He slept in that morning. He fell asleep in the medical center itself after working a late shift for another person. Erik was called in at the last minute as a family emergency arose for a fellow medical worker. This person was to run the night shift of being a doctor in the emergency room. Erik stepped in, not yet a doctor, but he was able to manage some of the things and with the help of the nurses be such as good as a doctor. Luckily there were a few doctors on the night shift as well. So, in more serious things Erik can pass the case. All he got to do that night was take three samples for STD tests, diagnose a five year old with chickenpox (with another doctor present, as there has to be one) and admitted a patient to the hospital with the flu that seems to have gotten serious. It wasn't an exciting night, and it wasn't a bad night as well. But he stayed up until nearly three in the morning. He collasped in the doctor's lounge on a coach. He slept until nearly one. When he woke he took a quick shower in the hospital facilities and put on a fresh change of clothes he had in his locker. Luckily, they had lockers for things like this. He had to run a clinic at two. After he was all cleaned up and dressed he headed down to a clinic room. It was just a small waiting room and two offices. One he set up shop in, the other was for the attendance check in. However, he was doing this alone. It was blood pressure awareness day. He was here to take blood pressure only, for people who had to get it recorded, or were even curious. He then can recommend for them to go to a clinic, or tell them what is normal or not. But, blood pressure. He checked his. And he checked a passerby, who was the janitor. The electric device worked, and he even listened to the heart while the device was recording. He took his blood pressure manually, all set and matched the electric device. He was ready. Luckily two just hit. His blood pressure clinic was ready for the day. |
