http://speisa.com/modules/articles/index.php/item.454/sweden-to-become-a-third-world-country-by-2030-according-to-un.html Unrelated but interesting report^^^ How about that? An extremely conservative state actually doing something about the problem instead of just fundraising off of it. Wonder if California or new York will adopt this. Came down to simple math in the end, 16000 to care for them as is or 11000 with this. Hope it works Proper link http://www.nationswell.com/one-state-track-become-first-end-homelessness-2015/ Edited by 19nate79, Dec 2 2014, 12:18 PM.

What are they going to do with the folks that don't want to live there and those that want to be homeless (surely a low % but there will be some) |

Very interesting. Would love to see if this is scale-able in other more densely populated states. |

If it works it'll be great. The problem is juggernaut and his merry band of myopic superfriends will in time be bitching about putting these people in ghettos. |

meh, I think this is something people of Jugg's ilk will actually be in favor of. I'm sure there will be something that offends their sensibilities about it, but I think it's the right wing nuts who will claim this is the end of the country as we know it because no one will ever work again. It might cause some conservatives' head to explode if it's proven to save money by giving things to the poor for free. Oh the humanity! |

I'm not smart enough to know one way or the other - but it sounds like something that's going to blow up in Utah's faces |

If California's homeless all pack up and move to Utah - that'd be great. Do they intend to make it illegal to be homeless? How do they deal with drug issues in the ghettos they're creating? |

No clue. Article doesn't say. I imagine the drugs thing is really just moving that problem. Even so, they claim to be saving money per person |

It just seems a flawed article (and not exactly from a stellar source either). The whole "costs $16k to jail someone and only $11k to house them) doesn't seem to take a lot of things into consideration. |
