Cathy, I cant wait. I hate this cold weather, but I dont like it to ugly hot either. Will love to see the birds fly and hang in the sun.

Well got the second loft all rigged up with hay and perches, locks, critter proof EXTRA secure for the other birds to go into. I put in the racing babies, Posh and the grizzle old hen. I also had my bub and the Jac for a bit but the racer bubs were laying a beating on her so I pushed him to the floor and took her out and back inside. She will go into there for little visits with the Jac when I put him out, and if those racers are so aggressive, I may toss them in with the males to teach them some etiquette. Little shits. Will have to keep an eye on which one is the nasty one and toss that one in with the males asap.

The strong survive and get to pass on their lineage in breeding. Thats why but it sucks.
Here are some pics of the birds tonight :) The Jacs are in the house and so is the white bub that I believe to be a hen now :) So SHE is gonna breed with either the white Jac or I find him a white racing hen.

Maryann, I absolutely love it. What an awesome setup for the pigeons. I love the perches. I am going to borrow your idea an construct a few of those for the aviary just so they have another place to perch on. GREAT IDEA.

What's a Jac?

Tish, the back support is 6 inches by whatever thickness of plywood u have.
The two by four is also six inches. So they have room to perch and turn around but NOT two of them at once so this helps to curb any fighting.

Pass, a Jac is short for Jacobin pigeon :)

I need that in the parakeet cage.......nine swings is a lot to fit into a cage (I think I have six in there) plus perches, and a spirial swing but still each one wants their own swing. ^o)

Maryann is that the mating loft?
