I'm with AT&T I was paying about 90 a month for 450 minutes with rollover which accumulated big but were never used, unlimited text (which really doesnt apply because everyone I know has imessage), and 200 mb data (i mostly use wifi) Now though AT&T is offering new plans and are offering me for after taxes about $80 a month for unlimited voice and text, 1 gb of data Made sense for me to switch to something better for $10 less a month |

What?? 90 a month? Is that part of a rate payment for your phone? I pay about 20 bucks a month for 10 hours voice, free texts and 10 GB of data. |

Cell service over here is way way overpriced. I was going to go with sprint which had 400 minutes, unlimited text, and no data at the time for $50 a month. But I ended up going with straight talk which gives me unlimited talk and text and 3 GB of data for $45 a month. I've been using this service for about 6 years or so with very little incident. |

AT&T charges me for having a smart phone under my plan. I have friends who pay more than me at like $120-150 a month. My mom pays like $40 a month because she doesnt have a smartphone |

tally, have you seen the new plans?? This could benefit you. The promotion ends at the end of the month I switched out when one of my friends told me to check out the new pricing http://9to5mac.com/2014/09/28/att-now-offering-double-data-on-15-gb-and-higher-mobile-share-value-plans-through-october-31st/ It's not listed there but if you go to the AT&T site they have under 10 gb plans too Edited by best80smovierad, Oct 12 2014, 12:50 PM.

Spasgur's got me beat. I pay $29 a month for 8 hours of voice, unlimited texting and no data. I can live without that since I'm connected to the internet at home and work. EDIT: Who here still has a "land line?" We do. Pay about $30 a month for that. Edited by split decision, Oct 12 2014, 01:59 PM.

The only people I know who still have a landline are my parents, uncles, aunts and my grandparents. I think the landline will pretty much die out in a couple of decades. |

That's interesting. 1,000 hours of free talk. Is that for the entire year? Because no month has more than 744 hours. |

I have a land line that I never use but its basically free at this point because my cable company offers me a discount provided I have that, internet and cable on one bill. I get very good cell reception at my apartment and really could do without it but like I said more of a cost savings. My parents use it at their house but they need it because cell phone reception is shitty for them in their area.
Internet can be pricey here. I pay $65 a month which gets me uncapped internet and currently one of the fastest internet services in NY at about 150 download speeds and 30 upload. I'm grandfathered in though for that and its supposed to cost more. |

Man you guys get a raw deal! I get 800 mins, unlimited text, unlimited data (including being allowed to tether my device to an iPad or laptop and share the data) for £36 ($58) a month. This is for an iPhone 5S on a 24 month contract. After the contract finishes (in around 10 months) I will get the same amount of minutes, texts and data for £18 ($29) a month if I don't upgrade the handset. I have an identical contract in my name for my wife that I get 10% discount for because it's with the same provider. I can't believe you guys are sometimes spending $100 a month. How long is the contract for? |

Okay that doesn't seem so bad, but internet in Denmark is not very cheap either. I pay about $140 every three months for 35 download and 10 upload. I don't think I can get a faster speed than that, Copenhagen is for some reason really lacking behind in internet technology. |
