Mall of the Dead is a multi-fandom crossover, probably-mostly-crack, zombie mall RPG. Zombies wander the floors of this two-story labyrinthine nightmare of a shopping center, and anyone unfortunate enough to be randomly pulled in must take shelter in one of the thankfully-zombie-free stores. Of course, one is free to kill zombies too, but it seems that no matter how many of the living dead are turned into the merely dead, their numbers never seem to dwindle.

"What could be more normal than a day at the mall? A shopping trip, a little excursion - something that can be done any day of the week. Something some people do every day of the week. Nothing strange at all, right?

Except, you can't really remember coming to the mall today. You don't know how you got here. No idea at all. In fact, you can't even remember waking up for breakfast today. (Good thing there's coffee and all sorts of edible things in the food court). Some of you might not even know what the heck a mall is, but rest assured that it's a perfectly normal place for you to be right now, all things considered.

There are a few... strange things about this mall, though. For one thing, it's big. Big enough to get lost in--well, okay, that's not strange for a lot of malls. But this one has more stores than you might think. Pretty much any store at all, it looks like. Weird ones that you might not normally find in malls, and in weird orders: guns right next to the toystore and many other politically incorrect shops and mixes. And very observant people might notice that some things, like ammo in the gun store and food in the food court, never seem to run low, much less run out. And there's nobody there to run anything, no cashiers, no sales clerks, no annoying survey people, no security.

Strange. Just a little.

The shop windows, if tested, seem to be made of nigh-unbreakable glass--meaning that if it's breakable, nothing's been found that can do it yet. The gates that can be pulled down for security seem equally sturdy. And all the windows and doors, everywhere, leading to the outside are locked, made of the same unbreakable glass as everything else, and unable to be forced open. The only glass that seems to be breakable in this place is the glass covering the mall directory, which is cracked and obscure, making it hard to tell where anything is and impossible to tell the name of the mall.

Strange. Maybe slightly unsettling.

At least it's not quiet. There's the usual muzak and low-energy pop hits played over the speaker system, and the low murmur of voices, though they sound more like groans, and the sound of feet shuffling and shambling on their way from one store to the next, on their way to the next big sale, apparently of brains.

...There are zombies! GET IN THE CAR!"
