The Last Jedi has way too strong a rating on Rotten Tomatoes for me to buy into the idea that it is as bad as some say it is.

The people who are shitting on this the hardest are the ones who are going to insist that the movie contains elements that do not fit with their personal vision of what the series ought to be.

It does feel a bit like someone asked for a chocolate cake, and when they got a chocolate cake they are pissed off because it contains some walnuts and they hate walnuts. Never mind that the majority of people seemed to either like the walnuts not care if the cake had walnuts or not.

END COMMUNICATION
The Emperor is not as forgiving as you are.

So is the whole point of all these movies just to kill the original heroes.
To pass the torch...because unfortunately people get old and pass on. RIP Carrie Fisher

The characters in this movie doesn't act logically. A few examples:

General Holdo does not tell Poe about her plan, even though there is no reason not to. Even when there is a mutiny she doesn't tell anyone, even though telling would stop the mutiny.

Finn and Asian lady goes to casino planet to find code breaker. Later on said planet, when chased, they run for their ship to escape from casino planet without code breaker, even though that would mean certain death for all of their friends and the entire rebellion.

A few other things:
The bad guys suffered a huge defeat in The Force Awakens, and when this movie starts, when Finn hasn't even healed or even woken up from his injuries yet, they are stronger than ever?!

Snoke was supposed to be powerful, evil and mysterious. But he's killed off before he has a chance to play a major part of the movie. And he didn't even know his own ship could track others through hyperspace.

Rey is awesome with a light sabre! After virtually no training whatsoever.

I'm not even a Star Wars fanboy, I just think the original three movies are pretty good. But the script in this one is just a bad one. Acting, effects, music, no complaints there, but the story is ridiculous.

Transformers the movie ruined Transformers for me. Season 3 and 4 set on Cybertron sucked! I still watch season 1 and 2 with my son.

Poe got demoted for insubordination. He wasn't a senior officer any longer. Holdo not telling him whats going is perfectly reasonable. Her only experience with him is disobedience. Poe honestly should have been in the Brig. Poe, after learning of the plan, tells Finn over the radio which is the reason the First Order finds out about the escape plan. DJ over hears it and later sells them out. Poe does more damage to the Rebels than anyone in the First Order.

Had she told him immediately he wouldn't have needed to tell Finn over the radio, since Finn would be there. The only reason she didn't tell him was to create that useless subplot with Finn and Asian lady going to the casino planet.

If hyperspacing through a huge ship and thereby destroying it is possible, why hasn't that tactic been used on any of the Death Stars?

In the military, high ranking officers don't tell the grunts everything. The Finn/Rose plot was a drag on the movie. Doesn't change the fact, that a commanding officer wouldn't relay plans to a former officer that was demoted for insubordination.

I saw it tonight, seemed Star Wars-y enough for me. My biggest let down is the complete lack of backstory or info on Snoke.

Well... I can't say it's the worst Star Wars I've seen, since I've sat through the Ewok movies, the Holiday Special, and The Clone Wars. The fuck did I just watch?

Havent seen it but fans are savaging the Asian lady in the movie and they are in turn being branded racists for not liking it.

So running count, they have killed: Obi Wan, Darth, Obi Wan's mentor, Han, Leia, Luke, Yoda.... who else?
