btw, Angela basset must be hitting like mid 50's and she still looks attractive as hell.
Angela Basset makes a better Storm in her 50s than Halle Berry did in her prime.

i actually liked darckie's character. i like the way they focused on his character of being a man of integrity and honor, a good and personable king.

When they announced the X-men movie, I thought Iman would have made the perfect Storm.

7.5/8-10

my only issues is some of the cg was ehh and the final fight scene didnt have any signature big moments and it was kinda hard to tell what was happening

all the role players killed it including klau, the story was really good, the villian was top notch, the look of the film was great

best scene was when panther was coming off the ship on the waterfalls for his king ceremony/throne challenge

solid 'origin' solo movie for panther, im ready for more

I REALLY wanted this movie to kick ass, but I thought it sucked out loud. Black Panther was one of my favorite characters as a kid and I waited forever to see him brought to the big screen, but my son and I left the theater arguing whether this or Iron Man 3 was the worst Marvel movie.

Bozeman is great. In fact aside from Gurira’s overacting, the entire cast is great (particularly Letitia Wright). Great sets, great costumes....Serkis’s Klaue is fantastic and should’ve been the lead villain. But that’s about it. I’ve seen better visual effects in made for TV movies, that Fast and Furious car chase was groan inducing, and Coogler must have failed Physics, because the physics in this movie were laugh out loud funny. The plot stalls out an hour in and drags for nearly as long before a ultra predictable third act. And I’m sure I’m not qualified to have an opinion on the subject, but at times I felt like Coogler panders to and patronizes the black audience. At worst he exploits them by reinforcing negative stereotypes for a cheap laugh (Black Panther lands his space ship in the hood and the neighborhood kids want to steal the rims).

I think the film’s greatest virtue is it’s portrayal of strong, intelligent female characters and there are some truly entertaining and enjoyable moments, but ultimately Black Panther falls short of delivering the worthy stand alone feature that the character deserves.

I personally found it stupid. I also felt like it was insulting to black audiences to intercut the amazing, “traditional” African style score with hip hop and trap beats every time Killmonger was on screen just so they could sell soundtrack CDs too, but those details didn’t really affect my experience.

Boseman is on cover of Newsweek, cover story of historical impact of movie.

I suspect another culture is soon to start publically questioning where their Marvel mega movie is? Hollywood being the opportunists that they are, are probably scouring comic books to fill that niche. To you comic fans, does that character exist?
