Introduction

No site is complete without a Competitions forum, and now we have one!

However, this will not be like the Competitions run at other wargaming sites, oh no. This will be different because it will be you, the members of Lasgun Emporium, that run the show. The Staff will only be present to participate and to vote and to divvy out rewards to the victors.

This system will be great for many reasons. First off, it allows for members to be more involved with the administrative workings of the forum. Secondly, it automatically adjusts for demand. So, if there is not much demand for competitions at a given time, then there aren't going to be as many competitions, and vice versa. Thirdly, you get to choose the topics that are turned into competitions. It could be anything related to Warhammer, from Best Base, to Best Fluff, to Best Apocalypse Army. You're only limited by your imagination.

However, the Staff does reserve the right to terminate any given competition. The termination of a competition might be because of...

  • Lack of demand (at least three members need to have entered in your competition).
  • Non-applicable to Warhammer 40,000.
  • You did not follow the posting outline.
  • Anything outwardly strange or offensive.

Competitions Outline

Please use exclusively this coding when posting up a new competition.

Code:

[center][b]Contest Name[/b][/center]

[i]A short introduction to the contest[/i]

[hr]
[list]
[*]Start Date [Submissions].
[*]End Date [Submissions].
[*]Start Date [Voting].
[*]End Date [Voting].
[/list]

[hr]
[u]Rules[/u]
[list]
[*]Rule 1
[*]Rule 2
[*]Rule 3
[*]Rule 4
[*]Rule 5

[hr]
[i]Short outro[/i]

This will give you:

Competition's Code

Contest Name

A short introduction to the contest

  • Start Date [Submissions].
  • End Date [Submissions].
  • Start Date [Voting].
  • End Date [Voting].
Rules

  • Rule 1
  • Rule 2
  • Rule 3
  • Rule 4
  • Rule 5
Short outro

Now obviously you'll want to edit your own information in for the information already inputted, but the same general coding should stay as presented.

Rewards

Now the part you've all been waiting for... What do I receive when I win a competition? Well, the Staff at Lasgun Emporium will be giving you a number of things...

First Place

  • Access to a Custom Title.
  • +3 Karma.
  • An Awards Seal.
Second Place

  • +2 Karma
  • An Awards Seal.
Third Place

  • +1 Karma.
  • An Awards Seal.

The member running your competition might offer you something else for your dedicated work. This should be specified in the OP's thread.

Thanks for taking a gander through this post and hopefully we'll get some competitions up and running fairly soon!

Interesting concept, letting the forum come up with the competitions.
Though the admins might want to reserve the right to disallow any outrightly weird competitions. And by weird, anything that might offend someone.

Still, I got some ideas brewing in my head

++Edit++
Too many outrights...
