i don't think there is any reason to go after apple.
people knowingly worked hard to circumnavigate apples protection to commit a crime.

if some asshole breaks into your home through your window, i don't think you can sue the window manufacturer.
if they installed the locks incorrectly you could sue.

I don't think the people at Apple would appreciate your Window analogy.

Part of the problem with this whole thing is apparently all that content being "stolen" wasn't actually very intricate or difficult at all. I don't know what Apple's terms of service are, but if they promise any sort of security in their cloud, then they probably should be held accountable for this.

No doubt this bad publicity will harm Apple's iCloud business to some degree. Anyone with sensitive data is going to be reluctant to store it there for a good while.

Reminds me of a local actress here that had a fling with a guy who recorded the session and distributed it on DVDs, internet, etc. She tearfully decried the entire thing as a sex crime. A few months later, she poses nude. Umm... ok.

I'm undecided about whether i would personally call this a sex crime. Question for those who say it isn't: Would you consider a "peeping tom" who records (or doesn't) someone naked through their window, a sex crime? If yes, but "no" to the hackers, what's the difference? Both are similarly gaining access to someone's private property without their permission with the intent of seeing them naked.

To me, it is invasion of privacy and should be treated that way. It is not a sex crime.

What do you feel would be appropriate punishment, Niniendo? Let's say some of these hackers get caught. What sort of fine/jail time do you think fits the crime? Anything at all?

I don't know, but I'd probably reference the Kevin Mitnick case and yes, jail time with a ban on use of technology.

So maybe old Larry David has looked at Jennifer Lawrence's naked body like many of us.

However, like many of us, he doesn't have enough gas left in the tank to do anything about despite her remarks about him turning her on...

Larry David Has No Idea What to Do With Jennifer Lawrence’s Crush on Him

Jennifer Lawrence made many thought-provoking revelations in her Vanity Fair cover story, but her confession to V.F. contributing editor Sam Kashner about having a crush on Larry David had folks at the New Yorker Festival chattering yesterday.

“I'm in love with him, and I have been for a really long time,” the 24-year-old Oscar winner said in her November cover story, a quote that was read aloud to the Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld co-creator star during his interview by The New Yorker’s David Remnick. David was rightly flattered by The Hunger Games star’s comments (he is a living, breathing human after all). “Smart kid. It's a shame that I'm about 40 years older than she is,” he said.

He did seem to quite believe it, though, according to The Wrap, when Remnick read him the entire quote from Lawrence, “I worship Woody Allen, but I don't feel it below the belt the way I do for Larry David.”

“Maybe she's referring to her knees,” laughed David. “I don't think I could do it. On one hand it's very flattering and on another hand, it's kind of a shame—in terms of timing.”

He then admitted, “I'd have fun watching the reality show of it, though.”

In other surprising news, during the interview, David revealed that another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is a possibility. “I’m not ruling it out. I would consider it,” David said. “I'm not tired of it. Other things have come up.”

David said that what was holding him back was intimidation by his own past success. “After a while you're competing against yourself. There's no ‘Palestinian Chicken.’ I’m intimidated by some of the great shows that I did in past seasons,” David said, referring to the infamous Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where his on-screen doppelganger fell for an attractive Palestinian woman.

If David does bring Curb Your Enthusiasm back, we know one Hollywood star who might want to make a guest appearance.
