Ok here is the pics of the loft with the green paint....
The door shows the water leaking and diluting the paint but I have the caulking now to seal it :)
Just wanted u to see the green white contrast, gonna look great against the bird color.

That will be a seriously cool setup for those birds. I can't wait to see how you decorate it inside with the perches, etc.

In the pics above, do u see the huge gap in the big loft door letting the light in. This is what has to be blocked before I can let them in there. A weasel or mink can squeeze thru otherwise and do them in.

I went into the loft the next day after painting it green and it turns out there are leaks on both windows but small ones. Caulking will fix. Then I look up to see if any roof rafters are wet and I see a line of water drops along the top thinking oh no, my shingle job was bad! I put my fingers on it to wipe the water away and it was only DRIED paint drips, the ceiling is high and dry!!! I was so pleased as the hubby teased me saying the rains will come and the whole roof would leak cuz I did it lol. Bugger had me worried, not anymore tho.

So hubby informs me after dinner that the guy will be coming back THIS weekend if the weather is good and put up the other loft!!! I was soooooo excited as I was cringing on how to seperate the sexes. So now I can give them a loft each and in time under less duress, split one of the lofts into sexes and have one for the babies. In the meantime I am looking at others trying to decided how and where to put the trap door and platform. Want to keep it simple. I am taking Friday off work to
clean the area and set up the blocks and level the ground. I want it up easy peasy and fast so he can work on the perches and shelving.

That is awesome news. You're going to get this finished sooner than you anticipated and can get the birds situated in their new home before the first snowfall.

It will be a wood plant screwed in on the inside, my carpenter guy will do it. He did the other door so profesionally. I just spoke to him now and he says he will try this weekend as long as he isnt called to the movie set. So fingers crossed he is bored this weekend!

Ok the pigeons are in the loft now. Two dominant males are scraping a bit. Seems to be enough room tho that they can get away from eachother, but I may add a divider to the very top arches so they can yap but not contact each other. They keep having these beak duals and knocking eachother off the perches. But I have gone in a few times and all is good no fighting.

I will try to load a short vid of the battle. In the meantime here is a pic.
