Sure wish Takenover was around. Got in the Jeep today to run around and battery dead as Axel Roses career. I just put a new battery in 3 weeks ago so something is wrong. Hooked up battery charger and after 5 hours 20 amp high charge its barely 4% charged. Sounds like bad battery that wont hold a charge. I hope I can get it started tomorrow to get to Goodyear. I think my alternator is ok. Pain in the ass.

Hell I dont know. My shade tree mechanic days were 30 years ago when cars had carbueretors.

After 12 hours on the charger it quit charging and error code saying battery would not desulfate. No idea what that is even after googling but sounds like bad battery. Guess Im going to have to pull it.

Every modern car has a million sensors and requires a computerized diagnostic analysis. It's about $80 up front just to find out what the problem is.

Do yourself a favor & go get a (free) alternator check at your local auto parts store. Theyll roll a little cart out to your car & let you know if thats the problem. If its on the fritz, or acting faulty, thats what is draining your battery

After the charger showed it didn't charge, I hooked it up again to try and use the jumpstart feature and it showed the battery at 85% charged and up from 8.9 volts to 12 volts. Hey! So, I used the jump start on the charger and the Jeep fired right up. I took it back to Goodyear where they groused and whined, but they put a new battery in. Then told me there was a bad cell in the old so looks like it was the battery. I have had two different people tell me its not the alternator; if it was, it would have died on the road. Eh...I have no freakin idea anymore. Crossing my fingers.
