Blade Runner Sequel?!?!

Did anyone else know of this? It news to me but I'm definitely interested to see how it turns out. Blade Runner is one of my favorites (best sci-fi IMO) so I hope it's done justice. On the one hand I think it will inevitably be crap compared to the first, but on the other hand I like the genre and want to give it a fair shake.

Rumor is that Ryan Gosling may be cast as the lead role and Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Rick Deckard (I'm rooting for a Rutger Hauer cameo) Don't know anything about the story, setting is 2019 distopian LA.

There are a few comments from other Refugees following that.

But I'm gonna let this thread stand on its own, Jake, because unlike that OCD monster Best80s, I don't need to go around folding one thread into another all the time.

Wait, so you go around deleting legitimate threads that you shouldn't, but when there is a double thread and you should actually combine them, you refuse to?

Further proof that you are the worst fucking mod. :crap:

You complaining again, Skeletonrock?

You and this character have so much more in common than you'd like to admit.

Ive tried and tried, but I've never made it through Blade Runner without falling asleep. Then I continue to read about how good a movie it apparently is.

You know what a good sci-fi flick is, Fifth Fucking Element.

Original "Blade Runner" is tits.

Rutger Hauer was a beast in that movie.

Can't see a sequel doing shit but anything is possible.

Wow, that sucks.

Blade Runner is my all-time favorite movie. The Director's Cut and the Final Cut are my favorite versions.

Don't watch the original version as it makes little sense and make make you fall asleep.

Give it a chance. Do you read? Have you read the book it's based on? Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K Dick is different than the movie, but really really good.

And yes, I enjoy the Fifth Element as well.

Planet of the Apes is best sci fi ever. The ending of seeing the destroyed Statue of Liberty is iconic.

I'll check again which version I have. I'm a total sci-fi nerd, so I haven't given up hope yet. Next time I watch I'll wear my Turtle beach headset for ultimate surround sound goodness.

What other sci-fi titles do you guys recommend?

Their were a handful of great eras and genres: creatures, futuristic, armageddon, nuclear, outter space.... Rod Serlings Twighlight Zone was brilliant for all types of sci fi.

You've actually named some movies I love and haven't watched in a while. 12 Monkeys, The Day The Earth Stood Still (original). And you've given me some titles I haven't seen yet and have meant too. Cheers.
