Vi those pictures of the shed were taken where the sheds are now. Maryann has a gorgeous backyard that overlooks water.

Those pigeons sure will have a great view -- a coveted waterfront view.

Lol, ya I think I will put a small window on the water side, but I think Im supposed to leave one wall totally closed for the perches. Will see what buddy says tomorrow and how his place is rigged up.
Vi, the sheds are at the restaurant where I took them from.

Maryann, I can't wait to see the setup. I would like to compare it to what I have. I'm thinking of putting panels on the windy side of the aviary -- removable panels so that I can put them up at night if it's really windy and cold and take them down during the day. I haven't decided yet since they do have their houses that they can go into to get out of the cold and wind.

How cold is it in your neck of the woods right now? Last night it was cold out but tonight it is warm. I'm wearing a short sleeved t-shirt outside, no need for a sweater. Last night I needed a sweater.

It is ugly cold and rainy here and we are getting alot more rain in the next 3 days. It has been raining for weeks. One day here and there, no rain. My grass is so saturated and muddy. It was so cold today, it was hell. Gonna go down to 3 tonight. I hate it. Long range weather tho shows some nice sun in November. I look forward to it and to getting these lofts up and done for the birds. I am tarping and blocking wind with plywood for the outside pigeons. Its a pain and I want the loft up so I can seperate the sexes and let the birds have excersize and relax.

Oh and the bird that got the back of her head chomped by the male pigeon IS A MALE not a female, I had to separate THAT one now as well. So now I have 3 males for sure and waiting to see what the other 3 turn out to be. I better have at least one bloody homer hen or Im gonna be pissed.

The sick white one is now nice and plump and recovering. I bring it out in the living room for some flight training as it could not hardly fly or land, and is now doing better for the daily flights. Even the Jacobin with the thin breast I get out to fly and gonna trim her head dress so she can see and fly more often. No life to sit in a cage and not be able to stretch the wings. Finally the dark check city pigeon I got, is mending very well. He actually tried to attack one of the racers today and dominate him lol.

Oh and we went for a drive up the farm road at the end of my street and I found a flock of pigeons up and flying and there were a few white ones, so back home for binoculars and I found the birds up in the air being chased by a sharp shinned hawk. Was a spectacular display on all accounts. Went into three of the abandoned barns and the one with the dirt floor had feathers and pigeon footprints on every square inch of the huge barn, but sadly one set of very young pigeon wings on the floor. Looked to be about 2.5 weeks old. Above I could hear but not see baby squeakers beggin for food. So now Im gonna have to go by there every few days to see if any fall from the roof and rescue them so no critter makes a meal of them.
