Bummer to hear it fell flat with so many of you..

Then again, i kinda recall Prometheus not being favored around here - i loved Prometheus!
I liked it... even with the map guy getting lost, and the biologist running away when they discovered aliens.

Been reading up on what's next.. & apparently, Alien: Awakening is what's next.

All very unofficial data but I've read that it could take place between Prometheus & Covenant, OR, resume action as David flies the colonists to that original planet they were headed for.

It has the worst cg effects I've seen since Ultraviolet. I don't know what the hell happened, because they were fine in Prometheus.

Here’s what weird to me
I didn’t like Prometheus
I have watched probably dozens of clips from the movie and like those
So was the movie badly paced? Why didn’t I like it?

The stilted dialogue? The character actions that make no sense? The shitting on the original intent of the "Space Jockey"? The dumb dream sequence which for some reason is in the 3rd person? Random crew members that disappear? Some lady running around just after invasive abdominal surgery? The alien thing popping out at the end that apparently has nothing to do with anything?

I'm sure I'm missing a few things, but I don't want to start nitpicking.

I just can't get over how hard you fellas are on these new R. Scott Alien films..

It seems like the poor & unassuming choices that the crews make are the biggest gripe but i just don't think it's justified. They are completely clueless as to what they're entering into in both films. I'll address the biggest complaints Zardoz style!

Complaint: Why does the Prometheus crew foolishly take their helmets off in the cave?
Explanation: Does it matter? The guys who get stuck in the cave overnight that stumble upon the snake thing gets to them right through their suits & helmets

Complaint: Why is Shaw able to give birth to an Alien via abdominal surgery & then run around fine right after?
Explanation: The Epi-Pens that she takes into the capsule with her. Who's to say what's in those? Why can't the meds provide enough for Shaw to numb the pain beyond anything we know of in our own real world?

Complaint: The Alien that is birthed out of that giant squid + engineer that came out of Shaw in the capsule at the end of Prometheus, what does that have to do with the Aliens we see in the original films?
Explanation: Everything! In Covenant, we learn of endless failed creations by David.. While the only one that is successful seems to be by oral entry, exactly what the squid does to the engineer which births that Alien. The existence of the Xenomorph entirely depends on David's success with the facehuggers, taken from the successful creation by Squid + Engineer

What else boys!? Keep 'em comin & I'll keep shooting 'em down!

Dude, watch it again without the pretense of how stupid you think the crew is.. you're running out of valid reasons to not like these prequels mate!

covenant was unbearable for this. some of it i let go as things that had to happen to advance the plot. some of it was so forced it was terrible

Watched it. They hit the ambiance and the gore was top shelf! It leans more torwards the horror than the sci-fi and i could see why the loyalists would get mad. That being said i must say it was still fun to watch late at night and i was by myself stoned to the gills. I’d say its a 7.9 of 10. I’m pretty hard on movies so its a solid score imo.
