First, off welcome to Lasgun Emporium, an online forum dedicated to all aspects of the Forty-Kay universe. We've got nearly everything you could want when looking for a online gaming forum, but you probably know that by just looking around. We're honored that you've chosen us as your number one site for gaming information, tactics, and hobby.

First things first, the unpleasantries. Rules. I know everyone hates to read them, but it is instrumental to your success and continued membership on these forums. Sorry :*sigh*: .

Lasgun Emporium Rules [Last Updated: 3/7/10]

1-1: Posting Content.

We pride ourselves on the high quality of our content. As such, you, as a respected member of Lasgun Emporium, are expected to abide by these guidelines.

Under no circumstances will you post...

  • Content that infringes upon any rights.
  • Viruses or any other harmful computer software.
  • Libel1.
  • Spam, chain letters, or pyramid schemes.
  • Content concerning gambling or illicit drugs.
  • Content pertaining to terrorism.
  • Hacks or cheats for internet/online games.
  • Warez, Roms, CD-Keys, Cracks, Passwords, or Serial Numbers.
  • Pornography, nudity, or sexual material of any kind.
  • Excessive2 profanity
  • Content that is invasive or privacy or impersonation of any person/entity.
  • Hacking materials or information.
1Actual malice must be determined for punishment to take place.
2We do allow for some swearing. As a general guideline, a post that has more than twenty obscenities will be defined as excessive profanity and will be prosecuted by the Staff as such.

1-2: Posting Expectations

In an attempt to avoid unnecessary spam, there is a word filter in place that will reject your post if it is less than ten words in length. The reasons for this are simple; if you can't think of a mere ten words to describe what you are writing about, you shouldn't be writing about it in the first place.

1-3: Posting Disclosure

Anything that you post on Lasgun Emporium is still your property. However, we do retain the right to use it as well, with your permission, of course.

2-1: Add-Ons & Functions

We have added some spiffy new stuff to our forums to make your experience here more enjoyable. Here is a list of content and how you can access it.

  • Edit Profile: Preferences → Update Profile.
  • Avatar: Preferences → Change Avatar.
  • Signature: Preferences → Change Signature.
  • Change Password: Preferences → Update Profile → Board Controls → Change Password.
  • Change Username1: Preferences → Update Profile → Board Controls → Change Username.
  • Change Email: Preferences → Update Profile → Board Controls → Change Email Address.
1Must be approved by an Administrator.

Those are just some of the basic functions. For more of the advanced functions, play around with the forum, or PM a Staff Member for help.

2-2: Karma

Karma on this forum, as in life, comes in two different forms. Positive Karma and Negative Karma. Karma cookies show how well you are getting along with the forum and its many members. Your Karma can be edited only by the Staff Members, though you might have the illusion that you can change it yourself, you can't, so don't bother trying.

Positive Karma is given to posts that are helpful to other members, offer valuable insight, and/or demonstrate a commitment to this forum and the game of Warhammer 40,000. It is not something that will be given to every post you make. Positive Karma does two things. First it demonstrates the quality of posts that you are making with in the forums. Second, since it is public, it acts as a reinforcer to make good posts. Pride is one of the best payments and Karma is one of Pride's currency's of choice.

Negative Karma, on the other hand, is not a good thing. Karma cookies will be taken away from you if you make slanderous and/or personal attacks towards other members, if you insult the Staff in any fashion, or if you break one of the rules. Note that this is not an all inclusive list and, like Positive Karma, Negative Karma is subjective to your individual moderator. It is possible to go into the negatives in your Karma Count, so be weary of that as well. Once you reach -10 Karma, your actions have demonstrated that you are no longer the kind of caliber of poster that we want frequenting our forums and you will be banned.

Karma is in no way a representation of the respect that you will be given. This forum does not endorse favoritism as a result of Karma in any way. Every member that we have is respected the same as the next, from the newbies to the Administrators.

2-3: Custom Titles

Custom Titles are something awarded to member of the Staff as well as members who demonstrate their dedication to the forum. There are a few ways that you are able to receive a Custom Title outside of being promoted to Staffship.

  • Reaching 2,500 posts.
  • Winning a competition.
  • Achieving Staff status.
Now, obviously, 2,500 posts is a lofty standard, but we don't want just any member running around with a shiny customized title. Therefore, the moment you reach Comradeship is the moment your receive access to your Custom Title.

We do, however, reserve the right to give and take away Custom Titles no matter post count. For example, if you post insightful and helpful information, you might earn yourself a Custom Title no matter how many post counts you have.

3-1: Games Workshop Copyright
