Well Ash, draft, I did what you said and what you told me to edit and made a new map. What i don't want people to say is just "it sucks! YOU FAIL GTFO!!" And i don't want people to tell me it looks good when it obviously sucks. What i do want is for people to tell me whats wrong and what to improve on like ash, draft and infinity previously did. Oh and Ash, be a little less harsh, lol i am a beginner. I just said i was good for a beginner. Spoiler: click to toggle Spoiler: click to toggle Spoiler: click to toggle Spoiler: click to toggle And as i have said many times before, enjoy for those who can. |

Your maps have issues. The mountains don't have an even number of tiles to hold them up therefore it looks ill placed and unreal. In the first pic, on the mountain Aluxes is standing on it goes from 3 tiles up to 4 tiles up then to 5 tiles up when you placed that corner. It's pretty weird. My eyes caught it immediately. Second pic is ok Third pic, same issue on the mountain in the top right it goes 3-3-3-4-3-3-3-3-4, you see it? It should be 3/4 across the board. Other than that it looks fine. |

Waaiiit, the unrealistic-ness is gone right? I mean by the shapes of the mountain. I mean the problem is w/e you stated but other than that it is good right? :P Edited by zero, Fri 02 Jan 2009 01:31:53.

Besides the unrealisticness of it, it's good. Just work on making those even. It you put a mountain 4 tiles up, until it's closed off, it needs to be 4 tiles up. |

I re-checked what you said and you were wrong. Everything on the mountain is properly made. Maybe your eyes played tricks on you and you saw something else. I looked at parts of a real mountain after you said what you did, and it seems like i did a pretty good job. The mountain is also bigger than you see on the pics. Also on the first pic, at the top, that's a lower part of the mountain that comes out by the side. Most mountains have it. Just wanted to clarify. |

RMXP mapping is different from real life though. There is no accurate way of showing that in RMXP. Therefore I'm techinically right. What I'm talking about is under the dead tree where it's 3 tiles high, then when you move right it goes 4 tiles high. It's unrealistic, anybody playing such a map will be distraught by that. |

Ahhh, i see what you mean. sowwie bout that :(. I was tryna' give off a certain realistic effect. I thought it actually looked good. The effect was that i was trying to show that there was a slant in the ground making the floor higher. But gamers nowadays that aren't as in depth with mapping and have short attention spans wont be bothered because they wont realize because they would be to busy playing :P. But thx for the info i will try my best not to do that. |

Yeah. I wasn't griping about that little "island" thingy. A lot of critics do gripe about that stuff, and there are map critics. Oh, also, try making a building... the inside of one. Edited by Infinity, Fri 02 Jan 2009 01:51:14.
