Whoever hacked those photos and put them on the Internet is guilty of a cyber-crime. But I'm seeing all sort of articles popping up saying that anyone else who shares them or looks at them is also immoral, should be ashamed. Anyone here agree with that? A few examples linked below. What's Wrong With Checking Out Leaked Nude Photos of Celebrities http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2014/09/leaked-photos-nude-celebrities-abuse/379434/ Jennifer Lawrence Nude Photo Leak Isn't A 'Scandal.' It's A Sex Crime http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2014/09/01/jennifer-lawrence-nude-photo-leak-isnt-a-scandal-its-a-sex-crime/ I have thought about this a number of different ways. The simple act of viewing them isn't that bothersome to me. I don't believe they were intended to be shared with the public by the celebrities themselves (some may argue otherwise, but I don't believe it). Similarly, every time you're in a situation where a woman wears something revealing and you can inadvertently see a nipple or up a skirt, do you look away and flagellate yourself later for having caught an eyeful? Nah, you probably think, "Holy fuck! That's hot!" and look some more. It's human nature. There are bound to be plenty of people who are considered morally upright, respected members of society who have viewed those leaked photos: doctors, teachers, police officers, judges, firefighters, members of the military, and the list goes on and on. On the other hand, those stars have had their privacy violated. Period. So let me ask you this: if you were to have your privacy breached and it became known to everyone that you were one of the people who sought out and viewed those photos, would you care? While it's not all that depraved to look at them, IMO, all of us personally know people who will be very judgmental and consider anyone who took a look at the pictures to be a perv. Does that give you any pause? |

Here's the thing.... is this outrage even grounded in reality? Because media is always feigning outrage at things real people should never give a shit about, so it's hard to separate that from something possibly legitimate. As it stands, there are parts of the country/world that oppose foul language and nudity altogether because their brains are stuck in the 1800's, so of course a minor stink is gonna be made about all these photos and the people enjoying them. |

I'm with you on this one, I think, Split. I looked at all of them ASAP, but once the initial curiosity fades, you do realize this is a very personal violation. I also don't buy into the argument that they should have never taken them and should have known better as celebrities. They are still people who should be entitled to some form of personal privacy. To me this is different that making a sex tape with your BF and having him post it online when you split. In that scenario, you rolled the dice and got bit. Shit happens. With these, they were not posted online or passed around and got into the wrong hands. They were on their personal devices not meant to be shared. A lot of these are young women who don't sell themselves as sex symbols and I can sympathize with their feelings. They SHOULD have recourse, and I do think it should be considered a sex crime. |

Yeah - but there's a lot more to it than just that, I think. I dunno...maybe it's my conspiracy theorist nature - but it certainly seems like this a GREAT marketing opportunity for a lot of these people - and they get everyone to feel sorry for them as they're the victim in this ruthless act of vile bestowed upon them. I could be wrong though. |

Pretty sure it's already been proven you're off base here. If this was a one person whose photos made it out and they looked great in all of them, I might think this is all planned. Fact is they feel this may be tied to an online group that has been hacking into people private info and circulating them among themselves in private groups for a while. Someone finally decided to make them public. Fact is, some of these photos are less than flattering. No way those were purposely put out there by the celebs. Not in this case, anyway. |

why in the hell would jennifer lawrence need to do this??? she's probably the top commanded actress in hollywood right now. She definitely didnt need to "boost" her career I think what mosie posted in the hot babes thread makes the most sense. There would be no reason at all for Jen Lawrence to have a team think this was the move for her career. |

Yeah, I'm with tallica and I feel bad for these women. These were personal photos and moments and shouldn't have been shared. |

Meh - maybe. I haven;t seen any of them. This type of stuff just reminds me of that sideline reporter chick who conveniently had someone video taping her in the nude at all the perfect angles and then she acted appalled by it as she rode the publicity train to a bigger job. |

For fuck's sakes does anyone really give two squirts of shit? This stuff was stolen/leaked and posted online for the masses to view and fap to. I guess you limp dicked mthrfkrs who want to feel some kind of guilt and outrage over this will try and find an issue with anything just to make yourselves feel better after you have fapped to these very photo's.
