Crazy Bird Lady

Well, she can still see something this morning as she is running away from my hand :) She is good and upright and getting quicker to flee.

Well I wish I really knew what the heck caused it and what is causing this positive change. But very happy and looks like she is really on the mend. Im home tomorrow and I will continue to crop feed and see how she is.

Thanks Pass and Cathy, but I can't even really take credit. Im basically stumbling on an answer and won't consider her healed till her poops are normal. That worries me the most. I have to say that some type of bacteria has caused both blindness and paralysis in the past in a few of my birds and it has been too late for all of them, they have all died, so if this one recovers and lives it will be a miracle for sure. I'm documenting the poop and which meds I used that may take care of it. I'm liteally down to 12 old birds now and my 12 or so tame babies. If the split dusters don't breed any bubs this year, I'd say it's over for them as well, hen has laid three clutches of clear eggs. May be too old or not perfect healthy to do so.

Update on this bird.
She recovered and her poops became nice and formed so I put her back into the big larger cage with two other birds with good feed and medicated water as I still wasnt don with the meds.

She has been there a few days now, so tonight when I was typing another post I could here this movment and shuffling again and thought WTF is going on, who is restless, so I don my headlamp and go into the birdroom with the green light on and sure enought there is the hen on the cage floor as before pushing up against the bars BLIND AS A BAT AGAIN!!!! Like WTF is going on, so I took her out, same protocol with medicam, crop feed with polyaide and into the small heated cage in the bathroom!!! Not sure what the hell is going on or what is casuing her blindess, but am hoping it gets under control again and see how we go from there. VERY bizzarre!!!!
