there is really a big problem if it was a tormur in her belly it would not effect here balance untill it was effecting her legs ( it would have to be huge and you would see it ) ok monday ring the vet and see if you can get her some more antibotics this time give her 14 course , do her eyes look a bit dirty like they are watering ? |

If her poops start to look larger in volume like an hen about to lay eggs, then a good chance that either she is eggbound or in fact has a tumor. Another symptom will be a dark color on the lower abdomen and even one of her legs may start to become paralyzed and even turn dry and the tissue will start to get necrotic. It doesnt look good. Sounds like even if u did take her to the vet, if a tumor, then short of a surgeon being able to remove it and her survive is not good. I lost at least 3 birds now to abdominal tumors. Keep her warm with a heat lamp or bulb, give her all the extra food goodies she will take and hope for the best. Another thing u could ask for from the vet is medicam which is an anti inflammatory pain killer. IT will buy u more time with her and hopefully slow down the growth if it is a tumor and stop her from feeling any pain. I put all 3 of my birds on this and they passed comfortably with no pain. I wish u luck and I hope for the best, but it doesnt look good and I would prepare yourself and your daughter somehow

I agree with CBL as far as the metacam, I use it with my dog who has a tumour in his snout and it has done amazing things, I would call the vet and talk about it. Keeping you in my thoughts at this difficult time. cathy |

I would definitely call the vet on Monday as Nat has suggested and perhaps another round of antibiotics or the metacam as CBL said. It is always so horrible when they are ill, they hide so many things. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |

I read that if the poops are wet like that that the bird is actually dehydrated. Make sure she is drinking well, and I would start her on pedialyte or sugar water for energy or gatorade. Also can u tell me the color of the poops? I cannot tell in the pics. I would either stop giving her millet spray or at least blanch them in boiling water first in cage this is upsetting her apple cart. There is a mould risk with them. I have started to do this as a precaution as well. I noticed a few of my birds getting crop upsets and diarrhea when I gave too much millet spray. I would give her a good seed mix, veggies and greens and dry eggfood. Keep it simple for now. Get the medicam if u can. U actually have a choice of 3 sizes. I think they are 15ml, 25ml and 100ml bottles. MUCH cheaper to buy a bottle outright than to just get a syringe full from the vets. That costs an arm and a leg that way. He will sell u one. The bird only needs literally 1/2 drop a day. I place a drop on the back of a bowl or shot glass and dip my finger in it and wipe it on the birds beak or mouth. It actually tastes good, like honey. They dont spit it out.

Another thing u can try for the diarrhea is kaeopectate, vanilla flavor from the drugstore. Again, tastes good. 3 to 5 drops every 4 hours or so. This contains kaeolin which is a clay and can remove any toxins from her digestive tract. This could help all the way around. The poops are NOT big like she has a tumor, they are just flat. Did your vet run a stool sample. Could be a simple case of worms. Have him check. |

There is treatment for coccidiosis. Ask the vet and give it a try. |
