Got to meet him after a get a few pics. He was super nice and chatted with me a bit.

Well, if nothing else, I guess that says a little something about his character. After a disaster like you described, a lot of performers sure as hell wouldn't stick around and be friendly with the public.

I like Mitch. I think he's really funny, but I think he's got a little bit of a Cobain thing going on. He tends to get put on a little too high if a pedestal at times because he died so young, imo. Good? Yes. Great? Debatable, but I'd probably say yes. GOAT? Not even close, imo.
Yeah, I don't think I'd ever put a one line comedian as the GOAT unless his one liners were home runs pretty much every time.. He's okay but I think there are plenty of other much better comedians but I also don't particularly like one liner comedians. I don't even think he's the best one liner comedian I've heard.

Mitch "stole" or "omage'd" his entire act from Steven Wright.

Yesterday was the 10-yr anniversary of the death the funniest person in the world, Mitch Hedberg.

Vice did a good piece with a lot of comments from comedians.

I saw Mitch the week before he died, and the dude was a complete mess. It was painfully obvious that he was in trouble. In fact at one point during the show he was so coked out and incoherent that he finally just walked off the stage for several minutes. His wife came out and told a few nervous jokes all the while looking off stage for help. Finally Al Madrigal came out to relieve her so she could attend to her husband and Madrigal's set was so much funnier than the train wreck that Hedberg left us with. I wasn't the least bit surprised a few days later when I heard the news that he had passed.

freakn love Burr. Saw him live in london a a couple of years ago and he was great. Bif fan of the MMP. Stanhope is good too but a bit too grim and intimidating for me too like.

Slow at the beginning, but well worth a watch. Not even really funny, but fascinating:
