If it fell under the MMA section it could go in the "Random sh*t that doesn't deserve its own thread thread." Are you the least bit excited about it? |

It's hard to believe Chael would agree to job in a jiu-jitsu match, what with his pending 8-figure WWE deal on the table. |

Chael seems to be fairly desperate to keep his name alive here. I don't think this will be competitive or entertaining. |

Is it true that Metamoris tried to sabotage EBI by signing BJJ guys to exclusive deals? Sounds very shady! |

Interesting new business model they've got. Something like 8 bucks a month for access to all of the usual PPVS plus this new "Road to Metamoris" tournament(s?). I wonder if a better plan would be to make these smaller tournaments free, that drum up interest for the PPVs. Of course that would be a big expenditure. They are also probably hoping for a portion of people to buy the subscription for 8 bucks to catch one of the PPVs, and then just not cancel. Either way they better be ramping up their schedule to justify a monthly subscription service. |

I thought they were working on getting funds from Zuffa or at least looking to work with them like Invicta so they could be on fight pass |

Yea, not sure. I don't recall any substantial news about a deal in progress, but Dana said he was interested in possibly working out a Fight Pass deal with them. Based on those comments and how they were saying they were looking to make FP a "combat sports" destination (as opposed to just MMA), I'm guessing they did have some kind of talks and Gracies wanted more than was offered.
