should have been better. It's a bit off during the first ritual combat scene. It really stuck out for me the most in third act climax.

Pacing: There is a about a half hour lull in the movie where the main antagonist isn't present. It is the weakest part of the film. To me, it is what hurts it the most.

Action Scenes: Some of the action scenes have shaky cam. It really makes the action hard to follow. Given Ryan Coogler's background, this was disappointing. His single shot boxing scene from Creed was exceptional. That didn't carry over to Black Panther. My best guess is inexperience dealing with special effects based action shots.

I'm not sure if you follow Chris Stuckmann on YouTube but to me, his review of the film is the most accurate. It is a B film. Critics will have you believe it's an A+. I think that is detriment to the film.

That's a pretty accurate assessment of this film - I'm hard pressed to disagree with most of it. I'd call it a C- (if I was in a good mood I might be persuaded to give it a legit C). I suppose at the end of the day it boils down to whether or not it's virtues outweigh its faults. For me they don't, but I can understand how they could if the viewer is wrapped up in its social relevance or if the film craft isn't as important to them as the film's themes and characters.

Cbear isn't going to know Busan though. He probably thinks Pyeongchang is the only city in South Korea because of the Olympics.
